Hieratic Dragon of Gebeb continues our week, again a
Level 4 Dragon, of the Light attribute, this time
with a slightly higher attack at 1800 yet a slightly
lower defense of 400. When this card destroys an
opponent's Monster via Battle and sends it to the
Graveyard (insert standard Hieratic Dragon text
here) but that's not the only effect. When this
card is tributed, (just tributed, not specified as
to what or why) you can Special Summon a Hieratic
Normal Monster from your Hand or Deck. Note its
attack and defense don't become 0, (although the
only one I can think of has 0 attack and defense).
I like this card better than yesterday's and the
effect, either effect, is easy enough to pull off in
the Deck. Certainly one of the better Hieratic
cards out there.

The next Hieratic monster we will be reviewing is
Hieratic Dragon of Gebeb. While not a staple in most
Hieratic decks, Gebeb is still a pretty good
Hieratic monster with good combos to go with it.
When combined with cards like Honest, Shrink, or
Forbidden Lance, you can run over your opponent’s
bigger monster and summon a level 4 normal dragon
monster to Xyz summon a Rank 4 monster.
Another nice combo to use with Gebeb is to use Enemy
Controller to tribute it and gain control of your
opponents monster, special summon a Hieratic normal
dragon monster with the same level, and Xyz summon a
powerful monster. The nice thing about Gebeb, is
that the monster summoned when tributed does not
lose its attack and defense like other Hieratic
monsters. The bad thing is that it has to be a
Hieratic monster so we will have to wait for more
normal or Gemini Hieratic monsters to be released
before Hieratic Dragon of Gebeb is a viable option
for a Hieratic deck.
Of course, you still get its special summoning
effect when tributed and being a level 4 monster,
you can summon it and then tribute it for one of the
special summon via tribute monsters. For now, we
will have to wait for more Hieratic normal monsters
as we currently only have two and one is a Gemini.

Gebeb is kinda like yesterday's card, Nuit, as
when it does something, you get to special summon a
Normal Dragon-Type monster from your hand, deck or
graveyard, and make its ATK and DEF 0. In Gebeb's
case, it's when it destroys a monster by battle.
Also when Gebeb is tributed in any way, you can
special summon 1 Hieratic normal monster from your
hand, deck or graveyard. Gebeb can get you out two
monsters in one turn if you plan things out right.
Also, like Nuit, he workd well with Resonance
Device, after you get out a higher level monster to
Xyz summon with, and he combos very well with Trials
and Tribulation as well. A must for the deck as
Gebeb gets you what you need really fast.

Well, this guy loves to destroy opposing monsters
and add to your field at the same time.Plus, if he
himself is tributed, he replaces himself. The sad
part is the first effect only summons Normal dragons
and the second only summons other Heratic Dragons,
but the plus of the second effect is that the new HD
has it's normal A & D, unlike the Normal Dragons
summoned. Gebeb is meant for field control and does
it very well for the theme.

Hi. This month has been super-busy for me and I'm
very behind in catching up in my current
responsibilities. I have reviews provided for last
week if that is of any interest to you. I will still
be continuing to provide reviews for this week, but
they will not be as in-depth as I usually try to
make them to be.
So anyway, we're starting with the most forgettable
Hieratics and working our way up, last Friday being
just a teaser. So, true to my word, I'm going
straight to the point with Gebeb. He's cool, but
like I said yesterday, it's not that the
effect is hard to get off, but it's the application.
The big issue is that you can't Xyz or whatever
during the BATTLE PHASE. The other Hieratics are
prominent as you can swarm the field with
Wattailddragons or something and Xyz to your heart's
content. I only like Gebeb over Nuit because Gebeb
has the standard Hieratic severance package effect.
You can pull out a Luster Dragon and Xyz with Gebeb
to make...Utopia, I guess. That is a little bit of
an insult to Hieratic potential, though.
Otherwise, you can get out a Hieratic Seal for
fodder for Hieratic Seal of Banishment or Hieratic
Seal of Reflection, but meh.
Combining Shrink or Honest with Gebeb can make his
effect work during your opponent's turn, increasing
the chance of survival for your Dragon, but...I
wouldn't really use Gebeb at all.
Oh yeah, and with a hefty 400 DEF, the only attacks
Gebeb will be walling are from Spirit Reaper.

Aesthetics: 3.4/5 Looks appropriate for a brawny,
Level 4 hard-hitter. Geb is the Egyptian god of
earth (evident in Gebeb's art, contradictory with
the Light Attribute but still pretty cool), son of
Shu and Tefnut, and the brother of Nut.
