Regionals in Georgia were today and I decided, once again, to NOT attend. I'll tell you why. The metagame in Yugioh is stale, boring, dull, repetitive and a total yawner. I did not want to drive for over an hour, pay 15 dollars to spend the next nine hours dueling the same deck over and over again. Simple as that. There is one more Regional event on Memorial day. Our team will be playing there, and I will go to that. It'll probably be just as predicatable but, I've altered my deck a little to hopefully counter it.

This week, I changed the deck again. I fiddled with it a lot to complete against the current metagame and everything I did that departed from the core strategy of the deck, failed miserably. So, I took it back closer to it's roots and changed the side deck to better combat the current meta. So, here it is this week.

OK, we get there and the store owner has just bought someone's entire collection of Holo's and Rares and he gives me the boxes and books to look through to see if I want anything. Oh my, there's a LOT of good stuff in there. He's sitting on a gold mine. I decide to purchase 2 first edition Marauding Captains, two Delinquent Duo (I ran out of them), three Kaibaman (for my upcoming Blue Eyes deck), and a first edition Tryant Dragon to replace the one that was stolen from me.

Speaking of cards that were stolen from me, I had several cards ripped off a couple of weeks ago. It's my own fault, because I am too trusting and I get distracted when people are looking through all of my binders (I usually have four with me at once). Well, I had the following stolen in one day. A first edition CED. A first edition BLS. A first edition DMoC. A Guardian Sphinx. A Silent Swordsman LV7. A Silent Swordsman LV3. A first edition Ultimate Creator. A Mystic Swordsman LV6. A Mystic Swordsman LV4. An Ultimate Gearfried the Swordmanster. A Swift Gaia the Firece Knight. A first edition Blowback Dragon. If whoever stole them is reading this, You SUCK.

I'm thinking this morning will be fairly easy because a lot of the best players are attending regionals this morning. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the players are good, but there is a certain caliber of player that attends regional events and a certain caliber of players that don't. The hard core, I'm serious and want to really win and get an invite to Nationals, type players are missing this morning so that really thins the competition down a lot. I predict to take either first or second place with relative ease, and also predict my daughter and I will face each other in the finals.

GAME 1
I get a really awful opening hand. I'm pretty sure I am going to get really spanked but, he attacks my Nimble and when I tribute Exiled for his Mad Dog, the Nimbles start hitting him for a couple of thousand and he keeps taking the attacks. Soon, I morph a token to TER and take his Jinzo. I MST his Jinzo to take his set Spirit Reaper and he starts top decking and I'm holding five cards.
He top decks Exiled Force and finally gets rid of TER but I summon TIV and ke keeps forgetting his Serpent in the graveyard so, I win pretty easily. 9500 - 0.

GAME 2
Total ownage. I morph a Mobius to Ryu Senshi, tribute a Nimble for another Mobius, he chains his Waboku but I negate it and smash him. He does Freed the Brave Wanderer's effect on Mobius for some reason, and I kill him next turn when I top deck Snatch Steal. 7000 - 0.

GAME 1
On his first turn, he set's 3 S/T cards and summons Breaker. I take a huge chance and play Heavy Storm and Lighting Vortex, followed by summoning my Spirit Reaper and taking out a card from his hand, leaving him with one card. That was a big risk, but one I felt I could take and it paid off. Then I draw Delinquent and he's top decking by turn three.

GAME 2
It was brutal. I open by NoCing both our Magicians but it doesn't matter. He plays Mind Control on my Nimble and attacks me with his summoned Breaker, but I gain life and two NImbles next turn and Zaborg and Mobius take care of the rest.

What? Mantis is stupid. I have to play the same guy I dueled in the previous round, like it mattered. It's not really fair to him and sometimes, I feel it's not fair to me, either.

GAME 1
My Bottomless Trap Hole takes out the two monsters he tries to summon on consecutive turns, allowing my Nimbles to nibble away at his LP. He doesn't draw any monsters after that and Mobius takes care of him. When he manages to set a monster, I tribute my last Nimble for Zaborg and lill off his Cyber Jar. GG.

GAME 2
This one actually went a fairly long time. I thought he had a Magician of Faith set when I had 4 monsters on the field and he had nothing but a set S/T and one set monster. Well, it was his Cyber Jar and when I attacked it, it gave us both big hands and the duel went on a little longer. The Cyber Jar hurt a little, because I was winning by such a large margin and it could have been GG by the next turn.

I take the 2000LP damage from the Gorilla, but that's all I take. He attacks my Nimble, then Mobius and Zaborg take care of anything else he decides to do.

Well, my prediciton came true. My daughter and I face each other in the finals. I never lost a duel all day and she only lost one. I decide to scoop to her and she accepts. I wanted her to get the win.

I am working on a deck that I tested out between tournament duels today. Oh my goodness it was sick! It is a ridiculous total anti meta deck and if I don't win by the second or third turn, it's going to be difficult. It's sort of a suicide beatdown because it uses up my resources really fast but it's deadly when it works....Ben Kei anyone? Ouch.....13,300 damage in one turn.
