Megamorph, now completely Unrestricted, is a really
complicated card, for something that has such a not
so complicated effect. If you have fewer
Lifepoints than your opponent, the (original) attack
of a Monster equipped with Megamorph is doubled.
(Similarly, if your Lifepoints are higher, the
attack of said Monster is halved.) Anyway,
Megamorph is used as a One Turn/First Turn Kill card
about 99.9% of the time. At three, it's
actually almost scary. Three Megamorph on a
Stardust (or other powerful Monster) when your
opponent should be done has the ability to just
lucksack and destroy a Format. But for
whatever reason, outside of OTK/FTK, I don't see
people actually being smart or creative enough to
use it like that.

Megamorph
Yep, Megamorph has come off the list and is back at
3. But does anybody care? Not really. MST is back at
3, which means anything that isn't a normal or
quick-play spell (or chainable trap like Jar of
Greed, Threatening Roar or Compulsory Evacuation
Device) can be disarmed in an instant, including
equip spells like Megamorph.
There's an old trick to using this card. If you're
losing, give it to your monster to double its
points. If you're winning, equip it to an opponent's
monster (you can give equip cards to any monster on
the field) to halve its ATK. These days, it doesn't
quite matter, because all top decks will be able to
replace that one monster or destroy your one
monster. It's a relic of an age gone by.

Art: I always liked it.
Fun Fact: United We Stand was once Forbidden.
Tomorrow: It's at 3 and it shouldn't be.
The recently unlimited equip spell Megamorph is an
interesting card these days. Its power back in the
day was unmatched. Summoning Cyber Stein, paying 500
life to special summon Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon,
then equipping Megamorph for a 9000 attack monster
was awesome. These days, Megamorph has clearly lost
power. It didn’t really do anything at 2 so I
understand Konami’s decision to unlimit it and I
don’t think anything will chance now. There are some
cool combos that you could do with Demise or even
Judgment Dragon, but equip spells are very slow.
With Mystical Space Typhoon at 3, there just isn’t
any room for Megamorph unless you’re playing a deck
designed around it.

This card was recently confirmed to have been
Unlimited for the September '11 format. To be
quite honest, I don't know why this card was
Semi-Limited in the first place. The attack boost is
nice, but you have to be technically losing in order
to use this. Or you can slap it on your opponent's
monster when you have high Life Points to cut their
monster's attack. There are some neat tricks you can
use with this card that can help with some OTK
decks, but overall, there isn't a lot of room in
decks now for this card to see any serious play.

Megamorph
Megamorphhas been limited for quite some time.
Finally, after the Banlist generators have realized
that it has done nothing regardless of the changes
to the list, they semi-limited it for safe measures.
Now, next format, we shall see it at three. Will it
do anything? Whose to say. Hasn't been doing much,
lately.
Simply put, this Equip Spell Card's effect either
doubles or halves the ATK of the equipped monster
you placed it on, depending on your Life Points; if
it is higher than your opponent's Life Points it is
halved and vice versa.
This card saw most of it's play during Cyber Stein
OTK or Demise OTK format, respectively. Now-a-days,
it's simply outdated, and hardly any Equip Spell
Cards are being used, unless they generate a ton of
advantage (looking at you, Wonder Wand).

-Yup, it sucks....

Megamorph continues our review of cards from the
latest F/L list. It is perhaps one of the best
generic equip spell cards in the game. While your
life points are lower than your opponent’s your
equipped monster’s attack is doubled. The balance to
this is that while yours are higher the attack is
halved. What most people think when they hear
megamorph is Demise OTK, which is what got this card
on the list in the first place. At three this also
helps those who run morphtronics and Power Tool
Dragon. Equip spells aren’t that great anymore
though.
