Trance Archfiend...Level 4, Dark, Fiend, are all things that multiple cards can make love to, although 1500 attack and 500 defense are rather unremarkable for a Level 4 Monster.  Once per turn, you can discard a Fiend-type Monster from your Hand to have this Monster gain 500 attack until the End Phase.  Just discarding Monsters especially for a temporary attack increase (here obviously to 2000) is usually not good.  But Fiends like to be in the Graveyard.  Also, when destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can add a Removed Dark Monsters and add it to your Hand.  I think that's the money effect in this card.  Granted this guy has to go to the Graveyard to get it, but I think that's awesome.

Trance Archfiend is such a great card that it is hard to believe that it does not get more play than it does. If you are playing a Dark World deck then you should definitely be playing this deck. Allure of Darkness and Gates of the Dark World love to banish monsters and Dark World monsters love to be discarded. Trance Archfiend loves to discard and get those banished cards back to the hand.

With 1500 attack, Trance Archfiend can be searched with Sangan and Mystic Tomato. It can also be searched with tomorrow’s card, Creeping Darkness. It is an Archfiend, so it can be used in an Archfiend deck and searched with Pandemonium. Trance Archfiend can be used in any deck that Banishes dark monsters and/or likes to discard. Infernity, Fabled, and Chaos decks are a few examples.

Today we're looking at Trance Archfiend. a level 4 DARK/Fiend type with 1500 ATK and 500 DEF. Trance's effect is, Once per turn you can discard one fiend type monster and this card gains 500 ATK until the end phase. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, you can add one of your banished DARK monsters and add it to your hand. Somebody say discard? Dark World's favorite word makes this card useful in that deck and in Fabled as well. This card works well with spell cards such as Creeping Darkness and Allure of Darkness, mainly Allure to get back that banished monster. The 500 ATK boost may not seem like much, but it can get over a few problems. And getting back a banished monster is not that bad. Is the the best card? No, the worst, far from. I think it's something worth trying out for fun....I can really see this in more Dark World. But that's me

TA is an alright monster, but with the discard for his effect being limited to other Fiend-type monsters, that hurts his usability. The only place I can think of him being usable in is a Dark World deck where you can dump Fiends into the Graveyard to fuel The Gates of Dark World, or to get Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World into the Graveyard to Special Summon him from there.

Returning DARK monsters can be useful for getting back cards like Dark Armed Dragon, but this guy is a bit too limited to be used in most decks. Not being limited to Fiend discards would be great as you'd then be able to use him in a Chaos deck, but sadly no. His stats are alright, but not the best, either.

Sorry, late. I have Inzektor Centipede covered too, so check by Monday again. It's a good card, just saying, and should be used in triplicate for all Inzektor builds.

So you have "Archfiend" in your name. How cute, but it's not like Archfiend Decks are in great quantity.

A lot of Dark Decks recently focus on banishment. DAD, Dark World (with their Field), Allure of Darkness, Stygian Street Patrol, the like. Of course, this card's retrieval effect works with your opponent's basic removal cards, by using BTH or DPrison.

This card also helps throw Fiends from your Hand away, which is good for Infernities and Fabled. That's not the scariest part though: Officially, the discard is not considered a cost, meaning this card is absolutely nuts with Dark Worlders. Throw down Grapha, remove Snoww with Dark World Gates for a bonus draw, and when your opponent finally gets past Trance, get Snoww back in your hand.
And I wouldn't say "no" to that 2000 ATK either (2300 with Gates).

Ruthless. Camp, but ruthless.

Aesthetics: 4/4 It looks like it's about to eat Birdman, lol. But seriously, what were they THINKING when they made this demon??
