D.D. Telepon...the D.D. Universe seems to be an ever growing place, full of various strange creatures, from women, to crows, to beasts, and here, a little Psychic Dolly.  This is a Level 2, Earth attributed, Psychic type Monster, with 500 attack and 1800 defense.  If under your control, and face-up, then removed from play, you can then remove a Psychic type Monster from your Deck with 1500 attack or less.  If this card is still removed during your next Standby Phase, you can Special Summon the Monster removed by this card.  I like this little guy, and he's even splashable outside a Psychic Deck.  He's a combo card for sure, but certainly makes Synchro and XYZ Summoning that much easier.  He certainly can pull of some neat tricks.

Ratings:

Traditional:  2/5  Biggest downside here is the Earth attribute

In keeping with the current theme that is popping up in new sets, we are going to be talking about a card that works well when banished. D.D. Telepon can work in several types of decks. Let’s start with the most obvious deck type: Psychics. There are several cards that work well with Telepon, like Mental Seeker, D.D. Destroyer, Psychic Reactor, Time Escaper, Bright Future, Miracle Synchro Fusion, and Parallel Worlds Fusion. We could even run a Psychic Future Visions deck.

Let’s take a look at some cool plays that we can make with D.D. Telepon. First summon D.D. Telepon and attack your opponent’s Synchro or Xyz monster. Then activate Psychic Reactor to remove both monsters from play and get Telepon’s effect. Lets say you have a Psychic Synchro in the grave and Telepon on the field. Just play Miracle Synchro Fusion to bring out the all powerful Ultimate Axon kicker and get another Psychic monster to your field on your next stand-by phase. Then use Bright Future to draw two cards.

Psychic type decks are not the only decks that D.D. Telepon is useful in. We could use it in a Banish/Monarch deck along with Emergency Teleport and a couple of Kuribon’s. Banished decks are a great answer to the current meta. Unfortunately they are dependant on specific cards to make them work. It is for that reason that my ratings are not higher.

Thursday has brought us to our look at D.D. Telepon. Telepon is a level 2 Earth/Psychic with 500 ATK and 1800 DEF. Telepon's effect says if it is banished while face up, you can banish one psychic type from your deck with 1500 ATK, then, if Telepon is still banished during your next standby phase, special summon the monster that you chose to banish with Telepon's effect. 500 ATK is bleh, but 1800 DEF is pretty good. As far as Telepon's effect goes, it's good for setting up future moves by banishing the right monster. With choices like Psychic Commander, Krebons and a few others, you can set up future moves like tributing, Xyz or synchro summoning. Getting it banished is the trick, but you're all smart enough to figure that out. Telepon may not seem like much at first, but if you like setting up a move or two ahead, this is your card.

Another Psychic, this one with an interesting search effect. The effect isn't too hard to pull off with the right support, but does take some effort. In a well built psychic deck, this guy can search out almost anything you need. Sadly, since only other psychics can be searched for, that limits his usability.

Today’s card is a psychic cutie, D.D. Telepon!

This card follows the banishing theme of the Extreme Victory Psychics. If (note the IF) Telepon is banished while face-up, you can banish a Psychic with 1500 or less ATK from your deck. Then if it’s still banished during your next standby phase, you can special summon that card. This effect adds some toolboxing to the deck and allows you to trigger the effects of Esper Girl and Mental Seeker without having to draw them. If you use a D.D. deck, you can use Brain Hazard and a card like Brionac to repeatedly trigger Telepon’s effect.

I think this is an interesting card to try out, since it enables a list of fun combos.

Traditional: 1.5/5 (a little too slow I think)
Advanced: 3.5/5 (promotes a D.D./psychic hybrid)
Art: 3.5/5 (kind of cute)
