Wind-Up Kitten, one of the most un-adorable kittens I've ever seen, is a Level 2, Earth attributed, Beast type Monster, with 800 attack and 500 defense.  This is one of those cards that's actually fairly useful, if only for one time.  The attack and defense aren't going to win any contests, but this, as I referred to earlier in the week, is a card that actually could be a splashable piece of Tech outside the Wind-Up Deck.  Our feline friend allows you to target one Monster your opponent controls and return it to his/her Hand.  Obviously useful, return something powerful, something preferably that required a lot of investment to bring out.  If it's the right Monster, ridding the Field of it can totally shatter your opponent's strategy.

We have cute little Wind-Up for you today, that packs a big effect. Wind-Up Kitten may look innocent enough, but if your opponent has a big monster on the field or a monster that is disrupting your strategy like Archlord Kristya, Kitten is your answer. Say good by to those pesky synchro monsters like Stardust Dragon, Naturia Beast, and Naturia Barkion. Laugh at those stubborn Xyz monsters like Gachi Gachi Gantetsu, Steelswarm Roach, and Wind-Up Zenmaines. Of course, it would be a benefit if we had Wind-Up Magician or Factory on the field to gain another card in advantage.

Getting our cute little mechanical kitten to the field is not very difficult. We can use Monster Reborn, Call of the Haunted, or Limit Reverse in addition to Wind-Up Rat to special summon Wind-Up Kitten. You can special summon it from the deck with Super-Nimble Mega Hamster, Giant Rat, and Wind-Up Magician. Or you can search for it with Sangon and Wind-Up Factory.

Wind-Up Kitten is a great card in today’s special summon meta. All it has to worry about are cards like Effect Veiler, Herold of the Orange Light, and Chain Disappearance. This is one Wind-Up that you could consider side decking. Too bad it has such terrible stats, but maybe that is because it has such a great effect.

We're in the home stretch here on Wind-Up week on pojo. Today's card is a cute little thing by the name of Wind-Up Kitten. Kitten is a level 2 Earth/Beast with 800 ATK and 500 DEF, but what Kitten lacks in claws, it makes up for in tricks. Kitten can return a monster your opponent controls from the field to their hand. Of course, like most Wind-Ups, Kitten can only do this once while it is face up. First thing, Kitten's effect works on face up and set monsters, so it can get around Spy, Ryko, any large monster, Xyz or synchro alike. Kitten is a great card, and can be useful in other decks outside of Wind-Ups. Cards like Book of Moon, Spring Rewinding, and Beast Soul Swap can get more of of Kitten. Like yesterday's card, Effect Veiler, Forbidden Lance, Skill Drain and other cards that negates effect can declaw Kitten. Other than that, look for Kitten to make a splash in tournaments soon.

Hello my fellow Pojo-goers. I am terribly sorry about my absence; it is mid-term season for me.

Wind-Up Kitten
Beast/ Earth/ lv 2/ 800 ATK/ 500 DEF

Just like ever non-xyz wind-up monster, its effect can only be activated once while it’s face up. Its effect is that you can bounce back one monster on the field to the hand. Long story short, this cute little cat-launcher has a built in Compulsory Evacuation Device.

Depending on the build you run, this can replace the Snail that you may be running. My version is a Fuh-Rin-Kah-Zan build and I might not have room for this useful little guy, but it is in the works.
The basic play that I can see with this card while you have an active magician is summon Kitten, activate effect, bounce a monster, use magician’s effect to get another kitten, bounce a monster, and xyz into Gachi Gachi Gantetsu xyz.

"It's soooo cute I can't stand it! I have to get out of here!!!"

Not really, but that's basically what he does and he does it well. The worst thing that can happen with high level monsters, synchros, XYZs, conditional special summons and even fusions are for them to be bounced back to the hand, or in the case of all those white, black and purple-framed monster cards, back to the extra deck. Kitten can ruin anyone's day, but it's hard to hate something so cute. He really can be a nightmare if played at the right time and only needs to hit the field for his effect to activate, making him one of the single most useful WU monsters. I would definately run a few copies in any WU deck and his ease of use makes him a great splash card in any other deck.
