3 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 face-up Attack Position Effect Monster your opponent controls; equip that target to this card. At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a monster whose Attribute is the same as a card equipped by this effect: Destroy that monster.

Well shifting gears back to Hidden Arsenal 6 for the
time being, we open the week with a rather
interesting XYZ Monster, Vylon Disigma. We have a
Rank 4, Light attributed, Fairy type XYZ Monster.
Light and Fairy are well supported, this brings
Honest into play. 2500 attack and 2100 defense are
certainly reasonable enough. You may know what is
more often than not, an immediate downside, in the
fact this Monster requires three cards to XYZ Summon
though. So you immediate think, is the effect worth
the third Monster?
Let's find out. By discarding an XYZ Material from
this card, you can Target (note Target) a face-up,
attack position, effect Monster, your opponent
controls. Could we have made that any more
selective? Not just a Monster, but face-up. Not
just face-up, but attack position. Not just a
face-up, attack position Monster, but an Effect one
(ironically likely the easiest part to accomplish),
and that card is equipped to this card. I just want
to throw out that I wish more people played Counter
Fairies, just want that on record. But back to the
card..
I do really enjoy the fact of the latter effect, in
how if you Battle a Monster with an attribute the
same as the equipped Monster, you destroy that
Monster at the beginning of the Damage Step. It's
honestly not bad, but it's certainly flawed. Maybe
if it destroyed a Monster in the same spot, but even
then I don't see it being worth three Monsters. BLS
is going to remove this, assuming it gets the chance
to attack this anyway. I just think this is
something better off not played.

We are going to be taking a better look at some
of the Hidden Arsenal #6 cards this week. We are
going to start off the week with an interesting Xyz
monster in Vylon Disigma. This light fairy monster
has a nice attack and defense - 2500/2100. It
also has a pricy summoning fee, requiring three
level 4 monsters.
Vylon Disigma has a pretty nice effect in that it
can snatch one of those pesky attack position effect
monsters your opponent controls and use it’s
attribute to become a Cataster against any monster
it battles with the same attribute. Of course, that
is if your opponent does not Warning, Bottomless, or
Effect Veiler it.
There are a couple decks in play today that can
summon Vylon Disigma easily. Turbo Gadgets with
Ultimate Offerings is a really good deck as you get
a bunch of Gadgets from your deck to make Disigma.
In fact, I would say that all of these 3x4 Xyz
monsters coming out are tailor made for Gadgets.
Another deck that is tailor make for Vylon Disigma
is Elemental HERO Bubble Beat. Special summon Photon
Thrasher, normal summon Stratos and search for
Bubbleman. Set your hand and then special summon
Bubbleman. Easy peasy!!
If you are running a deck that can get 3 or more
level 4 monsters to the field in one or two turns.
Then Vylon Disigma should be in your Extra Deck
along with Shock Master.

It's Hidden Arsenal 6 week...I think. We're
looking at a real big fairy in Vylon Disigma. An Xyz
monster with a Rank of 4, needing 3 level 4 monsters
to summon. Once per turn you can detach 1 Xyz
material from this card to target one face up ATK
position effect monster your opponent controls, and
equip it to this card. At the start of the battle
step, if this monster battles your opponent's
monster that has the same Attribute as a card
equipped to this monster by this effect, Destroy
that monster. This is best used against certain
decks, like an all DARK or LIGHT deck. You use
Disigma to steal an opponent's monster , and wreck
anything that resembles him, and just destroy it.
This is a pretty good effect, considering Disigma
needs 3 level 3 monsters to get out. I played
against this card recently and it can wreck your
field if you aren't protecting yourself. A good
card that can be used in and out of the Vylon theme.

There was a mix-up in regards to my Yata-Garasu
article last Wednesday so that only half of my
article went up. That should be resolved now.
Whether you want to bother going back to read it is
your decision, but for now, meet the monsters of
Duel Terminal.
Aesthetics: 5/5 Provoked by the warring of the four
Duel Terminal clans, that of the Gustos, Gishkis,
Gem-Knights, and Lavals, the Steelswarms crawled
from the depths of the earth and threatened all of
that which existed. The tribe that had locked the
Steelswarms away so long ago, the Vylons, descended
from the skies to once again combat their archenemy.
The Vylons Synchro Summoned their ultimate monster,
Vylon Omega which eradicated the Steelswarms in
an cataclysmic outburst. The Vylon race now sits
crumbled, having exhausted their energies to
extinguish the evil Steelswarms. The Gishkis resume
war against Gustos and the Lavals continue to
assault the Gem-Knights. The endangered Vylon tribe,
already set in disarray after the Steelswarm War,
cringes further in disarray at the ongoing violence
of Duel Terminal. Warped by the profound amount of
mutual death between the Vylons and Steelswarms, the
remaining Vylons (Stigma, Tesseract, Pentachloro)
bound themselves together and opened up a wormhole
consisting of antimatter. They opened up the ancient
Greek alphabet and gave life to the letter "Disigma"
(AKA Sampi, ϡ, which in English sounds like "ss" or
"ts") and gave birth to Vairon Dishiguma. After all,
the only reliable way to bring peace to the universe
is to destroy all life...only then can fighting
cease forever. Disigma is allowed to, three times,
kidnap a member of one of the tribes, learn its
strengths and extract its weaknesses, and
resultingly threaten to drive its family into
extinction. Only the Gem-Knights stand a chance,
thanks to their profound amount of Non-Effect
Monsters.
Yes, you read that right, Vylon Disigma CANNOT steal
Normal Monsters. Although very very few Decks
actually use Normal Monsters, so it shouldn't really
be that big a deal.
Triple Rank 4 Xyz...that's pretty hefty. I've
covered Shock Master and Illumiknight before, and I
gotta say, it's really not the easiest thing to do
but if you do, your effect should make up for it.
So...is Disigma's effect any good?
Disigma can steal up to three of your opponent's
Attack Mode monsters and can do that right when it's
summoned, meaning it already does a good job of
wiping away your opponent's monsters. Remember
though, Disigma can only steal Attack Mode monsters,
meaning Disigma is only worth summoning if your
opponent is already attacking you. If your opponent
is beating you down with Dark Armed Dragon or Red
-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon or some other big guy
and you find a way to summon three Level 4's at
once, you can instantly eradicate your opponent's
big monster, which is very good, but...yeah. And I
know that you can use the effect up to three times,
but once you summon Disigma, your opponent will be
switching all monsters to Defence anyway. Until your
opponent draws Mystical Space Typhoon or Heavy
Storm, and also assuming all monsters your opponent
is using is mostly the same Attribute, Disigma will
instantly destroy each monster it fights (EXCEPT
when attacking facedown monsters, Disigma's effect
won't work that way, but it has a good
Dark-Magician-approved stats to work with).
Yes, Disigma is a powerful monster, despite some
more-than-meets-the-eye disappointing features about
it, namely the triple Xyz Material. Given how well
Disigma can eliminate an Attack Mode monster from
your opponent and cause possible rampage from there
on out, it is worth splashing into decks that can
swarm Level 4 monsters. The actual Vylon Deck can
swarm Level 4 monsters extremely easily, but in my
opinion, Disigma is not THAT impressive there. Vylon
Segment, Vylon Filament, or one of the Union
Monsters can be equipped onto Disigma to make it
extremely protected (combined with its own effect),
and Disigma can also be used to help fuel Vylon
Omega's effect, but that's pretty much it as far as
compatibility Disigma has with the rest of the Vylon
family. I guess if you have Creature Swap, you can
end up equipping Disigma with another Vylon monster,
but that's kinda troublesome. Also, Disigma clogs up
your Spell/Trap Zone, when Vylons already have a
huge reliance on having space for so many Spell
Cards. But yeah, Disigma is definitely cool.

Philosophy Corner: Adolf Hitler quit the Olympics in
1936 when Jesse Owens of the United States won men's
track-and-field. I wonder how Hitler would've
reacted to the Opening/Closing Ceremonies of the
2012 Olympics.
