Well we took some time off, and we're back,
continuing the Ice theme, with General Gantala of
the Ice Barrier. A general rule these days is that
you just don't play tribute Monsters, let alone two
tribute monsters, unless they have one hell of an
effect, like say Dark Magician of Chaos. Anyway,
this is a Level 7, Water monster, and a Warrior, odd
for Water...but he has 2700 attack (great) and 2000
defense (meh.) Moving along, what can General
Gantala do? Once per turn, he allows you to Special
Summon (during your End Phase, to be precise) an Ice
Barrier Monster in your Graveyard, present company
excluded, naturally. I like this, and remember, A
Legendary Ocean could make this a one tribute, 2900
attack Monster. Bringing a Synchro back to wreak
havoc would be fun, although remember Trishula only
gets her effect when Synchro Summoned, otherwise you
just have 2700 attack on the Field. I think it's a
solid card for Ice Barrier players though.

obviously of the Water Nation...
Today’s card is General Gantala of the Ice
Barrier. He is a 2700 atk, 2000 def, level 7, Water,
warrior. He allows you to special summon any ice
barrier monster from your grave during your end
phase, except for himself. When it comes to Ice
barrier, this card is amazing. A lot of ice barrier
cards are set up for a lock down, and slowly becomes
more aggressive through the duel. Gantala can be a
key part of it, being a strong attacker and special
summoning from the grave another general, or any ice
barrier needed for the situation.
Now one thing is that being a 7 star, he is most
likely to be pretty slow to hit the field, and you
have to give up 2 monsters that are the core of the
lock down to summon him normally. There are ways to
special summon him, but it may take a little work.
All in all, he’s only good late game, trying to
rebuild the lock you used to summon him.

Welcome back from vacation guys. Starting of this
short week we have General Gantala of the Ice
Barrier. Ice Barriers have some of the strongest
synchros in the game, yet lack the ability to swarm
in order to summon them. Gantala greatly assists
with this process. It allows you to special summon
any Ice Barrier monster, except him, during your end
phase (synchros included). Requiring two tributes in
order to summon is a heavy cost but, and I’m not
very familiar with the Ice Barrier archetype, I’m
sure there are ways to get Gantala on the field and
avoid the tribute. 2700 attack gets over most any
monster your opponent can summon.
