Robbin' Goblin is one of the more overlooked Traps
out there in the game. Each time a monster you
control inflicts Damage to your opponent, your
opponent randomly discards one card from their Hand
to the Graveyard. This is one of those tricky cards
that doesn't really generate you any advantage, but
can obviously be harmful to the opponent. However,
it can really be good for your opponent too, against
things like Lightsworn, Dark World, and anything
else that wants monsters to be dumped into the
Graveyard. It's a little gem in things like Hand
Control though. I wouldn't consider this to be a
bad card, but it could be a solid addition to your
Side-Deck.

Robbin’ Goblin, one of
the oldest cards to get a second review, beckons
towards the lost art of hand control. In a game
where life points do not matter and card advantage
wins games, this trap works hard for its slot in the
deck. This card has had multiple errata due to
originally saying any damage a monster did caused
your opponent to drop a card, i.e. burn. This card
could be useful if not for the fact that if you have
the monsters on the field to continuously trigger
its effect then you are probably winning anyway.

Robbin’ Goblin! Yes! I have wanted to use this card
in a deck since Tele-Dad. This continuous trap card
is very interesting. Discarding cards from your
opponent’s hand is always a good thing (except
against Fabled and Dark World). Generally you would
activate this card on your attack declaration,
almost guaranteeing you 1 discard. You basically
even out fairly quickly, then any other discards are
pure advantage. It seems like a good card, but since
this card really does nothing to your initial plays,
it might be difficult to damage your opponent to get
that discard. It is a continuous trap, so there
could be some cool plays with Magic Planter or
Imperial Customs, but nothing particularly good.
I’ve always wanted to run this card, but with the
speed of decks these days, it’s simply illogical. I
promise you’ll see this card in one of my decks
eventually!

Robbin' Goblin
An odd reprint in this Gold Series. This wasn't
seeing much play at all, and it wasn't any kind of
exclusive, so I'm not sure why Konami decided to
reprint this one. But anyway, Robbin' Goblin is a
Continuous Trap that turns all your monsters into
Spirit Reapers. Not a bad card, but not a great
card. Being a Continuous hurts it a bit, and most
decks may not have room for this strange piece of
tech, especially with how well most decks now
utilize the Graveyard.

Next up is a continuous trap from the days of
yore, since we last reviewed it back in '02. Robbin'
Goblin basically makes your opponent have to discard
a card if you inflict battle damage to them. As cool
as this effect is, with the looming threat of dark
worlds and fable's and the fact that it will
probably take a while to really disrupt your
opponent puts it low on the food chain. Though not
totally useless, its lost quite a few steps 9 years
later.
