Heavy Storm...what do we say here?  Your Magic and Trap cards are vulnerable as ever with Heavy Storm legal, and the quizzical unrestriction of Mystical Space Typhoon.  Heavy Storm is unwieldy powerful, and you use it.  SImple as that folks.

Heavy Storm goes into every deck ever, unless that deck is Crystal Beasts. Anything else and Storm + 3 MST will overwhelm it. Heavy Storm is one of the highlights of the new list, but at the same time, Mystical Space Typhoon is unlimited, which is a huge issue because it means no non-chainable traps can be used safely by any definition.

Here's a fun trick you can't quite do any more: Pro Storm. Never set more cards than your opponent, because it means they could gain advantage by destroying more of your cards. Your opponent sets one trap, you can safely play up to two. But if you set Heavy Storm, you could trick the opponent into setting 2 traps for you to destroy, netting an instant +1. But with MST at 3, that Heavy Storm will almost always get hit instantly.

Fun Fact: "Bring back Storm" guy and "MST to 3" guy didn't communicate very well this year.

Today's card is probably the most discussed card on the ban list. Heavy Storm has been gone for a little while, but (maybe due to popular demand) returned to take the place of Giant Trunade. Some people think this card is overpowered, but I think it provides balance to the game. Unfortunately they also put Mystical Space Typhoon at 3, but who didn't expect something interesting from Konami? Anyway, Heavy Storm is a potential +4, but I doubt anyone will be setting 5 backrow this format without some sort of protection. I see this card being a 1 for 1 most of the time, but it's still a very, very good card. If you aren't running a lot of backrow, you're running this card. Even if you are running a lot, you still should consider it. The possible advantage this card can generate is too much to ignore.

Ah, Heavy Storm. I've been preaching this card's return for a while now, and boy am I glad to see it. Honestly, this card is not near as good as Trunade, considering how many ways there are to prevent destruction. Who knows, maybe people will start to actually use Starlight Road now that Storm's back. All in all, Storm is a great card, but it's not quite OP enough to warrant being banned. Though it may get hit again come March, who knows?
