Photon Sabre Tiger closes the week. This is a Level
3, Light attributed, Beast type Monster, with 2000
attack and 300 defense. Now when a non Vanilla
Monster with 2000 attack comes along that is below
Level 5, there is usually an adverse effect involved
here. That is the case, as if you don't control
another Photon Sabre Tiger, the attack drops to
1200. Which is at least more appropriate for a
Level 3. But, for a plus, when Normal or Flipped
Summoned, you can add another Tiger from your Deck
to your Hand. Obviously it would be TOO easy if it
brought itself to the Field.

Photon Sabre Tiger may not look like much with
its level 3, 1200 attack when it’s on the field with
not other Tigers, but do not under estimate the true
power of this card. It’s not a Tiger for nothing.
Remember that card we reviewed a couple of weeks
ago, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon? Set Super-Nimble
Mega Hamster, hope your opponent attacks it, and
then special summon/set a Sabre Tiger. On your turn,
flip summon your Tiger, search for another one, and
then summon it. Now you have 2 level 3 monsters to
Xyz with, or 2 2000 attack monsters, or tributes for
your Galaxy-Eyes.
There are plenty of ways to get two copies of
Photon Sabre Tiger to the field. You can use Photon
Lead to special summon the other copy you got from
your deck. You could also use Ultimate Offerings to
summon your second copy.
Photon Sabre Tiger is a light monster and a
floater (replaces itself and thins the deck) so it
has great synergy with Chaos decks and Synchro
decks. Honest is its friend Sabre Tiger is a level 3
so Gravity Bind works well with it. It is a Beast so
Horn of the Phantom Beast is a good card to combo.
It is a good option in a T.G. deck as T.G.’s love to
special summon and use Skill Drain. You can special
summon Striker and normal summon Sabre Tiger to
summon a level 5 synchro. Or, if a level 4 or lower
monster is special summoned, special summon Warewolf,
normal summon our Sabre Tiger floater and Xyz into a
rank 3 monster.
As you can see, with all of the special summoning
that we have now days, a floater like Photon Sabre
Tiger can be of great use. Like Gadgets, it’s not a
greatest card for the current Meta, but unlike
Gadgets it has an attribute and type that is very
useful in the current Meta.

The last day of the week, and we're looking at a
real good one, Photon Saber Tiger. Tiger is a level
3, Light/Beast with 2000 ATK and 300 DEF. Tiger's
effect says, When this card is normal or flipped
summoned, you can add 1 Photon Saber Tiger from your
deck to your hand. If you do not control another
Sabre Tiger, this card loses 800 ATK. A few cards
comes to mind right away, including Key Mouse and
Double Summon. Photon Lead will get you two on the
field as well. What you decide to do with a pair of
2000 ATK monsters are up to you. Keep them out there
to pound your opponent, or use them to special
summon Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon. This card does
have a few weaknesses, like keeping two or more on
the field long enough, but it's pros outweigh them.
A great card for a great theme.

Friday Fact: Fridays are awesome!
Angelic Nightmare
Hey guys, Angelic Nightmare back here and
FINISHED with finals! So no more breaks from
reviewing!
Today we have a pretty interesting card out of the
new Photon Shockwave set, Photon Sabre Tiger. It is
a nice little piece to the photon arch-type. When
you summon normal summon or flip summon it becomes a
gadget for the turn.
Light/Beast/Lv 3/2000 ATK/300 DEF
“When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: You can
add 1 "Photon Sabre Tiger" from your Deck to your
hand. If you do not control another "Photon Sabre
Tiger", this card loses 800 ATK”.
The best thing you can do with this card is use
cards that allow you summon again like “Double
Summon” or “Ultimate Offering”. This allows
you to search out all your copies of Photon Tiger
all in one turn. You will have at least two 2000
attackers or a beefed up Leviathan Dragon or
Zenmaines.
Because of its Light attribute, you can use “Photon
Lead” to special summon the copy you just added to
your hand. Also, because it’s a light you have
access to “Honest”.
Due to its beast type, it can be the prime target
for “Super-Nimble Mega Hamster” and gets your combo
going during your next turn. Also, it can be used
with “Horn of the Phantom Beast”.
This card isn’t too popular in the current meta, but
it does have potential.
Pros: Good type, good attribute, chaos food,
self-replacing, and deck thins.
Cons: weak when it’s a lone tiger and low def.

This guy just begs to be in a Rescue Cat deck in
traditional and can be some serious muscle very
quickly. There's a few ways to get him out in
Advanced, but this guy would work best in
Traditional. Also, I believe that this is the
strongest Level 3 monster to date.
