Now before I get started I just want to give a little background information on our tournaments. We are separated into four classes. They are A, B, C, and D. They are determined by your skill. You are guaranteed to play someone of your skill the first round so you have at least a chance to advance. After that you are on your own. Im in the A class. I used to run a Gravity Bind deck that won me a few tournaments, but enough about that. On with the tournament.
Round One: Me vs. Terrance (Earth Deck)-B class
This guy was pretty good so here it goes.
Duel one:
I went first. Now I had the best Yata-Lock hand ever. Forceful, Yata, Delinquent Duo, plus a Graceful and a Spirit Reaper just in case. Draw..Jinzo. I play my hand disrupters and leave him with a Gaia Power and an Airknight. Play Graceful; get Imperial, Monster Reborn, and D.D. Lady. Send Jinzo to the graveyard and sadly D.D. Lady. Play Monster Reborn get Jinzo, set Imperial and end( to all those who are reading this and wondering how I remember this, I wrote it down). Ends up he draws crap(Axe of Despair to be exact) and hes Yata-Locked.
Winner-Me
Me-8000
Him-Yata
Duel 2:
This one was tough. My starting hand had nothing but some cards like a random Yata, a Delinquent, Axe of Despair, Monster Reborn, and Spirit Reaper. My Spirit Reaper held out for the first couple of turns, until he played Raigeki with 2 Geminis and a Gaia Power on the field. I took a few life points, until what should happen but Jinzo.. again. Ill play the Monster Reborn in my hand to bring back his other Gemini (Delinquent), and sacked it for Jinzo, played Axe and took out a Gemini. He plays Exiled Force, attacks with Gemini, leaving me at 800. Luck has it that I draw a Raigeki, play it and pecked at his life points. He doesnt draw and has one card in his hand. He sets it on the field and ends. I attack, and when nothing happens I know I had won. I asked him and he laughs and shows me his face down card, Heavy Storm.
Winner-Me
Me-8000, 3200, 800
Him-8000, 7000, Yata
Round Two: Me vs. Bye(no really thats his name and he plays a light deck)
Hes in the C class so I didnt have to worry much.
Duel One:
This one scared me. I didnt write my starting hand but I know I had a Scapegoat and a Tribe Infecting Virus. I draw a Sinister for my little combo. I play Sinister in defense. And set Scapegoat. He plays Shining Angel and attacks. Dont really care. I get something like and Axe and play a tribe in attack, ohh runs in to an old school card that still sees a little play in my area, Trap Hole. Well there goes my strategy. He goes and plays an Airknight. He attacks and I activated Scapegoat like it would do any good. He takes out a goat and its my go. I draw a Mystical Space like it would do any good. I play it on his face down, another Trap Hole. He goes and takes out a goat. My go finally. I draw a Premature Burial, play it on Tribe, use its affect clear his field, equip it with United We Stand and attack. He draws and..ends. I attack for the win and find out he had a Wingweaver and a couple other tributes in his hand.
Winner-Me
Me-8000, 6100, 4200, 3400
Him-8000, 4000, 0
Duel Two:
Let me just put it this way I dont even have to go into a long discussion about this one it was so short. Scapegoat + Jinzo+ United We Stand = J
Winner- Me
Me-8000, 9000, 10000 (Nimbles)
Him-8000, 1600, 0
Round Three: Me vs. Allen (Gravity Bind)
Now I have faced some easy competition so far, but not now. Im facing a Gravity Bind Deck that was just like mine, use penguin soldier with a pumped up Hayabusa Knight on the field and attack. Well here it goes. My first Class A person.
Duel One:
He just won by humiliating a guy by beating him with Sasukes, so he was ready for some laughs and so was I. Since we both like to joke we agreed to play the monster in our hands with the lowest attack first, in attack mode. He plays Yata, true to his word. It goes back and he plays two cards face down. Since I knew one was Gravity Bind I destroyed them with my Heavy Storm. Then I played the monster in my hand with the lowest attack, Fiber Jar. I played Forceful, sent Yata back, equipped my Fiber with an Axe, set a Magic Cylinder and a Ring, and attacked his life points with a Fiber Jar (kind of weird huh?). I knew what he had in his hand 2 Axes. He draws and laughs and tells me Im about to be humiliated, he plays a Sasuke, equips him with the two Axes, and attacks. When I spring Cylinders on him he totally lost all the color in his face. I play Snatch Steal, which I just drew, took his Sasuke and attacked, plus having a Ring on the field kind of helped take out his life points.
Winner- Me
Me-8000, 5500 ( I know I could have just attacked and took out his life points, but I didnt want Sasuke on the field for some reason)
Him-8000, 6500, 4000, 2500, 0
Duel Two:
Im not even going to tell you about this one. I did get humiliated. I had 300 life points, when he sprung Penguin Soldier to remove the monsters from my field, then attacked with a Sasuke for some laughs.
Winner-Him
Me-8000, 6000, 5500, 4750, 4000, 1600, 1100, 500, 300(Yata), 0
Him-6400, 5900 (Haha still hit you with Fiber)
Duel Three:
Never Happened. He had to go along with his brother that just made it to the finals making me the automatic winner of absolutely no free packs because the owner is so cheap.
Props:
Me winning
Me winning with Fiber Jar
Me getting a Torrential in a trade for a Thousand Dragon (from a collector, not a newbie)
Slops:
Me losing by a Sasuke
Not winning the right way
Cheap Store Owner
Selling Torrential for $15 and then finding out that the Vampire Lord in our store for sale is $30. Well $15 more to go.
