Cardcar D, a card I'm sure you have, will have, or at the very least are entirely familiar with due to the phrase "Draw two cards." Honestly, about everything related to this card that doesn't involve the Draw effect and the end of the Turn are about irrelevant. You can't Special Summon this card (which is a nice balance even with the forcable Turn end) and by Tributing it following a Normal Summon, you Draw two cards. That's a +1, and those are good things. Essentially you're giving up the rest of your turn (obviously) but it's hardly the end of the world. There isn't a great deal to say about this.  It's a Yuma card, I don't keep up with Zexal much, but I've only seen him use it once.  Play, abuse, enjoy =)

Ratings:

Traditional:  Not being able to Special Summon hurts here far more than in Advanced, and we have all the broken cards, 3/5

Advanced:   4.5/5

We continue our count down to number 1 with an amazing but hard to get card called Cardcar D. A Secret Rare card from Galactic Overlord, Cardcar D is the monster equivalent of Pot of Greed. By playing Cardcar D, you automatically gain a plus one advantage. The disadvantage is that you can not summon any other monsters that turn and you have to end your turn in Main Phase 1.

Because of the strict restrictions on playing Cardcar D, there are not very many decks that can utilize it very well. With the speed at which a deck type can overwhelm you in today’s game with decks like Wind-Up, Dragon, and Hieratics, not having a monster on the field to defend you could translate into a quick loss. The decks you are going to see Cardcar D in are decks that play hand traps like Trageodia, Gorz, and Battle Fader, or decks that rely on draw power like Exodia or Burn/Stall decks.

Ideally the decks you are going to see Cardcar D in are Hieratic, Exodia, and Mystic Piper. In Hieratic decks, Cardcar D allows you to get to your combos faster. As it plays Trageodia, Gorz, and Max “C”, it also has protection against swarm attacks. Exodia is all about draw power so any card that gives you that is beneficial. Mystic Piper decks are all about drawing into hand traps so Cardcar is a perfect fit for the deck.

Cardcar D is not for every deck, but the decks it works well in gain a tremendous bonus from this card’s draw power.

Traditional: 4/5
Advanced: 5/5 Greed is good!!!

Coming in 4th place is Cardcar D. This restricted little Pot of Greed on wheels became an instant hit as soon as it was released and found its way into a variety of decks, but really only becoming useful in some.

Cannot be special summoned. During your main phase 1, if this card was normal summoned this turn: You can tribute this card; draw 2 cards, then it becomes the end phase of this turn. You cannot special summon during the turn you activate this effect.

In my opinion, not every deck can benefit fully benefit from this card. As stated before, Cardcar D's effect during your Main phase 1, only if it was normal summoned that turn, it cannot be special summoned in anyway, then when you tribute it to Draw 2 cards, it goes right to your end phase and you can't special summon after you do that. But you get to draw 2 cards! You can use this card in most decks, using it if you are ahead in the game and confident enough that you feel your opponent can't come back and feel like giving them an extra turn. So if you are going to do anything, set or use spells/traps, special summon monsters, get all that out of the way first, then normal summon and tribute Cardcar D. It brought new life for the Exodia/Stall and Burn/Stall deck types for reasons you should already know. This card works so well with One Day of Peace and Pot of Duality, as One Day protects you during your opponent's turn and you don't have to worry about special summoning anyway when you use Duality. For giving life to a few deck types that needed it, we give Cardcar D a welcome spot on our list.

Traditional: 2
Advanced: 4.5
Number 3: X marks the spot

We're off till Jan 2nd. Happy New Year from all of us at the COTD team!!!
