Naturia Horneedle, a Level 4, Earth attributed
Insect type Monster, with 1800 attack, and 100
defense. This is going to be short, but that
doesn't always mean the card isn't good.
Yesterday's card was able to be used in or out of
the Natruia Deck. We don't have that luxury
here. Also, this might be the highest attack
for a Naturia Monster at or below Level 4.
When your opponent Special Summons a Monster,
tribute a face-up Naturia Monster you control, other
than Horneeddle to destroy the Monster. We
seem to have a fair arsenal of cards these days that
negate Special Summons, even in Monster form.
You have the potential to use this effect more than
once, and the 1800 attack is quite respectable.
I'd say it's a staple in the Naturia Deck for sure.

Naturia Horneedle
Today in Naturia Week is Naturia Horneedle.
He's...meh. His effect isn't bad, per se, but it
requires you to have another face-up Naturia, and it
doesn't negate the Special Summon of the monster, so
it can come back as usual and it will still be able
to activate its effect via Turn Player's Priority.
Thunder King does this card's job better, and since
Naturias were supposed to be a stun archetype (I
think), Thunder King should definitely be run,
should you even be running Naturias in the first
place.

Today we're discussing yet another naturia themed
card. This card is somewhat like a Naturia exclusive
anti-meta monster. When your opponent special
summons a monster, you can tribute 1 Naturia monster
on your field, to destroy the special summoned
monster. The fact that it doesn't need too tribute
itself, and it can be any face up Naturia you
control makes this card a lot more playable.
The card also makes for a pretty hefty beater,
running over many monsters of the same level. It's
level being 4 also makes this card a lot easier to
conduct and Exceed or Synchro Summon with. In
conclusion, this card can be fairly useful, but only
in a Naturia based deck.

Welcome back to my second day on pojo's COTD and
the second day of Naturia week. Today's card is
trying hard to be so many things at once, but it may
not be enough. Naturia Horneedle is a LVL 4
Insect/Earth, meh. 1800 ATK is good, but 100 DEF not
so much. Horneedle says "When your opponent Special
Summons a monster, you can tribute one other Naturia
monster you control to destroy that monster." It's
like Hand of the Six Samurai merged with Thunder
King Rai-Oh, with a dash of Exiled Force...sort of.
A few things makes this card short of playable.
First thing is, would you have enough Naturia
monsters on the field to stop your opponent? Naturia
is not known for swarming as it is for lockdown.
Second, it can't tribute itself, yes it balances out
the card, but I'm sure Naturia decks would do a bit
better if it could. This card is a bit too
situational for my tastes. It's just that there
other monster cards that do a better job than
Horneedle.
Traditional- 1
Advanced- 2 (Even in a Naturia Deck)
Naturia Horneedle is one of the more interesting
Naturias out there. Being able to immediately
destroy your opponent's Special Summoned monsters is
very good. However, at the cost of Tributing one of
your Naturias, I'm not sure if it is worth it. The
Naturia archetype lacks the swarming capabilities to
make using this card truly shine, and even if you're
able to summon enough monsters for it, you're better
off keeping them on the field and using cards that
will help you summon the Naturia Synchros or
Bambooshoot instead, since they have much better
controlling effects and can aid your win condition
more efficiently.
An "okay" card for Naturias. If all else fails, it
can a solid 1800 ATK beatstick. But if you want a
beatstick in your Naturia deck, I'd suggest Naturia
Mantis or Dragonfly instead.
Traditional: 1/5 - There are better cards you can
use to negate Special Summons in this format. Royal
Oppression says 'sup.
Advanced: 1/5 - Not worth using, not even in a
Naturia deck in my opinion.
Art: 1/5 - The Naturias are too wholesome.

Next up in our week is Naturia Horneedle!
Horneedle is an insect-type monster with a trigger
effect that can tribute 1 face-up Naturia monster
(except itself) to destroy an opponent’s monster
when it is special summoned. The good news is that
this effect can be used to destroy inherent summons
and effect summons (at chain link 1). The bad news
is that you need another Naturia to use it.
Yesterday’s card, Naturia Cosmobeet, can summon
itself to give you tribute fodder. Naturia Pineapple
resurrects itself during the standby phase and can
be reused. The only problem is that Pineapple can’t
revive if the graveyard isn’t all plant- and
beast-types, so you’ll need to remove Horneedle from
the graveyard if that happens. Naturia Pumpkin can
help speed up the fodder process or Xyz into a Rank
4 (Steelswarm Roach would be a good example). Good
outside support include Gigaplant (which provides
resources) and Scary Moth (which makes it easier to
control the pace of the duel).
Overall, you should use Horneedle as a stepping
stone into the Naturia Synchros and Bamboo Shoot;
then, Horneedle can help further your lockdown.
Outside Naturia builts, Horneedle will rarely be
used as any other than a beatstick.

Naturia Horneedle
So today we have Horneedle, a level
four naturia, packing a very
appreciable 1800 Atk. Whih can
definitely hold off its fair share
of monsters. 100 Def isn’t going to
get you anywhere, but that’s not why
we are taking a look at him today.
The effect of this guy is where (as
with 99% of monsters commonly used)
we see if he is worth his weight (so
to speak, as cardboard weighs very
little…)
When your opponent special summons a
monster (which happens too often to
count these days) you may tribute a
face up naturia monster you control,
except this card, to destroy
the special summoned monster.
This effect could have been amazing
if they changed one of two things.
One being if you could tribute
horneedle itself to destroy the
opponent’s monster, which would have
just made this little guy an instant
splash into anti meta builds. Or if
the effect negated the summon, which
I feel could possibly have made this
guy a gem (overpowered comes to
mind, but how many competitive
naturia builds do you see that
often?). As it stands, if your
opponent is special summoning, and
you have at least one other naturia
to use for this guy, why haven’t you
just tribute away for bamboo shoot?
There are also and traps that
specialize in dealing with summons
made by your opponent, bottomless
trap hole, solemn brothers. But with
all the backrow hate this format,
this guy might be a solid choice to
tech in and see how he does.
Traditional: 1/5 (again, how much
play do naturais even get here?)
Advanced: 3/5 could be a nice
addition for naturias

"When your opponent Special Summons a monster, you
can Tribute 1 face-up "Naturia" monster you control,
except this card, to destroy the Special Summoned
monster."
Unlike yesterday's card, this one has a measure
of staying power. With 1800 attack, he'll be the
lower level muscle of your Naturia deck. Frankly,
his effect is somewhat reasonable as well as
practical, helping you to get rid of some of the
nastiest monsters out there, including Black Luster
Soldier - EoB and synchros. His effect is hurt by
the fact that you can't sacrifice him for his own
effect, but with his stats, he'd be the one you'd
want to keep in play anyways. You can make a few
interesting combos with this guy, provided you get
the right cards in play, such as Limit Reverse with
a low ATK Naturia in the graveyard, such as
yesterday's card. This isn't the best card of the
set, but it's certainly not the worst by far.

Hello fellow Yu-Gi-Oh geeks. I am new to card
reviews, but not new to the game, so I would first
like to introduce myself. I have been playing Yu-Gi-Oh
sense December 2002 around the time Mettle Raider’s
came out. McDonalds came out with cards and got my
son hooked, which meant that I had to play to
fulfill by fatherly duties. I got into judging sneak
peeks a year after that, and that progressed to
Regional’s and then Shonen Jumps. Today, I am
judging the Louisville and Indiana Regional’s, and
most of the YCS’s from the mid-west to the East
coast. Allot of my input into card reviews will be
covering some of the rules that apply to each card.
So, without further ado, let’s talk about our
“Card of the Day” Naturia Horneedle. At 1800 ATK.
This little Insect is one of the beat sticks of the
Naturia monsters. Most Naturia monsters have bad
stats as their main function is to disrupt your
opponent’s strategy. Horneedle can also do some
disrupting as long as it has another Naturia on the
field. After your opponent’s monster is special
summoned, you can tribute 1 other Naturia monster to
destroy it. It responds to the summon, so you can
use it on ANY special summoned monster. It is also a
“Quick Effect” so you can use it in the damage step
against recruiter’s and the monster Gravekeeper Spy
brings out. If more than two monsters are brought
out at the same time, like with Return from a
Different Dimension, it will destroy them all.
Being an Earth monster, it can be used with any
of the Naturia Synchro Monsters. Being an Insect,
you could even use it with Krebons and Emergency
Teleport, to bring out Underground Arachnid, which
is a pretty powerful Synchro monster that can suck
up your opponent’s monsters and attack without
worrying about Spells or Traps.
In a Naturia deck, I would rate this card a 4/5.
In any other deck, this card is useless.

Level 4
Atk/Def 1800/100
When your opponent Special Summons a monster, you
can Tribute 1 face-up "Naturia" monster you control,
except this card, to destroy the Special Summoned
monster
For me there are better cards out there that do
the same thing but at lesds of a cost, for example
Bottomless Trap Hole, does the same thing, but
doesn't cost youa monster, for this guy what I would
have done is. You can negate the special summoning
of your opponents monster for every other Naturia
monster you have face up on the field.
Hello All Continuing our special coverage of
Naturias this week we have Naturia Horneedle. fear
the stinger of this insect.
4 star earth That lets yout tribute a naturia
monster to destroy an opponents special summoned
monster. Not only that but 1800 is fun to play.
This guy combos well with cosmobeet (read yesterdays
reviews). Personally if im playing naturias im
running at least 2 of him because 1800 attack is no
laughing matter and the ability to screw one of your
opponents special summoned monsters is always fun.
He is also earth so of course a good fun tech card
in earth type decks
PROS
1800 attack
Can destroy a special summoned monster
