Since there are not very many cards with the Gagaga theme, we are going to switch to the Gogogo them. Hey they are close right, just turn the “o” to an “a”. There are only 2 Gogogo monsters that I know of: Today’s card Gogogo Giant and Gogogo Golem. Gogogo Giant has a nice attack with 2000, but unfortunately it has nasty effects that change it to defense and with 0 defense, it is not going to last long.

This card does have some pluses. First, when you summon Giant you get to special summon a Gogogo from your graveyard. This means that you will be able to Xyz summon a rank 4 monster. If that special summoned Gogogo is another Giant, you can summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. It is not hard to get a Gogogo to the grave. Just use Foolish Burial or Rock Bombardment.

A Thursday here on Pojo and we're looking at another card with a name you can't say 5 times fast. Gogogo Giant is level 4 EARTH/Rock type with 2000 ATK and 0 DEF. When Gogogo Giant is normal summoned, you can target 1 Gogogo monster and your graveyard and special summon it in face up defense position. Then, change this card to defense position. If this card attacks, it is changed to defense position after the battle phase. Giant is there to make Xyz summoning, and synchro summoning to an extent, even faster. While 2000 is good for a level 4 monster, 0 DEF is bleh. And that DEF means something cause if you attack with Giant it switches itself to defense position after the battle phase. It's best effect lies in it's ability to special summon another Gogogo monster from the grave in face up defense. Depending on what you do, you can Xyz or synchro summon, or just have two walls there for protection. Gogogo Giant does what he does pretty well, Gets you a free monster from the grave to do what you need with.

Angelic Nightmare

Hello and welcome to a brand new format where the plant synchro deck is dead and the Top 3 decks are currently: Dino Rabbit, Inzektors, and Wind-up! Today we are reviewing Gogogo Giant, so let’s continue.

Rock/ Earth/ Level 4/ 2000 ATK/ 0 DEF

When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 "Gogogo" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Defense Position, then change this card to Defense Position. If this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase.

This card would go great in (obviously) rock stun decks. It can easily get over Thunderking Rai-oh and other 1900 and 1800 atk pests. The best part of this card is that it has a recursion ability which allows you to summon another monster from its own archetype. The obvious play is special summoning another Gogogo Giant then go into a Rank 4 XYZ as its defense is basically nonexistent.

Pros: good attack, great recursion effect, and is potentially a 1 card rank 4 XYZ monster.

Cons: Laughable defense and not so great continuous effect.

Advanced 2/5

Gogogo Giant

Well, I'll give you one thing: 2000 ATK isn't bad (for that matter, Gogogo Golem's 1800 ATK is not shabby either given it's an Earth Rock).

Given the likely prospect of more Gogogo's being introduced in the future, I think it's way too early to be giving Giant a decent rating. Regardless, there are a total of six Gogogo monsters you can run: three each of Giant and Golem.

Golem, in itself, is decent, I suppose, and is worth considering for its synergy with Giant (it turns out most level 4 Rock monsters with over 1800 ATK tend to have negative effects). Giant itself can instantly revive another copy, and is obviously meant for an immediate Xyz summon, usually for Utopia or, if a Rock theme is going on, Gem Knight Pearl. Alternatively, if no such target is available to summon, you can attack using Giant itself, then Xyz with a level 4 monster already on the field (or Synch with a Tuner) to bypass its suicidal effect. Finally, since it is a 2000-ATK level 4 monster with swarm capability, it can be a tool to play Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, although I highly doubt anyone would want to consider that route.

To maximize its effect, you pretty much are mandated to use three Gogogo Golems, and until more support is produced, it just isn't all that fascinating.

Niche Decks: Rock Swarm, Gogogo, Photon

Traditional: 1
Advanced: 1.8
Aesthetics: 2/5 Go, go, Power Rangers?

Philosophy Corner: Once a shark killed a human. This, in turn, incited the entire village to declare a vendetta and go to the river in order to hunt the shark. How would it be justifiable to seek murder as an act of violence against a creature that needs to prey for its survival?
