KONAMI DIGITAL
ENTERTAINMENT, INC. TO
LAUNCH Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING
CARD GAME
REGIONAL QUALIFER
TOURNAMENTS THROUGHOUT
LATIN AMERICA
Mexico City, MEX
(December 21, 2009) –
Konami Digital
Entertainment, Inc.
(KDE), the force behind
the world’s most popular
trading card game – the
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s TRADING
CARD GAME (TCG) – is
pleased to announce the
company’s plans to
launch regional
qualifier tournaments
throughout Latin
America.
“By once again holding
these premier level
events in Latin America,
it gives us the chance
to reward the Duelists
who have strongly
supported the Yu-Gi-Oh!
TRADING CARD GAME over
the years,” commented
Yumi Hoashi, vice
president of Card
Business for Konami
Digital Entertainment,
Inc. “In fact, these
events will provide more
Duelists from all over
Latin America the
opportunity to
participate in high
level Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING
CARD GAME competitions.”
KDE and its partner
Devir Latinoamérica will
begin accepting
applications in early
January from those
stores and tournament
organizers that have the
capacity and
capabilities to hold a
regional qualifier (must
have capacity for 60 or
more players).
Taking a step away from
the norm, there will be
two Continental
Championships, one for
Duelists in Mexico and
Central America, and the
other in South America.
The top players from the
two Continental
Championships will
receive invitations to
the 2010 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG
World Championship,
which will be held in
the United States later
in the summer of 2010.
