Appropriately, at least in my opinion, this card is the second best card in the set, and the best XYZ Monster.  Heroic Champion-Excalibur is a beast.  This guy clearly should be a Machine, just putting that out there, but we have a Rank 4, Light attributed, Warrior type Monster, with 2000 attack and defense.  By discarding an XYZ Material from Excalibur, his attack is doubled to a whopping 4000.  Now, if that weren't awesome enough, it doesn't last until the End of your turn, but until the End of your opponent's next turn.  How beautiful is that?  Heroic Champion-Excalibur will end many a game my friends.  He's great support for his Archytpe, and equally good, if not better, outside of his own Deck.

We are down to the last two cards so you know they must be good. Today’s card is one of those cards that I would rate as a staple extra deck card for a Warrior deck. With two simple level 4 warrior monsters, you can Xyz summon Heroic Champion – Excalibur and attack for at least 4000 points of damage or get over that huge monster your opponent controls. I know what you are thinking. Yes, but we already have Blade Armor Ninja which can attack for 4400 in damage. By all means, keep that monster in your extra deck, but make sure you add this one as well; because Excalibur can do things that the Ninja can not.

If your opponent has a boss monster out with over 2200 attack, Excalibur is your answer. If your opponent has 4000 or less life points with no cards on the field and at least one card in hand, Excalibur is the card to attack with as Blade Armor Ninja’s first attack may just hit a Gorz and ruin your whole day. If you have a Miracle Fusion in your hand and need both of your monsters on the field to summon say Elemental HERO the Shinning for a total of 7200 in damage then you need Excalibur to ditch both of them to the graveyard. If your opponent has no monsters or answers then an additional Bubbleman would mean game.

Let’s take a look at the Heroic archetype real quick. All of the Xyz monsters are called Champion while the effect monsters are called Challenger. There is a monster called Heroic Challenger – Double Lance that can summon another Double Lance from the hand or Graveyard making it easy to summon Excalibur. The Heroic theme is all about power-ups and it has a card called Heroic Chance that doubles the attack of your Heroic Champion – Excalibur to 8000 attack. Can anyone say “GG”? By the way, Heroic Champion – Excalibur is also a light monster so if your opponent has a monster in attack mode, a well played Honest will make you a pro. Yes really, trust me on this.

If you are playing a Warrior themed deck like Heroic, X-Saber, Six Samurai, and Elemental HERO’s, then you will definitely want to make room a Heroic Champion – Excalibur.

Chopping his way to #2 on our list is Heroic Champion - Excalibur. This guy may not look like much with him being a Rank 4 Xyz monster, needing 2 level 4 Warrior type monsters and stats of 2000 ATK and DEF, his effect has OTK written all over him and his sword.

Once per turn, you can detach 2 Xyz materials from this card: This card's ATK becomes double it's original ATK until your opponent's next end phase.

Getting him on the field is rather easy. In a Six Samurai build, you can get Excalibur out on your first turn if you tried. Rescue Rabbit can get you two normal Warrior-Type monsters. Even Ninjas and Photons decks can use Excalibur as well. Now for his effect, being 2000 ATK and DEF off the bat is pretty good. But Excalibur can double his attack to 4000 when you remove 2 Xyz materials from it. That can usually end a game right there if it attacks directly. But you can use other cards like Honest to really lay in the damage after raising his ATK. If your opponent manages to survive all that, you can use cards like Overlay Regen and Spirit Converter to get 2 more Xyz materials back on Excalibur to do it over again. This guy can and will end games real quick if he hits the field.

Tomorrow: X = our number 1 card.

Heroic Champion Excalibur

My personal favorite card in the set. I love warriors, and this will be very welcome to my arsenal.
Samurais/elemental heros/destiny heros and more will benefit from this. Easy to summon card, and can be 4k attack allowing you to take any monster down or hit for game? You are going to run this card if you can make it, staple
