Thanks, Joshua, for sending in this deck. You didn't specify a lot, other than to improve the deck, but I'll see what I can do. It looks like all the cards are in Standard, so we'll stick to those. I also only see one card that costs more than a couple dollars, so I'll assume the budget is limited.

First off, what is this deck doing? His deck has a good strategy, and Joshua's done a lot right. There are a number of small creatures, a number of ways to make tokens, and good ways to utilize the army to convoke out more stuff. He has ways to mess with his opponents, and a few big powerful cards to really put the pressure on.

After looking at it a while, I think there are a few things we can do to improve what he's got going on here. The first card I see that gives me pause is Paragon of New Dawns. At four mana, he's a little slow for what he does, and is pretty fragile himself. You don't have a lot of big creatures in this deck that you want to use the second ability for, either. So, let's drop him. In his place, I'd like to put a cheaper creature that can do some big business: Seeker of the way. For only 2 mana, he comes out much more quickly, will be useful sooner to help convoke, and you have enough non-creature spells that you will be pumping him up to 3/3 pretty often.

-3 Paragon of New Dawns

+4 Seeker of the Way

The second card I'm not so sure about is Dictate of Heliod.  While the +2/+2 effect can certainly be a blowout, I fear that at 5 mana, it's going to sit in your hand too often. Plus, if you're short on creatures, this is not a useful draw. To help with both of these shortcomings, but still give you the potential for a huge pump, let'Master of Pearlss change those to Master of Pearls. The benefit here is that you have options. If you're low on mana or just need a body, you can play him straight up as a 2/2 for 2. If you need the pump, make him a morph creature and surprise the opponent when he flips. Either way, you have an additional body to help convoke instead of a 5 mana card sitting in your hand.

-2 Dictate of Heliod

+2 Master of Pearls

Speaking of high casting costs, Mass Calcify is a little much. I would like to take those out. Also, while we're talking about opposing creatures, I think we can do better than Glimpse the Sun God. Instead of paying 7 mana or tapping a number of things once, let's go for a cheaper and more flexible answer: Banishing Light. It can hit their annoying creature, enchantment, planeswalker, or whatever's causing you grief.

-2 Mass Calcify

-2 Glimpse the Sun God

+3 Banishing Light

God-favored General has never worked out for me as well as I wanted him to. His 1 toughness means that he won't survive combat without some help, but his inspired ability begs him to be tapped. Sure, you could use him to convoke, and that works nicely, but then you still have to invest 3 mana next untap step. I think there's another card that will achieve a similar result a little more reliably: Herald of Anafenza. The Herald is a card that can come in on turn 1 and put pressure on immediately.

-4 God-favored General

+4 Herald of Anafenza

There's one more card that fits your strategy perfectly and is just begging to be put in this deck: Heliod, God of the Sun. With all the white permanents, he'll often be a creature. He provides a good place to spend extra mana later in a game. But best of all, he solves a problem for you: Do I attack with this creature OR use it for convoke. With Heliod out, you can do both! Attack with your vigilant creatures, then use them second main phase to convoke, or in Anafenza's case, to outlast. To make room, we'll prune off oHeliod, God of the Sunne each of your most expensive cards. You don't want to run the risk of having multiples of any of these.

-1 Seraph of the Masses

-1 Triplicate Spirits

+2 Heliod, God of the Sun

Now, to the sideboard. Here, I would put back in the Mass Calcify to help you deal with opposing decks that have a bunch of (non-white) creatures. Next, one of the weaknesses of White is that there aren't many ways to draw more cards. So, if we can't have more cards, let's make sure that blue player can't get any either: Spirit of the Labyrinth. Gods Willing should be a nice help against decks that like to target your key creatures for removal, and one more Banishing Light will help deal with various other threats. To make room, let's get rid of First Response. It's way too defensive and reactive of a card. You have many better ways of getting tokens, and I can't think of many times that this is what I'd want more than something in your main deck. We'll also drop the single copies of Paragon of New Dawns, Seraph of the Masses, and Devouring Light.

-4 First Response

-1 Paragon of New Dawns

-1 Seraph of the Masses

-1 Devouring Light

+2 Mass Calcify

+2 Spirit of the Labyrinth

+2 Gods Willing

+1 Banishing LightBanishing Light

Hopefully, these ideas help you out. You might not choose to make all these changes, but if you did, the deck would look something like this:

1 Soul of Theros

2 Seraph of the Masses

4 Herald of Anafenza

4 Seeker of the Way

2 Archetype of Courage

2 Heliod, God of the Sun

1 Elspeth, Sun's Champion

3 Launch the Fleet

3 Hall of Triumph

2 Master of Pearls

4 Raise the Alarm
3 Triplicate Spirits

3 Devouring Light

3 Banishing Light

23 Plains

Sideboard (15)

4 Selfless Cathar

4 Sanctified Charge

2 Mass Calcify

2 Spirit of the Labyrinth

2 Gods Willing

1 Banishing Light

PS: Here are a few other cards that would be ideal for this deck if you feel like investing a little more money:

Brimaz, King of Oreskos - He's the king for a reason. There's no better for attacking early and keeping the pressure on, but be prepared to shell out about $20 for each copy. He could take the place of Archetype of Courage.

Wingmate Roc - Most of the time he gives you two 3/4 fliers. That's a pretty good value for 5 mana. I might play these over the Seraphs.

Monastery Mentor - From the new Fate Reforged set which is officially legal in just a few days, the Mentor turns all your non-creatures into free tokens...that get bigger when you play more non-creatures. Early estimates have this guy going for at least $20 a pop as well. He's an even better choice than Seeker of the Way.
