Continuing the week, we move on to Synchro, Naturia
Landoise, appropriately named, as we seem to have a
giant Tortoise who wanders the Land, carrying a
forest on its back. Naturia Landoise is a
Level 7, Rock type, Synchro Monster with 2350 attack
and 1600 defense. Both of which are low for a
Level 7 Synchro Monster. Landoise is Synchro
Summoned with an Earth type Tuner Monster, and one
or more, non-Tuner, Earth type Monsters.
That's easy enough, many of the Naturia Monsters are
of the Earth attribute. Now what Landoise
lacks in attack power at only 2350, its ability more
or less makes up for. By sending a Magic card
from your Hand to the Graveyard, you can negate the
Effect of an Effect Monster and destroy it.
Certainly good, but it raises one question--if
something more powerful has an Effect to destroy it,
or something else, why wouldn't it just attack and
destroy this Monster? It still can be quite
useful however.

Naturia Landoise
One of the somewhat-newer Synchros, this one is a
commonly seen Naturia monster. It will often show up
in Six Samurai or Karakuri, maybe in Machina
Gadgets. In any case, Landoise allows you to negate
the activation and effect of an opponent's monster
at the cost of one Spell Card from your hand. Pretty
nifty, considering it will often be a one for one
play that can help get dead Spells out of your hand.
However, its summoning conditions are a bit awkward
for a level 7 Synchro, allowing only a select few
decks to effectively utilize it, and having only
2350 attack is a bit low for a level 7.

It's the middle of the week, and we've come to
our 3rd Naturia card on COTD, It's (SPOILER) Naturia
Landoise! Let's see, it's a LVL 7 Earth,
Rock/Synchro (The only Rock-type synchro) with 2350
ATK and 1600 DEF. Wait...2350 ATK? Just short of the
basic 2400 we are all used to. And most monsters
that are based on turtles usually have more DEF. So
it may get overpowered more easily that you think.
It's effect is pretty much Divine Wrath with the
cost of a Spell Card. But do/can you give up those
precious spell cards? Your opponent tries to
activate a monster effect, Landoise shuts it down,
assuming you can pay the cost. Landoise is pretty
easy to get out in a Naturia deck, needing an Earth
tuner and earth non tuners, but even other decks can
utilize Landoise, such as Plants and even Iron
Chain. Its biggest drawback is the cost of a spell
card to negate a monster effect and destroy it, it's
worth doing, but you may get caught without spell
cards in your hand after a turn or two. Is it worth
playing, yes, just use when you have the hand for it
and Landoise could turn the tide for you.

Hello my fellow Yugi-nerds today we are reviewing
1 of 4 synchros in the Naturia forest; Naturia
Landoise.
Turtle turtle! Anyway, this is a level 7 earth
attribute rock type monster requiring 1 earth tuner
and a non tuner earth monster.
While he is on the field you can send 1 spell
card from your hand to the graveyard to negate the
activation of an effect monster and destroy it.
His effect could be useful in this format since
alot of people are running more spells over traps.
Problem is it will deplete your hand and if your
opponent flips a ryko and you only have a smashing
ground or heavy storm in your hand it could be a
tough decision.
Also 2350 attack isnt the best for a 7 star. a 1
tribute monarch can run over him and 1600 defense
isnt anything to be proud of at his level
PROS
Earth and level 7
Aids greatly in a Naturia Deck lockdown
Can negate an opponents monster effect.
CONS
2350 attack (he requires two monsters to synchro, a
monarch needs only 1 monster to summon)
1600 defense( HES A FRICKEN TURTLE!)
Can go through your hand quickly
Cause you to lose a good spell card

Did you know: When a turtle is born he has to
traverse the sand pits to reach the sea, making
young hatchlings easy pickings for birds
Yet another Naturia,
but this one is actually worth using outside of
Naturia decks ;)
Naturia Landoise is one of the Naturia Synchro
Monsters, and one of the better cards in the
archetype. At the cost of a Spell Card in your hand,
you can negate the activation and effect of an
Effect Monster and destroy it. This is one of the
best cards of the Naturia deck and it's easy to see
why. Being able to stop your opponent's monsters in
their tracks can cripple your opponent, essentially
writing off half of their deck. If you are able to
summon this card, even outside of a Naturia deck, it
is worth considering a slot for it in your Extra
Deck.
A good card for Naturias, and outside of Naturias.
The only real faults it has is that it is quite
difficult to summon and the 2350 ATK makes it easy
prey for Monarchs.
Traditional: 2/5 - A good card, but you are probably
better off putting your resources into summoning
better stuff.
Advanced: 3/5 - Worth using if your deck is able to
summon him easily.
Art: 3/5 - I like Rock monsters. I like Tortoises. I
like this.

We move from the main deck to the extra deck with
Naturia Landoise!
The Naturia Synchros are all capable of negating a
certain kind of card effect; Landoise negates
monster effects and requires a spell card to
activate its effect. Its attack is low for a level 7
monster, since it’s just below the Monarch Threshold
of 2400 Atk, but its effect can compensate a little.
Landoise’s effect turns itself into a monster-like
Divine Wrath. With monster effects being rather
prevalent in the meta right now, it will take proper
timing and a wise usage of resources to maintain a
healthy field. Decks that use a lot of spell cards,
or use spells that can add themselves to your hand
(such as Magical Blast and Iron Core of Koaki Meiru),
could reliably use this card’s effect.
This card isn’t just for the cute little critters of
the Naturia Forest, you can use Landoise in any deck
with at least one Earth tuner and an Earth non-tuner
that add up to seven. A rock stun deck will enjoy a
ride on Landoise’s back. King Tiger Wanghu can weed
out tedious and weak tuners and leave you with some
ammo for the stronger monsters. Iron Chain decks can
bring out Landoise with one card. Using the effect
of Iron Chain Repair Man, you summon Iron Chain Coil
and synchro summon. If you don’t have an earth deck,
Glow-up Bulb (which is relatively staple-worthy) can
tune with Iron Chain Dragon and Gaia Knight, The
Force of Earth (note that you’d sacrifice Atk for
the effect though).
Overall, Naturia Landoise isn’t a bad card. Its cost
is a little bit harder to pay, but it still psyches
out your opponent by causing them to think less
clearly and let you maintain control. And Naturias
are all about control.

Continuing the Naturia theme this week is Naturia
Landoise, a level 7 synchro monster, needing earth
monsters as material. In a naturia deck with
earth monsters aplenty, that really shouldn’t be a
problem. His effect of being able to negate an
opponent’s monster effect and destroying said
monster seems pretty good, until you notice that you
need to discard a spell card to use it. While
not absolutely terrible, you generally want to hang
onto your spells, but I guess if you are in a tight
spot this could work nicely. The 2350 Atk and
1600 Def will run over any given 4 star or lower
monster, but won’t stand up to much else, which is
slightly disappointing as it is a level 7 synchro,
you would expect it to have a little more punch than
that. All in all, I guess you could run this
if your extra deck has some space in it, and give
him a shot, but honestly, I wouldn’t think this guy
will get much use, outside of synchroing with an
opponent’s monster with a mind control or something.
The last synchro that was released for Naturia, and
it’s not too bad. This card is basically the synchro
version of effect veiler, with a spell to grave
cost. This card would have been so much better if it
were at the very minimum 2400 atk so a monarch could
not run over this adorable stone tortoise. However,
we are in a monster based format and with that being
said, effects are going off left and right. This
card can card can be useful if you run a plethora of
spells and especially if don’t have an effect veiler
to main/side deck and if you’re running a near all
EARTH deck… Also, beware “Book of Moon” and the
eject button “Compulsory Evacuation Device”.
*key note- if Landoise is not face up at the time
of resolution, the monster effect is not negated.*

so much anywhere else.)

Well, the effect is nice, but for a level seven
synchro, his stats are rather abysmal. Your opponent
can get out their own sycnhro with less effort to
crush this guy with little difficulty. The effect is
pretty good, assuming that the spell card you're
holding isn't useful at the time and your opponent
has a nasty moster effect to use, such as that of
BLS-EoB, but this guys seems like too much effort
for an alright effect and poor stats. There are
other cards that do this effect better.

Today we are looking at a level 7 Earth monster
with 2350 ATK that can negate monster effects. Can
you say anti Chaos Sorcerer? 2350 ATK is low for a
level 7 monster, but it is 50 more attack points
than Chaos Sorcerer and can negate Sorcerer’s
effect. Naturia Landoise is a quick effect so it can
be used in the damage step and against any monster
that uses the chain no matter where it is. It’s one
draw back (besides the low attack points), is that
is has to remain face-up on the field through
resolution to get it’s effect.
There are not a lot of decks that can play this
card. Hence the reason we do not see this card in
many extra decks. It requires a deck with mostly
Earth monsters like X-Saber’s, Samurai, and
Psychics. Psychics are the best fit for this card
and it used to be part of a pretty powerful lockdown
with the other Naturia synchros, Beast and Barkion
before Mind Master was banned. You could also use
Naturia Landoise in a Plant/Synchro deck if you can
find the room. You can summon Landoise with Iron
Chain Dragon or Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth and
Glow-Up-Bulb.
Naturia Landoise is a pretty good synchro monster
in our effect heavy formats, but it’s low attack,
activation requirements, summoning requirements, and
it’s susceptibility to spells and traps, lowers it’s
rating.
