This orb vaguely resembles the orb of the Winged
Dragon of Ra. Obviously you ONLY play this in a
Hieratic Deck, Special Summon it from your Hand,
Deck, or Graveyard via other Hieratic effects, and
use it to Synchro and/or XYZ Summon. It may be one
of, if not the biggest, pieces of the Hieratic
puzzle. Even if it's in your Hand, via Hieratic
effects, you aren't likely to hold onto it for very
long, and obviously it's never something you WANT to
draw, per say, it doesn't hurt too I suppose.
Ratings:
No rating as you use it in this Deck, and only this
Deck.
5/5 in a bizarre of the wall tribute heavy Normal
Monster Deck though, involving things like Skull
Servant, Snapesnatch, things like that...

There is not a great deal to say about today’s
card as Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord is
a normal monster. It is what other Hieratic monsters
can do with this card that is the issue. Being a
level 8 Hieratic normal monster, it can be special
summoned from the deck, hand, or grave with all of
the Hieratic monsters. Then you can use it with
other cards to do some amazing things.
Using Advance draw and White Elephant’s gift will
net you two cards. Using Inferno Reckless Summon,
you can summon two more Overlords’ and then Xyz
summon Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, Galaxy-Eyes
Photon Dragon, Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of
Heliopolis, and Thunder End Dragon.
Xyz summoning those huge powerful monsters is what
Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord is all
about. There may be an issue of consistency when
using 3 Overlords or even 1, but consistency tends
to be an issue in any Hieratic deck.

Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord
Lv 8/LIGHT/Dragon/0A/0D
(no effects - Normal Monster)
Well.. He's got a high level, at least. Seriously
though, his only place is in an HD deck as you'll
only want to Special Summon him from there. Sadly,
he's really a joke as you can only use him to bring
out Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis,
which is a monster that's hard to get out and has an
effect with a heavy cost to it. My advice is to go
with Blue-Eyes White Dragon if you want a Lv 8
Normal Dragon in your HD deck.

Hey ther duelist! Blackmarketyugioh back for
more, and whew! More Hieratic monsters in store.
Today, we look at Hieratic Seal Of The Sun Dragon
Overlord.
A 8star, 0/0 normal dragon type monster.
What is there really to sy about this guy? Wait! I
remember. This guys fuels the Heliopolis summons,
and that's about it. Heliopolis is a great card,
but our card today is only usable in Hieratics for
Heliopolis, and Thunder End Dragon. The 8 rank
version of Hieratics is a good build, but cannot
hang with the Meta big boys. I love the idea of a
themed monster for the Hieratic Xyz engine, but
honestly, this is not the way. 3/3 in blah.

Almighty protector of the sun and sky, I beg of
thee, please heed my cry.
Transform thyself from orb of light and bring me
victory in this fight.
I beseech thee, grace our humble game.
But first I shall call out thy name:
BAKUGAN BRAWL: DRAGONOID STAND!!!
Ah, the famed Hieratic Level 8 Normal Monster. I
must say, absolute zilch on a Level 8 monster makes
it very powerful indeed, so powerful, in fact, only
a Hieratic Deck with the powers to summon Normal
Dragons like crazy can ever hope to use it.
So why actually use this big ball instead of
something that can actually fight, like Blue-Eyes
White Dragon? Namely...for the name. This includes:
Being able to change its Level off Eset.
Making it a valid target for either of the
Hieractic's Spells.
Paying for the cost of either of the Hieratic's
Traps, Su, Nebthet, Asar, or the Sun Dragon
Overlord (but really, you'd be better off using a
Hieratic that will refund its own Tribute).
Otherwise, being a Normal Monster, this card works
with White Elephant's Gift, Advance Draw, and
Trade-In, although I would only ever recommend using
the first in Hieratics.
Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord's main
purpose is to, obviously, Xyz Summon Hieratic Sun
Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis. That is, however, a
very situational investment to summon something that
is arguably not as powerful as Hieratic Dragon King
of Atum.
I've mentioned time and time again that the
Hieratic's most secure duel style is swarming
Wattaildragon to Xyz for Hieratic Dragon King of
Atum. If you DO use any other Normal Dragons,
however, this guy will be the one to pick (thought I
would not use more than 2 of it) (another potential
is using Inferno Reckless Summon to set up for Neo
Galaxy-Eyes or summoning two Rank 8 Xyzs such as
Thunder End Dragon, but this is more cool than it is
effective). Otherwise, it is an incredibly bad draw
that otherwise is overshadowed by many other options
that can be Special Summoned. It is by far no means
a Hieratic staple (unless you really want to Xyz
Rank 8).

Aesthetics: 3.15/5 You can also see the Wdjat Eye
rather clearly on this ball. Also, cool background.
I never understood why exactly Hieratic Sun Dragon
Overlord of Heliopolis and The Winged Dragon of Ra
have a ball form, though. Really, it's Osiris (Asar,
the green dude) that's supposed to have a ball form,
and you can see this in the card Hieratic Seal of
Convocation.
