A mambele is a knife, but I’m not sure how this
spell card got its TCG name. In Japan, this card’s
name is “Dark Genocide Cutter” which was the name of
the attack of Armed Dragon LV7 in the anime, hence
why that monster is in the card art and the effect
recalls the effect of Dark Armed Dragon.
Unfortunately, I don’t find Dark Mambele nearly as
impressive as DAD.
We live in a different era, and spell speed 1 cards
that target and require set up before only giving
you a 1-for-1 never make the cut anymore. Gone are
the days of Smashing Ground. Heck, Raigeki is barely
considered in even low-tier decks now. Despite the
fact that this spell banishes, it simply cannot be
counted on in this high-speed game that demands
great utility. This is not a good spell, and
honestly, it’s almost like this card forgot to show
up during the days of DAD, when it might have been
A 1 for 1 removal card with banishing would be
great, but the requirements here are too steep.
You need 3 DARK monsters (on the field).
That's 4 cards total. In Yugioh, it's just
hard to have more than 1 or 2 monsters on the board
at a time because survivability is generally low.
It's a bad card early game and a bad card late game.
Had it only required 1 DARK monster, it would've
Hello Pojo Fans,
Dark Mambele is a nifty little card for DARK-based
Simple to use, requirements easily reached, and
potentially devastating for your opponent. If you
have 3 or more DARK monsters, you can play this
card. Banish any face-up card on the field. While
this seems like nothing really at first, this card
helps avoid any effect that would trigger in the
grave or upon destruction. This can help you gain
advantage over your opponent, or feed a strategy
around banishing. Three DARK monsters on the field
can also seem like a lot, but with Burning Abyss,
D/D/D, and Darklords able to swarm the field in a
flash, this card could be something fun for those
types of decks to use. It not being a Quick-Play
hurts it a little, as going after that leftover
spell/trap your opponent has could result in your
field being wrecked by a Torrential Tribute or
losing out on a monster from a Solemn-based Counter
It could be a fun card to play test, but since you
need 3 to activate it and it's not a Quick-Play, I'd
only consider running 1 at most. Twin Twister still
is best, followed closely by MST.
Dark Mambele is such a simple Normal Spell Card.
All you need to do is control 3 Dark monsters to
target and banish any face-up card on the field. One
for ones are nice, but this has a hefty requirement.
If you control 3 Dark monsters, you should be
winning already. Dark Armed Dragon is cool because
he has high Atk and banishes things. This card only
helps swarms one time. Nobleman of Crossout doesn't
cut it for similar reasons. The conditions to
activate the card aren't going to occur
consistently. And the payoff isn't really worth it.
It's honestly easier to run Macro Cosmos and Raigeki
to get a better effect more consistently.
