D2 Shield is an interesting enough Trap but you will very likely never see it, even in a Stall or some variant, really the only real place I might consider using it.  In short, you can double the Defense of a face-up Defense position monster.  I assume this is permanent, as it doesn't say anything of "for the turn".  It can combo with some things, but  I'm not seeing this happen any time soon.

D2 Shield. I love this card. Everyone hates this card. BAM, instantly double your defender's points. Speaking of (Destiny Hero) Defender, this makes him 5400. The opponent will feel that one in the morning.

But the most important thing here is Stone Statue of the Aztecs. When attacked by the standard 1800 beater, D2 Shield gives your Statue 2000 extra DEF, totalling a massive backlash of 4400. Be aware that this will not work with Canyon, as Statue already has the 2x damage clause. Nonetheless, two D2 Sheilds means you win the game with this guy, and that's pretty good.

4/5 for Statue decks
Art: I don't know. I guess it's fun. Needs moar Statue.
Fun Fact: It's a very frustrating deck to play against.
Tomorrow: Another entry in the D.D. Warrior Lady saga thingy. Fun!

Here we have another one of Konami’s “want this to see play, so we will make it super rare” cards. It says that you may select one face-up defense position monster and double its defense. Here is a variety of reasons of why it won’t see play. First, there are so many better cards than this. Second, it only works on a face-up monster, so when your opponent’s monster flips, you can’t use this. Next, this card isn’t all that game changing, so if you wanted to actually use it, than you would have to make some sort of canyon, rock, defense deck. So there you have it. This is David the nameless signing out.

D2 Sheild is another normal trap. It doubles the defense of a faceup defense monster you control. I suppose this is good for surprising your opponent with. They attack your facedown monster, it flips up and you activate this, your monster lives and they take damage. If you use this with something like Destiny Hero Defender, this could cause a lot of damage.

Still, outside of these mediocre combos, I dont see much use of this, and Im still not entirely sure if you CAN even activate this after your opponent attacks your facedown monster, so dont hold me to that.

Both Formats 2/5
Art- Twin Sheild Defender....erm defending i guess. It's kinda bland.

D2 Shield is our card today, and it's pretty cool. Double the defense of any face-up defense monster of yours, and the effect is permanent. Defense boosting, unfortunately, doesn't usually win games. D2 Shield has some neat tricks up its sleeve, such as using it on cards like Dupe Frog or Golem Dragon, forcing all attacks into a 4000 DEF wall. It also is capable of redirecting Smashing Ground in some situational scenarios, if you need it to. Unfortunately, monsters won't usually be sticking around more than a few turns anyway, so the boost won't often matter. You're probably better off using something like Dimensional Prison.

Traditional: 1/5 Totally pointless here. Stall, and defense in general, is nonexistent here.
Advanced: 2/5 If you run anything remotely stall oriented, this could be a decent pick for you.
Art: 1/5 It's just Twin-Shield Defender. Why couldn't it be Destiny Hero - Defender or Giant Soldier of Stone? That would have ruled.
