Don't get me wrong, I love Dark Magician, as you
know, but this cute little Magician makes him all
but obsolete. Level 7, with the identical attack
and defense (2500-2100), and able to be Special
Summoned by revealing three Spellbook Magic cards in
your Hand. That's a BIT of a price, it would be
more fun if you could remove them from play instead.
Once a turn, you can remove a Spellbook Magic card
from your Hand to target and destroy one card on the
Field. A potential 1-for-1 every turn is certainly
an excellent thing. The Spellbook Archtype is
definitely one I'm working hard to get all the cards
for to play and test to see just how competitive
they can be. We'll get around to covering the rest
of these cards too, I promise (I think there are
others on this list, maybe not)

Today’s review is on the Spellbook themes royalty
– High Priestess of Prophecy. There is a good reason
that all of the card traders at the sneak peak kept
trying to get this card off me. Having 3 Spellbook
cards in hand is just one way to summon her as she
can be normal or special summoned as well. With
Monster Reborn, 2 Call of the Haunted, and 3
Spellbook of Life’s, it is easy to retrieve her from
the graveyard and use her effect to destroy a card
on the field.
You can also use Magical Dimension and Magical
Exemplar to special summon her, so getting her out
and having Spellbooks in the graveyard is not going
to be a problem in a Spellbook/Prophecy deck. Then
once she uses her effect, you can use Alma Spellbook
to get the banished spellbook back to your hand.
High Priestess of Prophecy is just one piece to the
royal family, but her destruction effect is key to
the Prophecy theme.

Our last card of the week is ranked 7 and I
thought it would have been a bit higher. High
Priestess is in charge of these Prophecy monsters
and it shows. With her ATK and DEF stats matching
the Dark Magician, except that instead of DARK,
Priestess is a LIGHT/Spellcaster-Type. She uses the
Spellbooks that the rest of her Prophecy clan uses.
You can reveal 3 Spellbook spell cards in your hand;
Special summon this card from this from your hand.
Once per turn, you can banish one Spellbook spell
card from your hand or graveyard to target 1 card on
the field, destroy that target.
Assuming Priestess doesn't get hit with Effect
Veiler or some Trap Card effect, your opponent knows
that they are about to lose some kind of field
presence real quick. You can unload once per turn on
your opponent's field by banishing your spellbooks.
But the choice comes on how much you need those
spellbook cards that are in your hand such as
Spellbooks of Life and Power. This card can
overpower a lot of cards in the game and her effect
is reason enough to try to build a Prophecy deck.

High Priestess of Prophesy
Nice boss monster, easy to summon, and is a
controller. Im not sure what to think of these
spellbook cards though. Its staple for the deck, but
will the deck itself be usable? Will it just be
another "coulda been" kind of decks? Id give the new
format a few events in, and see how things turn out
