Shooting Quasar Dragon--how I love thee. To open,
we have another card picture with an incredibly sick
picture. Shooting Quasar Dragon is a Level 12, Wind
attributed, Dragon type Synchro Monster, who is
Synchro Summoned with a Tuner-type Synchro Monster,
and two or more non-Tuner, Synchro Monsters.
Shooting Quasar Dragon boasts an impressive 4000
attack and defense, which is more than enough to
take out anything and everything. Now, this Monster
cannot be Special Summoned outside of Synchro
Summon, which IS a downside, but a necessary balance
to such an unwiedly, and powerful card. Now,
Shooting Quasar Dragon is allowed a number of
attacks per turn equal to the number of Non-Tuner
Monsters used during the Synchro Summon. Once per
turn, you can negate the activation or effect of a
card, and destroy said card. Furthermore, when this
card leaves the field, it replaces itself with
Shooting Star Dragon. This is one hell of a card,
and is almost guaranteed to win you a game if you
get it on the Field.

Today we get to the good stuff and the biggest
reason to subscribe to Shonen Jump Magazine. If you
subscribe now or within the next six months, one of
the cards you will receive is Shooting Quasar
Dragon. This highly anticipated card comes with some
pretty hefty summoning requirements. It takes 3
synchro monsters with one of them being a tuner. At
first glance, that would seem to be improbable.
While in most decks this is true, there are a number
of popular deck types that can accomplish this feat
and still have plenty of resources left to win the
game.
Probably the best deck type for synchro summoning
runs the plant engine with cards like Lonefire
Blossom, Spore, Glow-Up Bulb, Debris Dragon, Foolish
Burial, and One-For-One. Add in some more token
generating cards like Dopplewarrier, Scrapegoats,
and/or Tanngrisnir of the Nordic Beasts, and you
will have plenty of levels for those synchro
summons. Then add in more special summoning cards
like Cyber Dragon, The Tricky, and Quickdraw
Synchron and you can see that getting 3 synchro
monsters to the field is not impossible.
One of the key synchro monsters in summoning
Shooting Quasar Dragon could be T.G. Recipro
Dragonfly. This card combined with Formula Synchron
and a level 8 monster are exactly what we need. T.G.
decks combined with plants can accomplish this quite
easily. Imagine summoning T.G. Hyper Librarian, then
T.G. Recipro Dragonfly and T.G. Wonder Magician.
Blow-up a spell or trap card of your opponent’s
while drawing 2 cards, then send Wonder Magician to
the grave for Dragonfly’s ability and summon it
again to blow up a spell or trap and draw another
card. For those of you counting, that is a plus 5
cards and enough stars for Shooting Quasar Dragon.
Other decks include Flamvell with plants and
Rekindling and a new deck type from the future
called Laval which is also used with Rekindling. You
do not even have to get all of your synchro monsters
out on one turn as Formula Synchron and T.G. Recipro
Dragonfly can be brought back from the graveyard
with Limit Reverse, Graceful Revival, Call of the
Haunted, and Monster Reborn. A good card to use to
bring out your level 2 monsters is Level Eater. This
card goes great in a Quickdraw deck to bring out
multiple synchro monsters. Even fish decks have the
ability to special summon synchro’s fast, making
Quasar Dragon a good extra deck card.
So why dedicate all of our resources to bringing
out this big dragon? Let’s start with 4000 attack
and defense. Then add in the fact that it can attack
2 or more times in one turn. That is 8000 attack
points for my mathematicians. But we are not done
yet. Quasar Dragon can negate a cards activation or
a cards effect and destroy it. If we stopped there
this card would only be great. Now in the ability to
summon a Shooting Star Dragon when it leaves the
field. That is why we want to go through all this
trouble, because this card is awesome. Although this
card is not for every deck, it can be used in most
of the top tier decks in play today and in the near
future.

I hope you all had a great Halloween filled with
candy and goodies....I got a rock. The 2nd day of
our JUMP exclusive week bring us to Shooting Quasar
Dragon. This specialty of Yusei's is a whopping
level 12 Light/Dragon synchro with 4000 ATK and DEF.
Quasar Dragon needs a Synchro/Tuner and two or more
non tuner monsters. It's effect is first, this card
can only be synchro summoned, no other way around
it. Quasar Dragon gets to attack for as many
non-tuner monsters you used to summon it. Once per
turn, you can pretty much negate anything your
opponent tries in the form of card or monster
effects. When this card leaves the field, you can
summon Shooting Star Dragon. All in all, this card
packs a heck of a punch, but needs a lot of setting
up to get to. Special summoning like crazy, using
everything you have and more. The materials you have
on the field you would use to get Quasar Dragon may
be enough to win the game. It is worth getting out,
yes with its negating and destroying effect, and
should it leave the field in anyway, you get to
summon Shooting Star Dragon from the extra deck. But
you may have enough to win without it.

Tomorrow: This guy always knows what time it
is.....always.
Next off we have one big monster. Real Big.
Shooting Quasar Dragon.
A huge Level 12 LIGHT Dragon-Type Synchro with
4000 ATK and DEF, but it requires at least three
smaller Synchro Monsters (one Synchro Tuner and 2
other Synchros) to be summoned.
A pig of a card to summon, but not impossible.
Plant Synchro, T.G.
Synchro and Fish can realistically bring this card
out without losing too much advantage - not like
it'll matter. When Quasar is on the field, the
player on the opposite end of his wrath are screwed.
Once per turn negation and destruction of any card
effect, maximum of five attacks (minimum of two) per
turn and if your opponent actually does get rid of
it, BAM! Shooting Star Dragon replaces him.
Apart from being hard to summon, there is one
thing you should always keep in mind! Quasar's
effect to Summon Shooting Star Dragon can miss the
timing. So be careful when using it, and keep it in
mind when facing it!

Another heavily restricted summoning condition
monster. Frankly, I doubt this card will ever get
onto the field, seeing as it requires a minimum of 3
synchros just to get out. While his effects are very
powerful, he is far too cumbersome a monster to ever
see the light of day.
