Before the
Tournament~
I woke up
around 10:00, went to church then came back home. Checked over the stuff in my
backpack and made sure everything was there. Decided to relax for about an hour,
so I put NCAA March Madness in my PS2, and played a couple of games. When I
convinced my Dad to drive me over, we struggled to find it, but finally arrived
around 1:00. The store was not open yet, but this guy who scares me was standing
around the store. All I know is that he is in his 40s-50s and he still lives
with his parents, personally I think he is SLOW. My dad almost did not let me
out of the car, he thought that when I had talked to Ricky on AIM that it was
some kind of crazy child molesting stalker, and this guy fit the ideal child
molesting stalker image. Finally when the store opened up I walked inside hung
out for awhile, met Ricky and Brent. Surprisingly it turned out that I had met
Brent before. Just as the tourney was about to start I finally got another Don
Zaloog, at a good price, $14.

-Tournament
is Double Elimination-
Round 1: So
Smooth vs. Fiend Deck[Insert Name Here]
-Game
1-
I was not
sure what to expect, I had never played here before. I was in control most of
the time, and he thought he was safe when he had a Spear Cretin on the field,
and one in the grave. He summoned the second cretin, and I summoned Exiled. I
offered Exiled in Main Phase 2. I kept doing this until I could break the chain
and do enough damage.
WINNER: So
Smooth
-Game
2-
I got no
monsters in my first hand, and he thought he was looking great. 3 Fiends and
Necrofear in his opening hand. He set Spear Cretin, which I Nobleman of
Crossoutd. Then I confiscated Necrofear, and Forcefulled Giant Orc. He summoned
something else, but I torrential tributed. He got a Slate Warrior and a Lesser
Feind on the field, but the Slate Warrior destroyed my Blade Knight, which
allowed me to summon Black Luster Soldier, winning the game for
me.
WINNER: So
Smooth
2-0
Round 2: So
Smooth vs. Crazy RFG Deck[Insert Name Here]
-Game
1-
He did some
crazy RFGing, and I helped out with my Kycoos and Dark Blade the Dragon Knight.
He has no Dimension Fusions, and if he did this deck would have a chance, but he
dug himself into too much of a hole, so when I took control and started beating
him down it was too much to stop.
WINNER: So
Smooth
-Game
2-
He had one
face down magic or trap, and I had 2000 life. I had a 2000 attack Blade Knight,
Reflect Bounder, and a Chaos Sorceror that I snatch stole. I could not attack
with Reflect, so I just passed the turn. He went up to 2700 life, and I played
Painful Choice, putting all monsters with under 2000 attack, making sure not to
lose to a Cylinder. I summoned Exiled Force, and then attacked with Reflect and
Exiled, for the 2700 damage that I needed.
WINNER: So
Smooth
4-0
Round 3: So
Smooth vs. Chaos[Charles]
-Game
1-
A really
back and forth game. He was at 5400, and I was at 5600. I summoned Black Luster
Soldier and Exiled Force, offering Exiled Force to kill Blowback Dragon, and
having Black Luster Soldier attack Blade Knight and directly for a total of 4000
damage. He played Smashing Ground, and summoned his own BLS. After dropping
myself to 2600, all the stuff I had kept in my hand got to show themselves. I
drew and showed him my hand. Change of Heart, Snatch Steal, Premature Burial,Don
Zaloog, and Smashing Ground. Anything I felt like doing would beat him, so I
did.
WINNER: So
Smooth
-Game
2-
We both got
very low in life, and after Fiber getting flipped 3 times it finally got
Nobleman of Crossoutd. Eventually, he forfeited because he had no way to win,
and I had all kinds of possiblities in my hand. He was confident that he had
placed Top 4 for the month, and all he wanted was the LeviaDragon. Anyways, I
would have beat him that turn, so I felt good.
WINNER: So
Smooth
6-0
Round 4: So
Smooth vs. Mystic Swordsman[Brent]
-Game
1-
Honestly I
have little remembrance of these games, although many of them were good. I
remember getting rid of Torrential from his hand, and waiting for him to swarm
so that I could torrential his Marauding, DD Assailant, and Command Knight.
Blade Knight helped maintain board presence, along with some use of Magical
Scientist.
WINNER: So
Smooth
-Game
2-
I thought I
had this game, but he came back from behind, and I lost my hand. Got me down low
early, then I rebounded, but he ended up winning.
WINNER:
Brent
-Game
3-
Its all a
blur, but I knock out Brent from the tournament. He played good in all the
games, it was cool.
WINNER: So
Smooth
8-1
Round 5: So
Smooth vs. THE BYE
I was the
last person to get a bye, so I watched Ricky beat the Crazy RFG person to stay
undefeated.
-Ricky and
I were the only two people left. Unfortunately, we were both undefeated, which
meant that we would play best 2 out of 3 matches. Im going to cover the Finals
in match summarys instead of games, because it would take way too
long.
-Ricky
decided to autograph about 20 Skull Servants, and he told people that anyone who
beat him in a match would get one. So far noone had any of the Skull
Servants.
Finals: So
Smooth vs. Ricky
-Match
1-
No good
hands, and if I ever got something going, Ricky would stop it with ease. In one
game I had everything going for me, but he summoned Magical Scientist and payed
1000 life to summon Dark Blade the Dragon Knight. Dark Blade attacked Blade
Knight, and removed my other three monsters from my grave. We joked saying that
he had to make sure I could beat him if I drew Black Luster Soldier. Sure
enough, I drew Black Luster Soldier, and laughed. The other card in my hand,
Blade Knight attacked Magical Scientist, but it got destroyed. So I was left
with nothing, and I lost.
WINNER:
Ricky 2-0
-Match
2-
I lost the
first game, and was put in a tough situation in the second game, but I stuck
with the game, and eventually pulled it out. The next game I was in another
tough tight situation, but I made it out, when I attacked without fear of his
face-down magic/trap card. I evened the matches up, enjoying the first ever
given out, Ricky autographed Skull Servant.
WINNER: So
Smooth 2-1
-Match
3-
I had a
decent hand in the first game, put when he took it apart after he hit
prenegators, etc... Everything I had going for me was picked apart by what he
had. Game 2 was ugly, and I was tired. I tried to play the game out, but I knew
I would lose. I didnt mind though, finishing second in my first tournament
since before October.
WINNER:
Ricky 2-0
overall`record
Matches:5-2(or
4-1 depending on how you look at it)
Games:10-5
Props
`~I am the
only person to have won Skull Servant from Ricky, it has to be worth more than
that stupid Cyber Stein. Off to sell it on EBAY.
`~I found a
cool shop to play at, finally found a place that plays with the Ban List, at a
time when I can get there.
`~Finishing
2nd in my first tourney in a long time, and my first Advanced Format
tourney.
`~Getting
the final card for my deck, at a pretty reasonable price. Good thing I had some
extra spending money.
`~Much
More
Slops
`~Only
getting one Tournament pack, and pulling nothing good from
it.
`~Nothing
else, I had a fun time.
