Terminal World is a really weird card, and a direct reference to the Duel Terminal machines. There's no Main Phase 2 in the Duel Terminal duels, so activating this card will have the same effect.

It doesn't really do anything. Unless you're using a Time-Eater deck, which isn't very good, this isn't going to have any sizeable impact unless you're really lucky. The second Main Phase is hardly used, aside from Synchros with monsters summoned through recruiter effects in the Battle Phase.

Stick with a card that will have a more direct effect on the duel. For stopping Synchro shennanigans, try Compulsory Evacuation Device or Penguin Soldier.

1.5/5

Fun Fact: A Duel Terminal is a license to print money.
Tomorrow: From a Duel Terminal.

Today's card is Terminal World, a freaky deeky card that screws the rules. It's a continuous magic card that prevents players from having a main phase 2. Weird... I mean, it may give your opponent a headache trying to play around it, but... I can't really see any situation or deck that would warrant running this card. Unless you just like screwing with people's heads.

Terminal World is a very strange card. Neither player gets a Main Phase 2. There are a few other phase skipping cards, and none of them see play. So, why would you play Terminal World?

To make good use of it, you need to find cards that would be good during the Battle Phase or Main Phase 1, but you don't normally play at those times because your opponent will just use their Main Phase 2 to play things. An example would be Malevolent Catastrophe. Sure it clears the field, but they'll just set new defenses after the Battle Phase. With Terminal World they wouldn't have that option, being forced to set their cards before attacking into Catastrophe (Keep in mind this is not an ideal example since Catastrophe would destroy Terminal World too).

One cool trick is to combine Terminal World with Timeater. Your opponent will be restricted to drawing a card, then immediately battling, then ending their turn. Timeater will be a lot more playable when Extreme Victory is released, thanks to the new exclusive card Psychic Shockwave which can summon it from the deck. I'm sure some form of lockdown deck can be created with this combo.

Outside of a few unplayed cards and future craziness with Timeater, Terminal World isn't really worth the deck space. It would be a lot more powerful if it skipped the first Main Phase, which is the much more important one. As it is it'll just earn you some strange looks from other players.
