#7--#39--Utopia
 
Okay, as I'm sure everyone is very familiar with all these cards we are reviewing, but this is one to open with, what do you want to know about Utopia that you don't know all ready?  This was one of the most anticipated XYZ Monsters to be released, and one of, if not, the first, if I recall correctly.  Let's see, Rank 4, 2500 attack, 2000 defense, Warrior and Light Monster, Black Luster Soldier makes loves to Utopia, as do many other Monsters, Cards, support, etc.  It can negate any Monster's attack by discarding an XYZ Material, which only increases the playability.  Honestly, Utopia IS a hell of a card, even for an XYZ.  The big downside I think is that as good as he is, he isn't the most competitive card out there, but that's just me.

We got one of the best Xyz monsters from the Xyz structure deck. Number 39: Utopia led off the Xyz revolution by being one of the strongest in the game with 2500 attack and the ability to negate attacks. Not bad for the cost of two level 4 monsters. Mind Control and Tragedia come in handy when you want to use your opponent’s monster to help summon Utopia. Reborn Tengu and it’s knack for keeping a level 4 monster on the field works great as well.
 
Number 39: Utopia has become a staple in most extra decks and remains one of the best Rank 4 monsters that do not require specific monsters in the game.

Lucky # 7 on our countdown already has his own number already, Yuma's ace card in the Zexal series, Number 39: Utopia.Utopia led the Xyz charge and has become a staple in almost every deck. A Rank 4 monster, Utopia needs 2 level 4 monsters to overlay and is a Light/Warrior with 2500 ATK and 2000 DEF. Its effect is, Whenver a player's monster declares an attack, you can detach one Xyz material from this card to negate that attack. Also, when this card is targeted for an attack while it has no Xyz materials, destroy this card. Meeting Utopia's reqirements is easier than it seems, with cards that replaces themselves, like Shining Angel, Giant Rat, Masked Dragon and others of their ilk. Gadgets and Ultimate Offering is another way to get out more than one Number 39. Utopia is the founding father of Xyz monsters, a good one with great stats and a balanced effect, and deserving of a spot on our top 10 cards of 2011.

Number 7 on our countdown is actually Number 39, Utopia (yes, groan at the pun).

Utopia is by far the strongest and best generic Rank 4 Xyz monster we’ve had all year. It’s affordable because it comes in the 2011 Starter deck and it can be placed in just about any deck. You don’t need anything special to summon it (no fusion material or tuners), so Utopia is currently an Extra Deck staple.

If you have at least two Lv 4 monsters, then you should have Utopia lying around. After all, 2500 ATK that can negate two attacks? Very nice indeed.

Hello everyone! Today we are reviewing number 7 of the Top 10 cards of 2011.

Number 39: Utopia

Warrior/ Light/ Rank 4/ 2500 ATK/ 2000 DEF

2 Level 4 monsters

When any player's monster declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the attack. When this card is targeted for an attack, while it has no Xyz Materials: Destroy this card.

Yugi has Dark Magician, Jaden has Elemental Hero Alius, Yusei has Stardust Dragon, and now Yuma has Number 39: Utopia. Each main character of each anime seems to have the following trend of having a 2500 ATK beat stick.

This card was released in the Zexal starter deck and it is well worth picking up for this card, Gachi Gachi Gantetsu and the common Mirror Force. Moving along, this card has seen its way into many extra decks due to its effect of negating an attack. This effect is potentially allowing you to draw the next piece for victory during your next draw step. Because it is also a light, it is a viable target for Honest and can allow you to potentially run Chaos Sorcerer or Black Luster Soldier- Envoy of the Beginning.

The one downside to this card is the unofficial ruling of this card destroying itself by its own effect. This allows for a replay to occur and your opponent to attack again with that same monster.

Pros: Easy summoning conditions, Honest-able, Great Effect, and Chaos food.

Cons: The self-destruction effect causing a replay, as of now that is.

An interesting card, and not too hard to get out. He has an interesting effect, but with ATK power that high, he won't really need to use his effect very often. This guy can make for a low-level beatstick with his impressive stats. My only complaints about this guy are the fact that his effect seems unnecessary for someone so strong. Also, like all Xyz monsters, there's no way to replentish his Materials, so once he runs out, he's done.

A nice card to start of a new monster type, but his effect truly seems kind of unneeded.
