Well, the runner up is Reborn Tengu, and while
tomorrow's card is rightly the top card of the year,
you could make an argument to switch the two.
Reborn Tengu had, has, take your pick, one of the
easiest to abuse, and most useful abilities ever.
You lose one from the Field, and as long as there's
one in your Deck, you get a replacement on the
Field. It didn't hurt that Tengu has 1700 attack,
or all the support attributed to being a
Beast-Warrior (irrelevant as that second part may
be) Level 4, and while not a Tuner, still makes
things like Synchro and XYZ that much easier.

At number 2, we have one of the best monsters in
the game when played in threes. Reborn Tengu fits in
just about any deck ever made, because it is just so
darn hard to get rid of and gives you constant field
presence. Every time someone plays against a deck
with this card in it, I hear how broken this card is
and how it needs to be limited. Sorry to disappoint
you but Konami does not make a habit of limiting
cards that work in almost any deck. They limit cards
to level the playing field.
There is virtually nothing that you cannot do with
this card when run in threes. Synchro, Xyz, Tribute,
or use with cards like Horn of the Phantom Beast or
Dark Simorgh. The only way you will not get Tengu’s
effect is if it is removed from the field while face
down, sent back to the deck, has its effect negated,
or do not have a Tengu in your deck.
The best thing about Reborn Tengu is that it is a
promo card and was also printed as a Super Rare so
it is not so expensive that everyone can not have
three of them to play in their deck. Probably the
best deck to play this card is Plant/Synchro decks
and along with the plant engine made it a top tier
deck that has been dominating the tournament scene.
Coming in at #2 on the
countdown is Reborn Tengu. Blah, blah stats
whatever; this card’s effect is what vaulted it to
the number 2 spot on the list. Whenever this card
leaves the field it special summons another copy
from the deck. Banish, get a Tengu. Tribute, get a
Tengu. Synchro, GET A MOTHERLOVING TENGU. No matter
what happens you get a new one, unless it happens to
be face down when it is removed from the field. This
card uses up your opponents resources and creates
field presence. Destiny HERO Malicious wishes he
could be this good.

Hello to all, and welcome and
we’re hitting the best of the best. Today we are
reviewing number 2 on the list.
Reborn Tengu
Beast-Warrior/ Wind/ Lv 4/ 1700
ATK/ 600 DEF
When this card leaves the
field: Special Summon 1 "Reborn Tengu" from your
Deck.
This card has seen play in
different types of decks. Wind, T.G. Stun, Dark
Simorgh, and the dastardly Synchrosentric (plant
synchro) deck. This card falls nothing short of
being a great, versatile card. If it is removed from
the field, for the most part, it will search out for
another copy. This is the best friend of any duelist
who loves to synchro summon a lot. Deep Sea Diva,
Plaguespreader Zombie, Glow-up bulb, Spore, and
Genex Ally Birdmans’s best friend. They will leave
you with a Sycnchro monster on the field and another
copy of Reborn Tengu.
Not to mention, this card
single handedly makes the plant synchro engine as
good as it is. Due to its typing it is a great
target to use in beast/beat warrior decks that abuse
Horn of the Phantom Beast. This card has plenty of
other uses such as tribute fodder, chump blocker, or
fodder for creature swap or enemy controller.
Cons: Terrible if drawn into
while you have another and effect doesn’t activate
when sent to deck.

Reborn Tengu
I will be upfront with this now, I hate this card
with a passion, and it really put a damper on how
much fun you can have in the game in a competitive
aspect. The card is so powerful it isn’t even funny.
It gives you an attack absorber, tribute fodder, and
materials to exceed with, not to mention it has good
stats that can let it hold it’s own. I really hope
this card gets touched on the new banned list, it is
a serious problem in the game right now, but why
exactly? The game is all about being able to make
huge swings and plays each turn, and this guy is a
main reason why we are able to do so

Just falling short of the number 1 spot is a card
you might have heard of, Reborn Tengu. Tengu is one
of the most hyped, played, participation cards since
Grandmaster of the Six Samurai. Tengu is a level 4,
Wind/Beast Warrior type with 1700 ATK and 600 DEF.
And Tengu's effect is simple, easy to use, and
easier to make the most of. When Tengu leaves the
field, special summon 1 Reborn Tengu from your deck.
So many ways, so little time. Summoner Monk and
Genex Ally Birdman are 2 of the more popular ways to
get the most out of Tengu. Glow-Up Bulb and
Plaguespreader Zombie will get you multiple summons
in a turn. Tengu is a good card, but good luck
getting the best out of it, if you manage to run
into a few of its weaknesses, like bottomless trap
hole, and opening up with 3 Tengus in your opening
hand. But the pros are far better than the cons. We
at pojo welcome Reborn Tengu at the number 2 spot of
the best cards of 2011.

"When this card leaves the field: Special Summon 1
"Reborn Tengu" from your Deck."
Sorry to have missed the last few card reviews
folks, but it's been hectic for me of late. :P
Anyways, We have one of the few decent
Wind-attribute cards for today, and it's easy to see
why it's the second best card of 2011. Any card that
helps to thin the deck is good, and this guy isn't
too finiky as to how his effect goes off. Most cards
with similar effects require them to leave the field
under a certain condition, but RT can be tributed,
killed, destroyed by a card effect, bounced back to
the hand or even removed from play and still get his
effect.
With a severe lack of strong Wind monsters, this
guy makes for a good addition to the team that lacks
major support. He works well in many decks,
especially ones that go up against heavy amounts of
monster destruction, or require a steady stream of
tribute fodder.
His ATK stat is decent, although he could've used
a higher defense. All in all, a good addition to
almost any deck.
