Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo is the key card in a
Ninja deck, just like Elemental Hero Stratos is to
Elemental Hero decks. The only difference is that
you can play 3 Hanzo’s. Also like Stratos, Hanzo has
several cool effects. Depending on how it is
summoned, Grandmaster Hanzo can search for a
Ninjitsu Art card or Ninja monster. That is where
the fun begins.
When you normal summon Hanzo, you can add a Ninjitsu
Art card to your hand. If you add a Ninjitsu Art of
Super-Transformation to you hand, you can then use
it on your Hanzo and your opponent’s monster to
summon a Dragon, Dinosaur, or Sea Serpent from your
deck, like Dark Horus as it has the ability to
special summon Hanzo again on your opponent’s turn.
Or maybe even Horus the Black Flame Dragon against
all of those decks that are heavy on spell cards.
You could also search for Ninjitsu Art of
Transformation and use it on Hanzo to bring out Dark
Simorgh. If you also have Anti-Spell Fragrance
active, you could lock your opponent.
When you flip or special summon Hanzo, you get to
search for any Ninja monster. This sets up nicely
with Upstart Golden Ninja. Summon Upstart and use
its effect to special summon Hanzo, using Hanzo’s
effect to grab another Upstart from you deck to
repeat the process on your next turn. As they are
both level 4, you can then Xyz summon for up to
three straight turns. Another nice little tidbit is
that Hanzo is a dark and Upstart is a light, so
running chaos is another option. If you are spell
heavy instead of trap heavy, you could run Summoner
Monk, get Hanzo’s effect when special summoned and
then Xyz summon. As both Summoner Monk and Hanzo are
dark monsters, you could Xyz summon Verz Nightmare
(sorry, but it is a DT in Japan and not out yet).
As you can see, Ninja decks do not have to be
straight Ninja’s. Apparently Ninja’s just run around
the field and set it up for more controlling
monsters. With the Ninjitsu Art cards, we can make a
verity of decks where there is only your imagination
to limit it. One thing is for sure though and that
is Nina Grandmaster Hanzo is a must run in three’s.

Angelic Nightmare
Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo
Warrior/ Dark/ Lv 4/ 1800 ATK/ 1000 DEF
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Ninjitsu
Art" card from your Deck to your hand. When this
card is Flip or Special Summoned: You can add 1
"Ninja" monster from your Deck to your hand, except
"Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo”.
Today we bring you the most interesting of the
ninjas and the one that ties the archetype together,
Hanzo. Now Hanzo has decent attack, at least he can
hold his own and can knock around some monsters that
are set. His effect is where he shines. No matter
how he is summoned he will replace himself, which is
probably the best thing about him. Besides his
self-replacing effect, there really much else to him
except that he is a target for all the ninjitsu trap
cards and can evade effects due to them.
Pros: Chaos food, self-replacing/deck thinning, and
decent attack.
Cons: You can’t choose what effect to activate.

Friday:
Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo
Lv 4/DARK/Warrior/1800A/1000D
"When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 "Ninjitsu
Art" card from your Deck to your hand. When this
card is Flip or Special Summoned: You can add 1
"Ninja" monster from your Deck to your hand, except
"Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo"."
This is meant to be the real search engine of any
ninja deck and should be run in threes. If you run
him with Marauding Captain, you can search out any
ninja and get him out in ATK mode like he deserves.
Being able to search out any Ninjitsu Art card is
also very handy. The best card of the set.

Friday is here. So is our look at Ninja
Grandmaster Hanzo. Hanzo, a level 4 Dark/Warrior
with 1800 ATK and 1000 DEF. His effect reads: When
this card is normal Summoned, you can add 1 Ninjitsu
art card from your deck to your hand. When this card
is flipped or special summoned, you can add 1 Ninja
monster from your deck to your hand. There are
several ways to get this card out, but the most
useful way is with Upstart Golden Ninja and use
Hanzo's effect to get another Golden Ninja, Xyz a
level 4 and prepare to do it again. Hanzo is a must
for the Ninja deck, whether it's for getting a
ninjitsu art card or another ninja monster. Keep
your eyes on the ninja theme at tournaments, they
will make an impact.
