Closing Wind-Up week, is Wind-Up Rabbit, who for
some reason to me looks as though is a creature who
escaped the Mega Man universe. This is a Level
3, Earth attributed, Beast-Warrior type Monster,
with 1400 attack and 600 defense. What does
Robo Rabbit do? Once, during either player's
turn, you can remove a Wind-Up Monster you control,
until your next Stand-by Phase. An interesting
ability, but not the most useful, in my humble
opinion. Saving a Monster can be really good,
if only for a turn. Maybe you need it for a
combo, or whatever else next turn. But it
seems pretty desperate I think.

The last Wind-Up monster that we are going to
review this week is a key card and catalyst for the
Wind-Up theme. Wind-Up Rabbit has a quick effect
that can be activated on ether players turn, so it
can escape the grasp of cards like Dark Hole,
Torrential Tribute, Chaos Sorcerer, Mirror Force,
and Scrap Dragon to name just a few. It was
rightfully named Rabbit, because it just bounces
around and it is hard to trap.
This card is important to the Wind-Up theme, because
each time it activates its effect to remove itself
from play; it triggers other Wind-Ups like Magician
and Factory. It also has the nice benefit of special
summoning itself to the field each turn, so you can
use your normal summon to summon another Wind-Up,
get its effect, and then banish it with the Rabbit
so you can use its effect again. You can also
protect Wind-Up Rabbit with Overwind which doubles
its attack and defense. Then simply remove it from
play to keep it from bouncing back to your hand
during the End Phase.
We are still waiting on several key cards to come
out, but Wind-Ups can be a very powerful deck type
as new Xyz monsters are released. There are several
cards that can be added to the theme that work well.
Sense several of the monsters are Level 3 or lower
Beasts, like our card of the day; we can use
Super-Nimble Mega Hamster. Sense most of the
Wind-Ups are Earth type monsters we can include
Glow-Up Bulb and make the Naturia Synchro monsters.
Wind-Ups have their own tool box of effects and
several ways to search for what they need. That,
their abilities, and ease of making Xyz monsters
makes it a force to be recond with in the future. My
ratings will reflect that. As a parting thought on
Wind-Up Rabbit, you could use it in decks other than
Wind-Ups. It gives you a level 3 special summon so
you can synchro with it next turn. You could use it
in Monarch decks. You could use it with Pineapple
Blast to destroy all of your opponent’s monsters.
Use your imagination and let’s get those monsters
wound up.

This fuzzay little guy is the key to the success
of any WU deck. Just bounce another WU for the turn
to regain the use of that WU's effect. Again he's a
one-hit wonder, but Rabbit's job is to give other
WUs a second chance anyways, so having multiple uses
of this guy would be incredibly unbalanced. His
stats could be better, but still, you can always
make him material for your XYZs and synchros.

Last day here on Wind -Up week and we're closing
with a good one. Wind-Up Rabbit! He's a level 3 1400
ATK and and 600 DEF, ok stats for a level 3. An
Earth/Beast -Warrior helps as well. His effect helps
out Wind-Ups greatly, while rabbit is face up, once
you can banish a face up Wind-Up monster you
control, and it returns during your next standby
phase. Giant Rat, Sangan and Wind-Up Magician are a
few ways to get it to your hand or field faster.
Rabbit combos so well with Wind-Up Factory, you are
getting a lot out of it. Overall this card can do a
lot in the Wind-Ups, you play Wind-Ups, try your
best to get a copy or two of this card.
