White Dragon Ninja...I absolutely LOVE this
picture...so anime, so awesome, Dragon Ninja, I'm
glad I have a couple of these :) Anyway, a tribute
monster? There's something we don't look at often
in the world of XYZ, Synchro, and the like. This is
a Level 7 Monster, Light attribute, and a Dragon,
with 2700 attack and 1200 defense. So two tributes,
obviously not a great thing, but can be Special
Summoned, although only by the effect of a "Ninjitsu
Art" card. Some of these new Ninja cards are
awesome, and this is one of the best. We should
probably do a week of them I'm thinking...but what
does this one do? Honestly, not a great deal.
Magic and Trap cards you control cannot be
destroyed by card effects...its not a bad effect,
but doesn't justify the two tributes despite the
badass art.

White Dragon Ninja is pretty much the boss
monster for Ninja’s. There is plenty of support in a
Ninja deck to accommodate this card. Summoning Ninja
Grandmaster Hanzc will get White Dragon Ninja to
your hand and Totem Dragon gives you the easy
summon. You can also special summon White Dragon
Ninja from the deck with Ninjitsu Art of
Super-Transformation.
Once you get this boss Dragon to the field, you can
protect it with Safe Zone. Now, about the only thing
your opponent can do is bounce Safe-Zone with
something like Brionic. Of course you could Effect
Vieler the dragon and hit safe zone with MST on your
opponent’s turn. With White Dragon Ninja on the
field protecting your spells and traps, you can have
all kinds of fun with spell and trap cards.
Playing Vanity’s Emptiness will prevent your
opponent from summoning a monster that can get rid
of White Dragon Ninja. Using Royal Decree can shut
down trap cards. If you are using traps that are
also monsters when activated, they cannot be
destroyed by effects or battle. Your opponent’s
MST’s and Heavy Storm will be dead cards while your
Heavy Storm becomes a Harpies Fairy Duster
destroying only your opponent’s spells and traps.
Malevolent Catastrophe will do the same thing.
White Dragon Ninja could become a card that Ninja
decks can build around. It just needs to be
supported by spells and traps to give it a useful
purpose.

It's the year of the dragon and we're looking at
one that prefers the company of Ninjas, White Dragon
Ninja. Dragon Ninja is a level 7, Light/Dragon type
with 2700 ATK and 1200 DEF. Dragon Ninja's effect
says: This card cannot be special summoned, except
by a "Ninjitsu Art" card effect. As long as White
Dragon Ninja is face up, Spells and Traps you
control cannot be destroyed by card effects. While
Dragon Ninja cannot be special summoned without a
Ninjitsu Art card, and needing the right levels of
ninja monsters, you can still normal summon this
card though other means such as Cost Down, Totem
Dragon and Star Blast. Once it hits the field, it
will protect your spells and traps from any and all
destruction, thus turning your Heavy Storm into
Harpy's Feather Duster. Throw in Safe Zone and you
have a card that's not going anywhere and that will
protect your back row. In a Ninja deck, this will be
the key card in winning, while in other decks, it
will take some time and set-up to get out. A great
card for a newly reborn arch-type, or a new toy for
Dragons or a few other decks.

As soon as I saw this card I thought the art work
of this card was just simply amazing. I’m a fan of
the Ninja archetype and I absolutely love dragons,
so this card became on my want list almost
instantly. Anyways, on to my usual review.
White Dragon Ninja
Dragon/ Light/ Lv 7/ 2700 ATK/ 1200 DEF
Cannot be Special Summoned, except with a "Ninjitsu
Art" card's effect. Spell/Trap Cards you control
cannot be destroyed by card effects.
Let me say is this card is completely useless
outside of Ninja decks and can easily clog be a dead
card if you don’t draw into the Ninjutsu Art cards
in a reasonable amount of time. This card prevents
the destruction based cards. Couple this card with
Safe Zone and you have a pretty decent wall with a
not so bad effect. If this card gets out on the
field it’s going to be a semi-decent challenge to
get over. You don’t have to fear Mirror Force or
Torrential Tribute when you want to make a big play.

"Cannot be Special Summoned, except with a "Ninjitsu
Art" card's effect. Spell/Trap Cards you control
cannot be destroyed by card effects."
Well, the fact that he can't be special summoned
other than with a NA hurts, but still, his effect is
amazing. I think that this may very well be the card
that could make a FINAL deck playable. I've always
regretted that the FINAL deck was so hard to pull
off simply because of the vast ammount of S/T
removal used in the game (esp. in the current
format), but WDN gives the deck a fighting chance.
Keeping continuous & Field Spells, as well as
Trap cards in play is one of the hardest things in
the game to do, so this guy makes for a very welcome
addition to the game. His stats are good and while
he needs 2 tributes, you could experiment with
several ways to bring him out. He works amazingly
well in a ninja deck, too.
Today’s card is White Dragon Ninja. It is the
themed boss monster of ninja decks, being that it is
both a dragon and also counts for uses with cards
that require ninjas. This card can only be special
summoned by a Ninjitsu Art card, most likely super
transformation. It protects all you spell and trap
cards from being destroyed by anything. The drawback
is that it has no protection of itself, but this is
mitigated by your spells and traps protecting White
Dragon Ninja. 2700 attack is good for a boss monster
and it is also a LIGHT dragon, and we know all the
support both of those get. It is not the best card
for a boss monster in a ninja deck but will suffice
if you have no other options. The fact that it is a
nomi monster hurts it though.
When read the effect, I got very excited because
Ninjas are a very old theme, and was nice to see it
getting new support finally, and then I saw the
Level of it. Obviously the deck can do tricks with
their Cont. Traps cards, but I want to go over this
lesson that I learned some time ago: Never build a
deck with cards imaging that everything will go your
way. What does this mean? What happens when your
opponent breaks your setup and you are topdecking?
This is one reason why people don’t use tributes
anymore, dead topdecks, or if your opponent has a
commanding lead on you, it doesn’t help you make a
comeback. Amazing effect, but use at your own risk
