Wind-Up Knight, a Level 4, Light attributed, Warrior
Monster, all of which are excellent things, with an
equally awesome 1800 attack (and 1200 defense).
Once, while face-up on the Field, this Knight allows
you to negate the attack of an opponent's Monster
toward a face-up Wind-Up Monster you control.
It's worth noting that the effect includes himself,
for once, which is nice. He's one of the few
Monsters in the Wind-Up arsenal that has a high
attack, and the effect can be nice, if only for one
time. Short review, but there isn't much to
this card.

Let’s get right into today’s Wind-Up monster.
Wind-Up Knight has some very nice statistics. First,
it is a Warrior so we can search for it with ROTA
Reinforcements of the Army. It is a level 4 monster,
so we can special summon it with Summoner Monk.
There are many other ways to get this card in your
hand or on the field, like Wind-Up Magician,
Factory, Honey, and Zenmaighty. The other nice
element to this card is that it is a light monster
so it goes well with Honest and BLS Black Luster
Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning. Even if you only
have one Knight in your deck, it can be searched
with the above cards very easily.
Wind-Up Knight fits our Xyz theme very well, as it
has the ability to protect itself long enough to
summon another Wind-Up for an Xyz summon. It is not
slouch ether with 1800 attack points. Let’s take a
look at some other reasons to run Knight in a
Wind-Up deck. First, summon Tour Guide and use its
effect to summon another and then Xyz into
Zenmaighty. Detach an Xyz and summon Wind-Up Knight.
Sense Wind-Up Zenmaighty has only 1500 attack and
defense; you will need Knight’s attack negation
effect to protect it from battle. You could also use
Safe Zone to protect it. Next turn, special summon
another level 4 Wind-Up monster and Xyz into a rank
4 like Zenmaister.
If you are going to run a Wind-Up themed deck in the
future, you may consider running at least one
Wind-Up Knight. The theme does not depend on this
card so my rating will reflect that, but until the
cards that I talked about yesterday come out, go
ahead and add this card to your Wind-Up deck.

Tuesday here on pojo and the second card on
Wind-Up week is fresh from Photon Shockwave, Wind-Up
Knight! Knight is a Level 4, Light/Warrior with 1800
ATK and 1200 DEF, those are pretty good stats.
Knight's effect is that one time, while this card if
face up, you can negate an attack that targets this
card. It's a pretty simple effect. Reinforcements of
the Army, Wind-Up Factory and Wind-Up Magician are
just a few ways to get Knight to your hand. Cards
like Book Of Moon, Spring Rewinding and Wind-Up
Zenmiaghty will let you use Knight's effect again.
You could even use Honest with Wind-Up Knight!
Overall, a nice addition to the Wind-Up theme, and
he's awesome looking too!
Traditional: 1 Yes, he's light but Chaos still rules
here, always will.
Advanced: 3 Can be played outside of a Wind-Up deck.
Tomorrow: Careful, he can pinch you with those
things.

"When a face-up "Wind-Up" monster you control is

This guy serves as the defense for all of your
other WUs and has a decent attack power to match,
helping him to stick around longer. I would dare say
that he's a staple card of the deck despite his
one-shot use effect.

The clocks have been set back
so let’s Wind-Up for this week! Wind-Up Knight!
We’ve got a Wind-Up here that
can negate one attack while it’s face-up on the
field, so long as the attack target is a Wind-Up.
This effect allows itself to protect itself and set
up combos at the same time. While Wind-Up Magician
is out, your opponent might avoid attacking you all
together to prevent you from swarming the field. But
even without comboing, Knight is a good top-decking
card. It can possibly buy you another turn and its
1800 ATK point body keeps the hurt down when their
attack does go through. And the fact that it’s a
warrior is nice as well, since it can be toolboxed
into a warrior deck.
