Frozen Fitzgerald is a brand new card which used
to be a Dark Synchro on the anime. Now he's a
regular Synchro, and he's pretty awesome. As a level
5 WATER Fiend, with 2500 ATK and DEF, he's already
quite unique. The stats are great, the level is
good, but the typing is rather useless. When
attacking, your opponent can't activate Spells or
Traps, and if destroyed by battle while he's the
only monster you control, he can be revived by
discarding a card. Very cool stuff.
The problems come with actually getting him into
play. He can only be summoned using a DARK Tuner and
a Beast non-Tuner. That'll make Fitzgerald tough to
fit in many decks. While he can fit into several
decks somewhat awkwardly, where he'll shine is Junk
decks. Here he can be brought out using Junk
Synchron reviving Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter.
He's an excellent option when Ally of Justice
Catastor isn't needed.
Frozen Fitzgerald really isn't a card that has a ton
of combos. He's simply a powerful card on his own.
If your deck is playing a combination of Beasts and
DARK Tuners that could make a level 5 Synchro, give
him a try.
Frozen Fitzgerald, a Synchro monster from the
Dark Signers arc of the 5ds cartoon being released
via a collector's tin. Anyway, we have a Level 5
Synchro monster, with 2500 attack and defense
(awesome), and a Water monster, who is also a Fiend.
Synchro Summoned with a Dark Tuner and one or more
non-Tuner, Beast type monsters.
When Frozen Fitzgerald attacks, your opponent cannot
activate Magic or Trap cards until the end of the
Damage Step. Protection in about any form is nice,
and I'm a fan of this. If destroyed by Battle and
sent to the Graveyard, you can discard a card from
your Hand to Special Summon itself in Defense
position, so long as you control no other monsters.
This is where the 2500 defense becomes rather
excellent.
All in all, it really isn't a bad card. It's not
necessarily very game breaking but it can be deadly.
