This card can
only be Special Summoned by removing 1 LIGHT and 1
DARK monster in your Graveyard from play. Once
during each of your turns, you can remove 1 face-up
monster on the field from play. If you activate this
effect, this card cannot attack during this turn.

Chaos Sorcerer closes our week, who over the course
of time finally made his way to being Unrestricted
again. So it's the malformed cousin of Black Luster
Soldier--Envoy of the Beginning. 2300 attack 2000
defense, same Special Summoning requirement, and can
attack once, or remove a monster from play. Chaos
Sorcerer wasn't salvation for those who needed
"Chaos" when he could be played at one...or at two,
and he still isn't. Even if you bring this out
after whatever your opponent is using to destroy
you, that's one removal, maybe, and then the 2300
attack comes into play, and Chaos Sorcerer dies. I
mean, you can quickly use him, remove something, and
maybe throw out a Tuner, and use him for Synchro
Summon, he is Level 6 after all.

Chaos Sorceror is the only remnant of the Chaos
Era (but nobody misses it). When Black Luster
Soldier went, this guy was the only Chaos monster
left, but was still more than enough to take over
the game. Times have passed, and now he's much
easier to take down, but also much easier to summon.
The quick and cheap removal effect tears apart
hard-to-summon monsters like Synchros, and gives so
much versatility to him, even wrecking cards like
Marshmallon or anything with boosting or timer
effects Chaos Sorceror is back at 3 and just waiting
to be abused, but the only issue is that Chaos decks
aren't very good.

Art: He's all like, ligh and dark woah!
Fun Fact: It's CHAOS, NOT TWILIGHT.
Tomorrow: No Twilight.

Has any card had quite the same journey through
the Forbidden & Limited list like Chaos Sorcerer?
After spending so many years forbidden from play,
duelists can now use three copies of Chaos Sorcerer.
There's a reason so many copycats like Sky Scourge
Enrise or Enishi, Shien's Chancellor exist. It's
because Chaos Sorcerer really is that good.
At 2300 ATK and 2000 DEF, he's a bit below where
you'd like him to be.
He can take out level 4 monsters or Cyber Dragon in
battle, but that's about it. Of course, his effect
means you really don't care how big the other
monster is. Since Chaos Sorcerer isn't destroying
anything, not even Stardust Dragon or Musakani
Magatama can stop it.
It's the summoning conditions that give Chaos
Sorcerer trouble. You're going to be hard pressed to
find an average deck that just happens to play
enough LIGHT and DARK monsters for Chaos Sorcerer.
Rather, you're likely going to have to build a deck
entirely with him in mind. Not that that is a bad
idea, as many different Chaos decks are already
doing well for themselves this format.
Chaos Sorcerer is a really amazing card, and
something you should always be prepared to see when
there's a LIGHT and a DARK in your opponent's
Graveyard.
Traditional: 1/5 Works in Chaos decks, but those
don't FTK. Plus the Envoys do his job better.
Advanced: 5/5 He gets entire decks built around him
for a reason.
