ROUND 1    (me vs. what’s-her-face)

Duel 1

This duel was so easy I kinda felt sorry for her (considering how apparent it was that she was a beginner). She was playing a decent dragon deck but her skills couldn’t back up the deck. This first one was so slow that the neighboring duel next to me was already over by our second turn! Anyway, I started off breaking a Magic Jammer and from there on attacked her directly for 2 turns straight. I guess she couldn’t summon a monster….anyway, it was over in about 4 or 5 turns.

What’s-her-face  8000>6900>4300>1900>1100>0

Me                      8000>7400

Duel 2

All I could remember this duel was that she summoned a Blue-Eyes White Dragon and attacked me with my own Jinzo somewhere down the line with the help of a bystander (even though helping is illegal, and even though most players get disqualified for it, it wasn’t my style to win by default, especially since this one was in the bag).

What’s her-face  8000>6100>5300>3700>2600>900>0

Me                      8000>3100>2300>2200

ROUND 2    (me vs. Daniel Radcliff [how come I don’t have a cool last name!!??] )

Duel 1

Everything this game was a blur. All I remember was that this kid was acting retarded, so I did too to throw him off guard (actually it doesn’t make sense why I did that now that I think about it). But, I do remember that I lost because my Dark Magician of Chaos was sitting in my hand for quite a while leaving me open and also my enemy controller had been Mystical Space Typhooned before I even had a chance to use it……grrrr………

Radcliff     8000>6100>4500>1700

Me            8000>6100>5300>3100>1200>0

Duel 2

This duel, like the last one, I also didn’t remember very well. Although I somehow managed pulling off summoning a lot of monsters in one turn and attacking him directly. An amazing two turn victory for me (that wasn’t a Yata-lock).

Radcliff     8000>2200>0

Me            8000>5000

Duel 3

       Wave-motion cannon did 2000 LP damage to me and…….that’s it…(god, I must have alzheimer’s [old-timers] or something)

Radcliff     8000>6400>1000>0

Me            8000>7200>5200>3700

ROUND 3  (me vs. Alex)

Duel 1

This guy was HARD. He made my friend give up the tournament (It’s a cruel world Owen, but these are just cards). He was a 40-looking year old guy with his fancy-schmancy dragon sleeves. Weird….but then again I do meet the weirdest people here. This guy raped me the first duel. There was nothing I could do but frantically look for a way out as he used (in my opinion, cards that should banned from tournaments) Drop Off, and Time Seal. He used THE best control deck I’ve ever seen. People next to me were saying “good luck,” before I lost humiliatingly……my deck gathered dust when he was so cruel as to deny me the privilege of drawing cards…

Alex         8000>7000>6700

Me           8000>6600>2100>0

Duel 2

There was absolutely NO WAY I’d give this jerk the satisfaction of beating me in a match ( I mean, c’mon! He told me to discard my Swords by 2 of my turns in the last duel and then he dares to force me to do it AGAIN this duel?! This guy was just low). I side-decked in  2 or 3 Wabokus, Vampire Lord, and Yata~Garasu (control decks are also weak to Yata~Garasu too as they don’t have enough monsters to balance their spells and traps) just for him. Waboku really taught this guy a lesson not to destroy any of my cards, and Enemy Controller took care of his wretched Spirit Reaper. It was really attrition as we swapped blows….until………he summoned Vampire Lord..(GASP!). I was really screwed if he summoned another monster to assist his Vampire Lord..soo…I Torrential Tributed his Lord at first sight. He had 1-2 cards in hand, and so did I. I was waiting for something good….but..to no avail..i made a crude dent in his LP, set a card and ended my turn. His turn, he summons a Don Zaloog and strikes my monster…just what I didn’t want…or was it? MIRROR FORCE! Hooray! His LP are open again! I defended on my turn. His turn, for reasons unknown, decides NOT to summon V-lord (hmm..I’m not complaining…he must have been too preoccupied with what he drew). He negates my attacks until I summon a V-Lord of my own (hooray! No locks!) and then all of a sudden something clicks in his head that makes him remember to special summon his V-Lord on his turn. But he didn’t just bring it back via effect(I wouldn’t let him…he had forgotten….and had been cruel to me with my Swords), he brought it back with Monster Reborn and kamikazed both our lords(that must have been his strongest Attack monster if he wanted to get rid of mine that badly). By this time, there were about 3 people watching…we were almost out of deck, and most people had already finished their matches. I used my famous lucky draw technique and pulled my Black Luster Soldier to erase his monster and the remainder of his LP. Whew….longest duel….ever.

Alex    8000>7000>6700>6400>7400>7100>6900>5900>2400>100>0

Me      8000>7600>5500>4700>4600>3150>2550>850

Duel 3

This duel I started off strong Ringing his Tomato. Naturally, we traded blows like pros would. And as the tension mounted, I pulled off my signature “I could care less” act and started to nonchalantly pivot my head, looking at things across the room dreamily, as I shook my head side-to-side while jamming to my Final Fantasy music (“It’s all just a game, so let loose and have fun with it,” ~Hades, Kingdom Hearts). Hooray for psyching out 40 year old jerks! Yay! He fell prey to my uber-cheap Yata-lock when I drew Yata~Garasu in the last 5 minutes of the round (I normally hate cruelly locking people, as it takes out the fun of the game, but he deserved it). He was such a bad sport when he lost; he was devastated (but then again, I do have a history of devastating quite a few people with the luck of the draw [by the way I’m part Irish]).

Alex   8000>6600>6100>4100>2100>100>0

Me     8000>6600>5900>5200>4500>3800

ROUND 4 (me vs. Jimbo)

Duel 1

This guy puts up an AMAZING fight. He really beat up my Witch with his Ha Des, which wasn’t fun >_<. And he SERIOUSLY got on my nerves with his stall methods…it only takes a few Wabokus and Kuribohs to get me totally pissed off…oh well…it seems to work with his deck (which is really something else, check out his tournament report). I seriously foiled his plans with a little help from the seriously underrated Card Destruction. He claimed that he could have killed me with what was in his hand: Lava Golem, Waboku x2, and Magic Cylinder (I think). I barely came out alive. Scapegoat REALLY helped.

Jimbo   8000>7300>6600>4150>3050>1350>0

Me       8000>6100>4200>1750>50

Duel 2

This guy just doesn’t go down. He turned the duel around at the last moment and wiped me out.

Jimbo    8000>4500>500

Me        8000>7200>7150>0

Duel 3

This is it. He started off by setting 3 spell or trap cards face down. My move. I summon Breaker and Break the middle one. Whatd’ya know? He chains his Ring of Destruction with Barrel Behind the Door so I take 3400 damage first turn. I stall with Scapegoat and Waboku and proclaim to him, “YEAH! How does it feel now!?” He gets pissed and attacks me directly which was total ouchiesbawouchies at the time, but I pull off Cyber Jar in desperation. He summons Dark Ruler Ha-Des and drops me down to 850 LP. My turn. I Mystical Space Typhoon his last defense, which, if I remember correctly, was a Magic Cylinder (nice try).I was calculating a desperate attack in my head…..a final attack…if it was blocked by a Kuriboh, I would lose and I could get attacked and I’d have no way to stop it…but then again, this would be my ONLY chance and I had to take it. I summon Fiber Jar in attack mode! He almost thought I was joking, but I was dead serious…he knew what was coming…he saw it in my hand earlier with Cyber Jar…my Black Luster Soldier! But that alone wouldn’t be enough to take out 8000 LP in one turn compared to my measly 850. But coincidentally, I had Premature Burial in my hand, which I used to resurrect my Dark Magician of Chaos…and then I pulled back my Monster Reborn card which I used to respawn my Jinzo to the field. So, I had Sangan (it could have been another monster from Cyber Jar, I remember it had around 1000 attack), Black Luster Soldier, Dark Magician of Chaos, Jinzo, and Fiber Jar all on my field and attacked for the game….or was it? No, it wasn’t Kuriboh…he pointed out that he had around 950 LP left! I  had to point out to him that I actually DID attack twice with Black Luster instead of stupidly attacking with the soldier once, and then Jinzo, like he claimed. I could tell he was a little shaken when he lost, but he was the best sport of the tournament, and (as much as it pains me to say it) the most sane person I’ve fought who plays at a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament considering he didn’t cry, cuss me out, slap their hand of cards on the table( that’s me!), or deny my “good game” handshake.

Jimbo:   8000>0

Me:       8000>4600>850>50

ROUND 5 (me vs. some guy)

Duel 1

He played a warrior deck, the same kind I used to play. I remember so vividly him setting up a monster triumphantly and ending his turn. I would use Change of Heart on it and look to my surprise that It’d be a Marauding Captain..-.- I know no one else that sets a Captain face down but then again, he probably did it for the surprise factor. Anyway, he had a warrior to counter everything I had, but he didn’t fare too well against my scapegoats…5 turns must have past before he could kill 3!!!

Some guy:  8000>6900>6500>6000>4500>3100>1600>0

Me:             8000>6800>6100>4600>3900>3100

Duel 2

I only remember my Enemy Controller getting Mystical Space Typhooned yet again before I could use it. He also pulled out B. Luster Soldier on me by surprise and killed me…(in our practice duel before the tournament I’m sure he wasn’t using one).

Some guy:  8000>6400>2000

Me :            8000>7500>6700>3200>2400>0

Duel 3

This one was relatively short. At the very end, I Reborned my Dark Magician of Chaos and then Reborned my Injection Fairy Lily for the win.

Some guy:   8000>6500>5000>0

Me:              8000>5700>4200>2200

Hooray! I win! I’m Lovin’ It!
