Moving from XYZ to Synchro, we look at Orient Dragon.  Orient Dragon, one of the stranger looking Dragons out there, is a Level 6, Wind attributed, Dragon type Syncho.  This card is Synchro Summoned with a Tuner, and one or more non-Tuner Monsters.  Orient Dragon has 2300 attack (meh) and 1800 defense (equally meh.)  So for a rather unimpressive attack and defense, we're looking for a great effect here. When Synchro Summoned, Orient Dragon lets you remove an opponent's (face-up) Synchro Monster from the game.  So here's the deal...this effect actually isn't bad.  But the 2300 attack is all but a deal breaker I think.  Unless you're winning the game the turn you use this card, I'm not thinking it's so worthwhile.  Odds are, if you're doing this just to remove something on the Field, there's likely other problems, and more to the point, why not play something better?

Watch out, Brionac--look's like they're gonna replace you.

Orient Dragon banishes (the new official term for "remove from play") an opposing Synchro on arrival, something that tops even Brionac's abilities. However, this is only a one-time effect, so it's really a watered-down version of the game's best Synchro. This is the poor man's Brionac, although this may hint toward a possible ban in the future.

3.5/5
Art: What is this, I don't even...
Fun Fact: Apparently, we're still getting a few Synchros.
Tomorrow: A black card.

Orient Dragon

The first TCG exclusive of Generation Force to be reviewed, Orient Dragon doesn’t disappoint. A generic level 6 synchro, this dragon has a solid 2300 attack and 1800 defense. His attribute isn’t the best right now, but he is a Dragon. This card certainly should take the place of Iron Chain Dragon in decks utilizing Debris Dragon. Orient Dragon’s effect is just perfect. When he’s summoned, you can banish a synchro your opponent controls. Now, are there any synchros lately that are annoying to get rid of? Oh I can think of a couple, but namely Legendary Six Samurai – Shi En. Not only will this card handle Shi En with ease, but even if they have something like Magatama, Orient Dragon slides right by it. The only thing I see stopping this Dragon is a Solemn Judgment or Warning. If your opponent happens to get lucky enough to open a Shooting Star Dragon, this card will take care of that too. In a synchro heavy meta, Orient Dragon is a great addition to Generation Force.

Orient Dragon

One of the last new Synchro Monsters we will probably ever see, Orient Dragon closes off the Synchro support with a bang. As soon as you summon him, he banishes an opponent's Synchro monster. Simple as that. Stardust, Shi En, Librarian all get knocked aside by Orient Dragon, and his being a Level 6 generic Synchro means that people may not have to fall back to Gaia Knight as the alternative to Brionac. And since the Ignition Ruling change has no confirmed date, it would be very easy to use Orient Dragon to bait out a Bottomless Trap Hole and still banish a card, which is safer than risking your Brionac and more productive than dropping Gaia Knight. Very good card design on this one, and another chase card of Generation Force, rightfully so.

Orient Dragon, one of the few synchro cards still to be released, has one of the more sought out situational effect. This six star Dragon synchro banishes an opponent’s synchro monster when summoned. You can say goodbye to those pesky first turn Shi Ens or whatever synchro monster your opponent controls. What helps this card out is the lack of anything with utility in the six star slot. Also, being a Dragon, Debris dragon can make him all on its own. Orient Dragon’s 2300 attack is a bit low for his level, but I doubt that will keep a lot of duelists from playing him in their Extra Deck.
