Closing the week we look at Gishki Noellia. This
is another new Archtype, in an effort to make
Rituals more playable. Good luck with that (and I'm
even a guy who supports and thinks things like
Rituals are fun!) Just for a tidbit, according to
wiki, these Gishki Monsters use and harness the same
power as the Monsters as the Ice Barrier, but use it
for a different purpose. Anyway, this family of
cards has three specific Magic cards used to Ritual
Summon their own Monsters. One of them is garbage,
one of them is fairly conditional, while the third
might actually be reasonable. Anyway, these Decks
focus on constant recycling, and dumping, in order
to easily use (reuse) effects and Monsters. (I see
this as not nearly as intriguing as say the Laval
theme from earlier, and far more difficult to use,
and not just because of the Rituals involved). They
need much more support to be released in English to
be even remotely successful, in my opinion, anyway.
As for this card, Level 4, Spellcaster,
Water...1700 attack and 1000 defense. When Normal
Summoned (and ONLY Normal Summoned) you can reveal
the top five cards of your Deck. Any Ritual Magic
cards and Gishki Monster cards are sent to the
Graveyard, while the others are returned to the
bottom of the Deck in any order you choose. This
card is good enough for the Deck, I suppose. But I
think this would be much better an Archtype if it
could just add things to the Hand faster as opposed
to dumping and recycling. Until there's more
support, or someone breaks this thing open and wins
an SJC or something, I see this as garbage.

Our final review of the week is an interesting
card, because it has to do with the Ritual monsters
and Ritual support. Haven't seen a Ritual monster
played since the field clearing days of Demise, King
of Armageddon. Gishki Noellia is a
WATER/Spellcaster, with 1700 ATK and 1000 DEF. When
this card is Normal summoned, you can reveal the top
5 cards of your deck; send any Ritual spell cards or
Gishki monsters to your graveyard and all other
cards go to the bottom of your deck in any order.
That's pretty snazzy when you team that effect with
Gishki Beast to special summon a level 4 or lower
Gishki monster in your graveyard in face up defense
position. You can Xyz summon, or Ritual summon
Evigishki Levianima or Evigishki Soul Ogre. Or if
you need some of those cards in your hand that you
put in the graveyard with Noellia's effect, you can
use Salvage or Gishki Marker's effect, or both. This
a good card for the Ritual monsters, even if it is
limited to just the Gishki and Evigishki theme. The
only downfall is that it may take some time to set
up, depending on your hand. By the time you might be
ready, it could be game over by then.
