Gravekeeper's Recruiter is #2...did I mention sometime last week how I'm not a fan of when specific theme cards make these lists, regardless of how good they may be?  Our Recruiter is Level 3, Dark attribute, Spellcaster, who allows you to add a Gravekeeper with 1500 or lesls Defense from your Deck to your Hand.

1200 attack isn't awful for Level 3, and the 1500 defense means he can even search himself, now remember, you only gain the effect if he goes to the Graveyard.  As a bonus, if you were to tribute the Recruiter for the effect of Gravekeeper's Descendant, the effect will still resolve, second, as a separate chain.

He's great support for the Gravekeeper Deck, and has even found his way splashed into other Decks as Tech for people just using the random or occasional Gravekeeper.

Ratings:

5/5 for Gravekeepers, and even a 2.5 or so out of for the Deck above who uses it.

Art:  3/5  Not that impressive.

Knight
The Legion

Coming in second place of our top ten countdown is our new searcher crackmonger, Gravekeeper’s Recruiter. This card is great. It’s the Gravekeeper version of Darksoul. The real reason this card is so high on the list is simple: the fact that it single handedly turned a fairly unused stall/burn style deck into the top meta deck, kicking the Saber Regime down from their throne that fateful day in Atlanta. This card is just what GK’s need to become an agro death deck from hell. Add the fact that Necrovalley effs up most deck types, and that we have no Heavy Storm, and we’re in for one hell of a format until the True Six come out and Sams take over. Either way, this was without a doubt a game changing card, which is why it is ranked so highly.

Assailant
The Legion

So, today at number 2 on our top 10 countdown, we have Gravekeeper's Recruiter. Who didn't see this one coming? Imagine Darksoul on crack. Actually it'd probably be speed, but anyway. The only surprise here is that this card IS at number two instead of number one, but you win some, you lose most.

Now, I'm a Gravekeeper fan, always have been, thus the name Assailant, and I've been waiting for that one thing that would finally make Gravekeeper's a tier 1 deck. This is it. Gravekeeper's Recruiter single handily allowed Gravekeeper's to win first, second, AND third place at YCS Atlanta. That says a lot about this card, and especially it's consistency. This card is broken, simple as that. It allows you to pull a Gravekeeper with 1500 or less defense to your hand anytime it hits the grave, and it's a mandatory effect as well, so it doesn't miss any timings.

Personally, I think the limitation of 1500 DEF to 1500 ATK only adds to this card's epicness. While 1500 ATK would allow you to pull Spy, 1500 DEF allows you to pull Commandant to your hand, solving an annoying consistency problem for Gravekeeper's.

As far as I can see there's very little to call a downside to this card. Plus it's a TCG exclusive, so we don't have to worry about the greedy little OCG finding a reason to ban it for a while now. Happy times.

“Are you done pointing out that I'm bald?”
“Ehhh, no.”-Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged

Puppet Master
The Legion

Today we are reviewing XX-Saber Darksoul. No wait, it’s a much better XX-Saber Darksoul with stats. This card needs to go down in the history of Yu-Gi-Oh as one of the most game changing cards of all time. This card comes out and immediately the Gravekeeper deck takes the top 3 spots at YCS Atlanta. That’s crazy, but let’s look at why. A Gravekeeper deck will usually have a Necrovalley on the field. With that card, Gravekeeper's Recruiter becomes a 1700/2000 which is nothing to laugh at. On top of this, if this card is sent from the field to the grave (not destroyed) you can pretty much search your deck for any Gravekeeper that you want (aside from Spy). This card is broken, he really gives Gravekeepers that edge that they needed to make them more than just a stall burn style of deck.

Our 2nd place card is Gravekeeper recruiter. He single handedly propelled gravekeepers to the top tier. What does he do? He's witch of the black forest for gravekeepers. Whenever he is sent from the field to the grave by anything, you search for a gravekeeper with 1500 or less defense. the most common combination with this is, flip spy, get descendant. Normal summon this, tribute it to destroy something, search for commandant, get necrovalley, play necro valley and attack.

Quite a good combo,. and definatly worth the 2nd place spot

Traditional 1/5 I dont think Gravekeepers are viable in this format
Advanced 5/5 Great card for gravekeepers.

Gravekeeper's Recruiter, of all things, lands the #2 spot. Gravekeepers is a top deck--the deck to beat of today's format. And it's all thanks to this guy.

At first glance, what's so special about this guy? Sure, he looks really good, but THIS good? Think about it.

He gives Gravekeepers a solid Set that isn't Gravekeeper's Spy. He turns into more-than-free destruction with Gravekeeper's Descendant by his side. He searches out Commandant, which in turn searches out Necrovalley. That means this guy assures that you have Necrovalley at all times.

Gravekeepers are among the most searchable, revivable, salvageable monsters in the game. When one of those cards is essentially Witch of the Black Forest, you know it's going to be good. I've been using 3x Recruiter personally, and I think it's a card you'd have to try yourself to understand.

And it's this one card that catapulted Gravekeepers from "Shaky but pretty good" to "The solid, ultraconsistent deck-to-beat".
