Foolish return, an interesting little Quickplay
Magic card. All this does is return a Monster from
your opponent's Graveyard back to their Deck. This
can be huge when your opponent is purposely sending
or allowing things to go to their Graveyard to pull
of a Synchro from the Graveyard, or waiting to
remove a number of cards or Monsters to summon
something else. Chain this, and hopefully you have
thwarted whatever your opponent is going for. This
card has some potential I think, but only against
certain Decks...Blackwings, Lightsworn, Gladiator
Beasts, even Chaos in Traditional maybe.
Today's card is Foolish Return. I think this
card was printed a few formats late. Now, if this
card had been printed before cards like D.D.
Crow or Crevice Into the Different Dimension, it
might see play. This card just cannot really compete
with cards that are already out. I mean, why only
return 1 card from your opponent's grave to his deck
when you can remove two of them with CITDD. Not to
mention that the format as of now is so toolbox
formatted, Grave Keepers, XX-Sabers, Six Samurai, if
you return a card to your opponent's deck, he's just
going to pull it out again in a turn or two. This
just seems like another filler card in the set to
me, but hey, at least it's a quick play.

Foolish Return is a neat little Quick-Play Spell,
with strong similarities to D.D. Crow, The
Transmigration Prophecy, and Disappear. It returns a
card in your opponent's Graveyard to their Deck.
This can be a great card, but it can be a tough
choice when deciding between it and the other three
cards which do almost the same thing. If you want to
use Foolish Return without it being an inferior
version of one of those cards, you have to play to
its advantages. D.D. Crow does a better job as a
countering card, since it doesn't need to be put on
the field to do its thing, so Return should be used
over Crow only if you specifically do not want to
remove their card from play. The Transmigration
Prophecy packs a much more powerful effect, but is a
Trap, so Foolish Return should be used instead if
speed is of the essence, or if you're already
playing your one allowed copy of Prophecy. Disappear
is actually the one that Foolish Return is mostly
better than, being faster.
Overall, a solid card for countering many
strategies, but mostly outclassed by existing cards.
