Round 1: Matt vs. Bye
[Scouted, Breakfast, etc]
Round 2: Matt vs. Little
Kid
I beat this kid up and down the
street. This was my first duel which I had waited for the first round to
finish for almost an hour. In this time, I used to Scout, Get a 3rd Don
Zaloog and a 2nd Ring of Destruction. [Ebay Field Day...woo] I
literally finished him off quickly. He had a Blue Eyes in his graveyard
which I got back with Monster Reborn, which ended up winning the
game.
Round 3: Matt vs. Little
Kid
I knew Shane was waiting for
someone after this match, and I was hoping it was me. Not because he's a
bad player, which he isn't. It was because we hadn't faced each other in a
long time. Especially in a tournament match. So I hoped it was
I. Anyways on with this match. I ate this kid up too. His
bones we're baked to make my bread in minutes. Wow thats a strong
oven. ;) [aka I murdered his deck].
Round 4: Matt vs.
Shane
Wow I was right.
Weeeee. This was a pretty fun game, we went hit for hit, until my
speed advantage took over. I ended up taking home the first game because
he couldn't keep up with the speed and the drawpower that I had. Well the
next game was over in a hurry. I began to get a good start, although he
almost had a strategy that was beating me, but he gave up in the end because I
overcame that. I'm not sure why, boredem possibly?
Round 5: Matt vs.
Josh
We're pretty good
friends. He'll probably end up being part of Team Ultima in future
weeks. Seeing as how I made a huge mistake that I'm almost embarassed to
talk about. *hits self in head hard* Yes, the mistake was that bad
and cost me the 2nd match. Well I ended up getting a pretty good start in
the first game but he shut it down with his pre-negators, and went in for the
kill with his monsters. Almost nothing I could do. Injection Fairy
Lily got the job done in a matter of minutes. The next game was the big
mistake. I was winning and then again his pre-negators took over. I
bounced back slightly. Had a reasonable hand. Then the bad part
came. I Harpie's Feather Dustered his Mirage of Nightmares thinking I
could still discard the next turn. With a clear field and nothing in
hand. I got the boot. :(
Ah well. 3rd place isn't that bad. He went on to face
John and lost. Congrats John. I don't think John will be there next
weekend because he was taking a trip out to Atlantic City. So it was a
good 300 points for him. Also I'm not too scared of Josh winning because
he doesn't come often. Mainly because he moved further away from the
store. I've missed 2 tournaments so I just need a couple more tournament
wins and a bit of luck and I might be able to pull off a first place
season. *Would be nice ;)*
I pulled a Curse of Royal. Not even 1st Edition.
Bah.
