Out of the Flames raised the Dragon, it's head roaring defiance to all who opposed it. Beside the dragon rest his best friend, Ultimate Insect.

Hello everybody, wow did I get a lot of e-mails, a lot of e-mails. Armed Dragon is a very popular monster. Now a lot of the decks I got where put together very nicely, they posed great logic and some true insight into the mechanics of this game. But the problem I was having with most of them was simply that they where just armed dragon oriented. I got a lot of great decks, like Matt Gibson's which primary focus is on the use of Armed Dragon, here is the deck he sent me……

Most of the others where of some variation, different monsters, a thrown in LV. 10 etc. And they all are very usable and quite sturdily built. But to my astonishment, the most synergetic and creative idea came from, guess it, a 6 year old prodigy by the name of Tatiana Newell.

I absolutely love this girl, she has devised a method of using armed dragon with ultimate insect. Now hold on how does this make sense. It makes perfect sense, as was explained, you see armed dragon requires you to discard monsters to destroy monsters on your opponents field with equal or lower attack. Ultimate insect(s) lower the attacks of your opponents monsters by some increment. Thus creating synergy by allowing the monster you discard to give you more bite. I now present you with her wind deck….

1 Armed Dragon LV5
1 Armed Dragon LV7
2 Fusilier Dragon The Dual Mode Beast
1 Ultimate Insect LV5
1 Ultimate Insect LV7

1 4-Starred Ladybug of Doom
2 Armed Dragon LV3
1 Cyber Harpy Lady

1 Swords of Revealing Light

2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Dust Tornado
2 Sakeretsu Armor
1 Spiritual Wind Art Miyabi
1 Torrential Tribute

TOTAL: 47 CARDS

Look at it, admire it, because this is genius. We have a wind deck that uses the power of Flying Kamakiri #1 will search for both armed dragon LV 3 and Ultimate Insect LV 3. Thus we have an effective level deck that can focus on using cards like LV. Up on 2 types of monsters. Also notice the use of Fusilier Dragon The Duel Mode Beast. Genius, a 2800 normal summon monster (thus it can protect your life points) and be great tribute fodder for Armed Dragon Lv. 7

I have never used this deck, but from what her dad says, it packs some mean bite. Good God, I love it just from first sight. Today's article is to point out a special and very gifted yu-gi-oh player and as a means of fixing her deck. (I believe that anybody with such creativity deserves credit and needs to be recognized.)

First thing I notice is that her deck has 47 cards. So these needs to be fixed.

Also, I personally have a friend who is much more capable of doing the job of Harpy Lady, or even Cyber Harpy Lady. His name, Sleight Warrior.

Along the idea of thinning out extra fat, we come to des lacooda, swarm of locust, and swarm of scarabs. This deck can not properly protect these monsters, due to the lack of gravity-bind and such. This in turn makes their effect, while so cool, almost unlikely to pull off. So they will be dropped.

Spiritual Wind Art-Miyabi, though cool, is technically not providing the deck any advantage. It is giving it s negative one. (the card, the monster, for one card on opponent. Field) thus it must go bye (as Chazz says) because the deck already has a potential to draw bad hands.

Mountain is another card that really doesn't do anything to aid in the decks win condition, which is over powering….

4-Starred Lady Bug of Doom, I personally prefer man-eater bug because it has a cooler picture:P But in all honesty we have a deck that uses monsters from the hand as a means of destroying stuff. Plus man-eater at least is guaranteed to destroy something. Ladybug, though posses great potential, is probably a bad first turn set because most people summon cyber dragon and spirit reaper, thus we have nothing to destroy. Also, face downs are a bigger threat then face up monsters. For in life, that what we do not know is what can and will defeat us.

Level Modulation is also another card I think is not all to great. In a silent magician deck, it has some combos, but in this, why does it need it?

Lightning Vortex is also not as good as dark hole. I know, I know but still; we are running a deck that already is going to lead in hand depletion. And dark hole is far superior to vortex, heck it is a cookie:P

I do not like Graveyard in the Fourth Dimension because pot of avarice is far superior. It allows you to take 5 monsters back into your deck and draw 2 cards. Thus it serves the same purpose and more.

Dust Tornado is there to help my body as a shield, because we do not want face downs hurting us.

Also, I know a lot of people like Twin-Headed Behemoth. I am one who is iffy. Based on personal preference, the card just seems weak. It is a 2 for one, and a defensive wall, but as Jae pointed out, so is spirit reaper. So I will use spirit reaper, just a preference thing. At least he is a more "permanent" wall.

So here is my fix…..

TOTAL: 42 CARDS

That is my fix. I want all of you to try out this deck. Some cards you could experiment with would be Silpheed (I think that is how you spell it) or you can go the stall (this version is much more agro) and use the des lacooda and other flippers. Brain control or soul exchange might work as well, sense we do have some tributes. But my intent is to bring out the armed dragons or ultimate insect and allow them to evolve. Also, a friend by the name of Alan pointed out that light of intervention is great when used with the dragon.  Ceasefire is also good.

This idea is very cool. I want all of you to try it out and let me know what you think, how to improve it, etc. I can see it now, the dragon and the bug standing side by side.

Hope you all enjoyed, keep the articles and decks coming, I really do love Yu-Gi-Oh. It is just fun.

My next articles will be about my revisions to the decks based off your input. I also hope you all enjoyed my first articles, hopefully many more will be coming. If I do not post something for a time period, try and understand I am in college and yu-gi-oh, sad to say, is not my first priority. So if I ever go long periods without posts, I still am thinking of all you and plan on writing more.

I got some weird decks coming to you, like mokey mokey, ojama monsters, and others. But testing is needed and I must at least get that done.

Also, on a side note; my favorite card is BEWD and I have made decks using him. I have the ritual version death jester was so kind to show me and I have my own builds looking to get out the fusion. But I have never-ever used blue-eyes shining dragon. If anyone has such a deck or ever experimented with such a deck, let me know. I really want to see him used. Come on he is one of the coolest monsters ever made, he can even beat the god cards:p.

Thank You's to everybody who sent me an e-mail concerning this deck.  I am glad to see that I am not the only one tired of playing the same old thing.
