Another variation of Trap Hope. Deep Dark Trap
Hole allows you to remove a Specially Summoned,
Level 5 ot higher, Effect Monster from play when
said Monster is Special Summoned. Play Bottomless
Trap Hole, exactly as you have been, and carry on.
This card is hardly bad, but there's no reason to
use this over BTH...

Deep Dark Trap Hole is a pretty decent rare from
Photon Shockwave. It is very similar to Bottomless
Trap Hole in that it removes your opponent’s level 5
or higher effect monster when it is summoned.
Bottomless is obviously a better card as it removes
any monster with 1500 or more attack so it can work
on far more monsters. Unlike Bottomless however, it
can work better against monsters like Stardust
Dragon because Deep Dark Trap Hole does not destroy.
Both of these cards will not stop monster’s from
activating their effects when they are summoned as
they do not negate the summon of a monster.
Bottomless can also work on any summon while Deep
Dark Trap Hole works only on special summons.
There are other cards that you might want to choose
over Deep Dark Trap Hole like Black Horn of Heaven
which is a counter trap that negates the special
summon of 1 of your opponent’s monsters. All of
these cards work slightly different and Deep Dark
Trap Hole definitely gives us a viable option. If
you are running a stun or banishing deck, this card
may be a good fit for your deck. With all of the
Chaos running about in this format, banishing is
always good. Unfortunately, if your opponent depends
on Xyz summoning, you are out of luck with this
card.
Now let’s take a look at the current Meta. Most
decks aren’t even running 1 Bottomless Trap Hole, so
what is the likelihood that there is room for Deep
Dark Trap Hole? Slim to none. That does not make
Deep Dark Trap Hole a bad card, just not one that
will likely see play currently.

The last day of Gen. Akbar's TRAP week here on
pojo has us reviewing a possible new staple, Deep
Dark Trap Hole. DDTH's effect is When a Level 5 or
higher effect monster(s) is special summoned, banish
that monster(s). Very simple and can get around so
many monsters. Stardust, Red Archfiend, and even
that pesky T.G. Hyper Librarian falls into DDTH,
never to be seen again. This card can solve a lot of
problems, anything outside of Jinzo, Xyz, or high
level normal monsters that is. Other than that, this
card is worth trying to find a spot in your deck.

Fun Friday Fact: A raindrop falls at about 7 miles
an hour.
When a Level 5 or above Effect Monster is Special
Summoned, banish that monster. A simple, but
devastating card, especially against Synchros. There
are loads of situations where this card would be
useful, e.g. banishing a Scrap player's Scrap Dragon
and it doesn't get to replace itself is nice.
The only hurdle this card fails at is priority.
The Summoned monster can still use its effects on
priority when you would use this card, so they can
still nuke the field with Black Rose Dragon and
banish your cards with Trishula. Although, any
monster that doesn't have an effect they can use on
priority like Stardust Dragon, Catastor or Grapha
can still be countered by this card.
One question though: Why would we use this
instead of Bottomless Trap Hole? Sure it can get
Stardust, but that is its only benefit over BTH.
Use BTH instead.

Today we have another trap from Photon Shockwave.
Deep Dark Trap Hole
When a Level 5 or higher Effect Monster(s) is
Special Summoned: Banish that Level 5 or higher
Effect Monster(s).
At first glance I thought this card wasn’t half bad,
but then I saw it again and really paid attention to
it. This only affects lv 5 or higher EFFECT monsters
and does not affect xyz monsters. This card loses a
lot of playability when you realize that this is
ONLY limited to SPECIAL SUMMONS. The only real
upside to this card is that it doesn’t destroy, so
this gets under Stardust Dragon and isn’t affected
by those stray copies of My Body as a Shield. Over
all, Bottomless Trap Hole is the better of the Trap
Hole cards.
Pros: Does not target and does not destroy.
Cons: Limited to Lv 5 and higher EFFECT monsters, so
no hitting xyz or normal monsters, and is only
limited to special summons.

Deep Dark Trap Hole
Normal Trap
"When a Level 5 or higher Effect Monster(s) is
Special Summoned: Banish that Level 5 or higher
Effect Monster(s)."
The week ends with a second highly useful card.
With all the many Synchros and XYZs floating around
in so many players' Extra decks, this card just begs
to be used. Since Bottomless Trap Hole has usually
been saved for the biggest, baddest monsters, (at
least in my circles), this card makes a perfect
addition to any tournament-level deck. All those
powerful special summoned monsters that are too
strong to punch through now have another way to be
gotten rid of. That DDTH only works on effect
monsters of Level 5 or higher isn't too bad of a
restriction, because most players would want to use
it for the big nasties anyways.
Another card I'm sure that will start appearing
in tournament-level decks rather soon.

Welcome back everyone, Blackmarketyugioh here
on Pre-Friday with another normal trap review,
Darklight.
When you activate this card, you must tribute a
Dark monster with 1500Atk or more. Then it destroys
all special summoned monsters on the Field.
Sort of a Fossil Dyna in trap form. I like this
card. As I see this mostly played in Blackwings,
this is definitely a us card. Out of BW, I do not
see it being used by other decks other than your
random dark deck that floats around.
With Fossil Dyna now reprinted, this card I feel
will not see much play. It is a cool add-in beside
Icarus Attack for BW, and can see some play
elsewhere.
Traditional-2/5
Advanced-2/5 Good card, I would say 4/5 In BW, if
they can find the space.
Artwork-3/5 I love the fact that it's Dark Grepher
in the picture, good work.
