Mystical Space Typhoon x3, Heavy Storm is legal,
Giant Trunade is Banned, and even three copies of
Breaker are legal if you want...remember when Magic
and Trap destruction was in short supply.
Hell, I'm not sure I do anymore, either. You
know what Mystical Space Typhoon does, you know how
good it is, but do you need to use three of them?
Honestly, I don't really see why you would use
three. It's just a Deck spot you're going to
give up and while the ability to use three is
welcome, it just doesn't see necessary. Use
one, maybe even use a second and see if it gets in
the way. Side an extra one, whatever.

Mystical Space Typhoon
We all know what this card does. It's one of the
simplest cards in the game. It's always been at 1
with Heavy Storm, until that balance was disrupted
and Storm was banned, putting MST at 2, which was
one of the weirdest things for veteran YuGiOh
players to experience, as MST has always been at 1
(past Ye Olde YuGiOh). Now Heavy Storm is back AND
Typhoon is at 3, leaving most players wondering,
"Did the ban list department forget they brought
Storm back?"
MST at 3--along with Heavy Storm--means this format
will only have normal spells and chainable traps.
Even Mirror Force and Dimensional Prison are now
sub-par cards, being replaced by Threatening Roar,
Compulsory Evacuation Device, Call of the Haunted
(with Sangan), and even Jar of Greed. The logic
behind "chainable traps" is that you can activate
them if the opponent tries to destroy them, meaning
their destruction is semi-wasted and you still get
your trap's effect.
Most people are going to run this at 3 with Storm,
while others will use 2 and side the third. What
will you do?

Art: Soooo familiar.
Remember, kids: "Destroy" doesn't mean "Negate".
Tomorrow: A misrepresentation of the graphical
depiction of gravity's effect on the universe.
Today’s card is one of the more interesting
movements on the ban list. Mystical Space Typhoon
was at 1 for a very long time for good reason. Last
format consisted of a lot of decks running a lot of
spells/traps. Since Trunade and 2 MST’s couldn’t
really handle all of the backrow, some people played
Dust Tornado. Because of the amount of backrow last
format, it seems Konami wanted the opposite this
format be bringing us Heavy Storm and a 3rd MST.
Mystical Space Typhoon is a very good card and is
already proving to be very annoying. It’s a simple 1
for 1 card that you can set if you want. Good card
is good.

It looks like Yu-Gi-Oh! is taking a step back into
the game's younger days. BLS-Envoy is back, as
everyone probably knows by now, Heavy Storm is also
back and Mystical Space Typhoon was brought back to
three. This, along with Heavy Storm, has cleared out
the backrow problem. What was once a bustling
populace of Spell and Trap Cards is now a barren
land where you will rarely find more than two cards.
It seems like Konami wanted to eliminate the "Herp-Summon
a good monster, Derp-Set 4-5 backrow" play that was
all too common in the current format. I think,
though, that unlimiting MST wasn't that great of an
idea. Instead of controlling the backrow, the new
ban list destroyed it. Still, MST is as good of a
one-for-one card as it used to be and will continue
to see a lot of play.

Endphase MST? Who hasn't heard that? Well, next
format, it shall be more prevalent than ever.
Back-row? Where? Heard that there was a Heavy Storm
coming through here. Better leave quickly, lest you
get hit by a Cyclone.
Last format was all about Traps and Monsters. Next
format shall be all about Spells and Monsters.
Who didn't see that coming?
What more is there to say?
Wanna know some cool moves to do with this card?!
Here you go:
Opponent activates a Field Spell Card while you have
one on the field already: CHAIN MST -You keep your
Field Spell!
Opponent Attacks with a Monster equipped with an
Equip Spell/Trap Card: CHAIN MST -Hopefully your
monster has more ATK points....
Opponent uses *someones* Royal Oppression: CHAIN MST
-Has to stay on the field for it's effect to resolve
properly.
Opponent activates Dragon Ravine's effect: CHAIN MST
-Has to remain on the field to resolve it's Effect.
Opponent has only one Set Spell/Trap Card and Ends
their turn (say it with me): ENDPHASE M-S-T!~
There are countless more! Which ones do you know?
