Top 10 List - Top 10 Underused Cards
This one's been done a
few times, but it's just fun to do.
10. Drop Off
Trap
This card can only be activated during your opponent's Draw
Phase. Your opponent immediately discards whatever they
drew.
Geez, don't people realize this is the unbanned Time Seal?
Just trash a card for no cost. It's not even bad in
topdecking wars because it kills anything your opponent
might have topdecked.
9. Chain Burst
Continuous Trap
Each time a player activates a trap card, they take 1000
damage after it resolves.
A good deterrant to traps, and solid burn if they do use
one. Most people stick with Decree, although Chain Burst can
have a bigger impact down the stretch.
8. Mysterious Guard:
3 Stars
800 ATK/1200 DEF
Flip: Return one face-up monster to the top of the owner's
deck. If you have a warrior on your side of the field, you
can return another face up monster to the top of the owner's
deck.
Wow, you get rid of a monster, create deck disruption, and
put your opponent at a -1. Even better if you bounce a
tribute monster.
7. Cold Wave
Magic
Activates only at the start of your main phase one. Neither
player can play or set spell or traps until your next turn.
This is seeing play in certain control decks, but should be
a staple in DAD and all beatdowns. Prevents traps so you can
attack freely for a turn and your opponent cant use a magic
or trap to retaliate on their turn.
6. Back to Square One
Magic
Discard one card. Return one monster on the field to the top
of the owner's deck.
Like Mysterious Guard but better because you can use it
immediately. It puts you at a -1, but does the same to your
opponent. And you can take advantage by attacking after
you've cleared your opponent's threat.
5.
Reflect Bounder
4 Stars
1700 ATK/1000 DEF
When it's attacked while in attack mode, your opponent loses
life points equal to the ATK of the monster they're
attacking with. If Mobius attacks it, you lose 700 and your
opponent loses 2400.
I guess this doesn't see play because of how easy it is to
remove a face up monster without attacking. That doesn't
stop this thing from being a great burner/defender, and has
decent ATK as well.
4. Nobleman of Extermination
Magic
Removes from play one face down spell or trap. If it's a
trap, both players remove all copies from their deck.
A lot like Twister except it hits face down cards and has no
cost. Most magics and traps will be face down anyway until
they want to activate them, so this is pretty close to a
MST.
3. Question
Magic
Your opponent guesses the bottom monster in your graveyard
(they cant look), if they call it right it's removed from
play, if they call it wrong its special summoned to your
side of the field.
People don't realize how easy it is to plan for this, and to
dictate which is the first monster you have that dies.
Imagine this: Lightning vortex, you discard a monster of
your choice, destroy your opponent's monster/monsters, and
Vortex instantly covers up the monster you discarded in the
graveyard. This is one of the few revive-from-the-grave
cards that don't involve zombies, so take advantage since 2
of those are banned.
2. Kaiser Glider
6 Stars
2400 ATK
Not destroyed when it battles another monster with the same
ATK as it. When it's destroyed you can return 1 monster on
the field to the owner's deck.
It dispenses with all monarchs and Jinzo, and returns a
monster to the hand. What more needs to be said?
1. Zero Gravity
Trap
Switch the battle positions of all face up monsters on the
field.
Why? This card is so good against both beatdown and stall.
Getting swarmed with strong monsters? Use this, protects you
and you can attack them and take advantage of most monster's
relatively low defense. Hate Reaper and Marshmallon? Switch
them to Attack mode and attack for a @#$%-load of damage. So
many uses.
