Thunder End Dragon, is a Rank 8 XYZ Mosnter, and XYZ
Summoned with two Level 8 Normal Monsters. This is
a Level 8, Dragon XYZ Monster, who has a rather
unwieldy ability. By discarding an XYZ Material
Monster, Thunder End Dragon destroys all other
Monsters on the Field. Now, there is a Level 8
Dragon (Normal Monster) with 2950 attack I believe
in Photon Shockwave, whose name escapes me, but Blue
Eyes White Dragon would be logical and comes to mind
for a required Monster. Two Level 8 Monsters,
albeit Normal Monsters, is a big investment, but the
effect certainly pays off I believe. Anyone out
there with a Deck focused around this guy, feel free
to shoot me an e-mail,

3.5/5 for power but difficultly in Summoning

First we got Malefic Cyber, Cyber, Dark, and
Light End Dragon, and now we have Thunder End
Dragon. Thunder End Dragon is pretty beastly at 3000
attack and pretty powerful with being able to nuke
the field of monsters once per turn for two turns.
More if you have card effects that help Xyz monsters
with their effects.
Now we get to Thunder End Dragon’s draw back,
because we know that every powerful card has to have
a draw back. Well, except for the broken cards that
Konami mostly does not let us play with in the
Traditional format. In order to summon this behemoth
we have to have two level 8 normal monsters on the
field. That is something that only a select few
decks can routinely accomplish.
The first deck type that comes to mind is one based
on normal monsters with Blue-Eyes White Dragon and
Tri-Horned Dragon. The support for normal monsters
in the game is huge. The have their own search
cards, Mirror Forces, spells and traps, and revival
cards. Some of the cards that can special summon
level 8 normal monsters are Birthright, Soul
Resurrection, Swing of Memories, Call of the
Haunted, Ancient Rules, Silent Doom, Symbols of
Duty, and Monster Reborn. Cards that can get those
level 8 monsters to the hand or graveyard are
Dragonic Tactics, Foolish Burial, Gold Sarcophagus,
Summoner’s Art, and Advanced Ritual Art. The problem
with them is that they cannot survive on their own
like effect monsters can.
The next deck and probably the most viable one is a
Disaster Dragon deck as it can utilize Red-Eyes
Darkness Metal Dragon. With the Wight Stone of
Legend, Cards of Consonance, and Trade-In at their
disposal, they can usually draw into or search for
what they need. What is real nice is that other
powerful themes can be meshed with the Dragon theme
(or even normal monster theme), like the card we
will talk about on Friday, galaxy-Eyes Photon
Dragon, and even Demise, King of Armageddon as it
can use Advanced Ritual Art and create some havoc on
its own.
Traditional: 1/5 (Too much normality)
Advanced: 3/5 (I am expecting some powerful themes
to rise up using this card)

Thursday brings us to one of Photon Shockwave's
more powerful cards, the Xyz monster, Thunder End
Dragon. A Light/Dragon type, with 3,000 ATK and
2,000 DEF. All great stats. Its effect is detach one
Xyz material to destroy all other monsters on the
field, your monsters gets caught in the blast too,
so use with caution. Here's where you would think
that getting TED out is hard, because he needs 2 LVL
8 Normal monsters to summon him. There are several
ways to get TED out, a few tricks are ye olden Lord
of D./Flute of Summoning Dragon to get out two Blue
Eyes White Dragon, and if you don't use TED's
effect, Lord Of D. can protect TED. In a dragon
deck, with Red Eyes Metal on the field, use cards
like Cards of Consonance to get White Stone of
Legend in the grave, get Blue Eyes, use Trade-In,
rinse-repeat there. A normal deck with cards like
Ancient Rules and Birthright. Resonance Device works
with Blue Eyes and Alexandrite Dragon. Even defusing
Ultimate Blue Eyes works. You can even throw in a
Tri-Horned Dragon for laughs. Once this card hits
the field, most likely you would have the game won
with TED's all monster clearing Raigeki effect and
Heavy Storm.

Tomorrow: You should just know.
Thursday's review, another card from Photon
Shockwave: Thunder End Dragon!
The first Rank 8 Xyz Monster is a LIGHT Dragon-Type
that requires two Level 8 Normal Monsters to summon,
so quite a task. The only real deck that can
facilitate this card would be a deck that use
Blue-Eyes White Dragon and his support. Although I'm
still not sure if he is worth using. Two Blue-Eyes'
is a big commitment, and this card has the same ATK
as just one Blue-Eyes at 3000.
The effect though maybe this card's saving grace;
Detach 1 Xyz Material to destroy all other monsters
on the field. If you can summon this card without
using too much advantage, then sure use it, but
Burst Stream of Destruction maybe a better way of
destroying your opponent's cards. It's personal
preference: Would you prefer two Blues- Eyes on the
field that could attack that turn because of Burst
Stream, or commit and summon Thunder End Dragon and
attack for 3000?
I'm not convinced yet. Shame too, he's so cool.
Traditional: 2/5 - Much better and efficient
field-clearers are available.
Advanced: 3/5 - Big card, if your opponent can't
negate it's summon/ effect, they are screwed.
Art: 5/5 - Soooooo coooool~

This is the end! Indignation!
Oh wait a minute, wrong game. Today we have
Thunder-End Dragon!
Thunder-End Dragon is a Rank 8
(the first of its kind) and has the same stats as a
Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Coincidently, it requires
two Normal Monsters as its material (such as two
Blue-Eyes). There are only 9 monsters in the game
that are normal, 8 starred monsters. For this
situational investment it has a pretty good effect,
a near-total field nuke. The power of a field nuke
is not to be underestimated. With two nukes you can
deal 6000 points of damage. This makes Thunder-End
Dragon an excellent end-game option for a Gemini or
Normal monster deck. Gemini’s only have Phoenix
Gearfried, but you’ll only need two revival cards in
the endgame to finish it. Since Normal/Gemini decks
have a larger selection of revival cards (1 Monster
Reborn, 2 Calls, 3 Birthrights, 3 Soul
Resurrections, 3 Silent Doom, 3 Swing of Memories,
etc.) you have a better chance of pulling this off.
You can even use Burst Stream of Destruction to
destroy their monsters and then overlay to attack!
Overall, this is a fun new toy for Gemini and
Normals.
Traditional: 1/5 (more
effective field clearers here)
Advanced: 4/5 (only because it’s not capable of
being placed into decks, but greatly empowers those
that can)
Art: 5/5 (This is the end! Indig … oh what I already
did that; Ultimate Evolution of Thunder Dragon!)

Thunder End Dragon
Ok, just from looking at the
picture of this bad boy I want a playset for my
binder.
Secondly on my review yesterday I had misinterpreted
the effect on galxy queen, when your monsters attack
your opponent.I spent my entire day reading through
textbooks so I was a little burned out.
Now, with that out of the way.Thunder End Dragon is a rank 8, 3000ATK,
2000DEF,
is going to be pretty hard to get out, requiring two
level eight normal monsters. And pulling a pretty solid effect, that once
per turn, you can detach one xyz material to destroy
all other monsters on the field.
That’s a very solid effect,
however, needing two level 8 normal monsters is
where the difficulty lies.Short of ye olde flute of summoning dragon, I
don’t see many plausible ways of getting two level
eight vanillas out to your field.Unless someone comes up with a weird future
fusion, call of the haunted and birthright
(basically call for nillas?)I very much doubt this guy will see much
play.
Traditional: 1/5 goyo, dark
strike, and everything else banned runs rampant, so
you should already have all the tools you need.
Advanced: 2.5/5very sweet art, and a nice effect forthe type of monster being brought out.
