Wind-Up Honeybee, is very cute, and incredibly
simple. There's not a whole lot to say here. When
destroyed by Battle and sent to the Graveyard, this
little Insect lets you Special Summon a Level 4 or
lower Wind-Up Monster from your Deck. The low
attack and defense are kind of a downer, but it
still makes for a good set, I mean, it's likely to
end up a 1-for-1 more often than not. Just make
sure it does get destroyed by Battle as obviously it
loses most (if not all) its playability in the fact
if removed or not destroyed by Battle.

Wind-Up Honeybee is the Mystic Tomato of
Wind-Ups. As most Wind-Ups are level 4 or lower, you
can special summon any Wind-Up that the situation
calls for. One of the best uses for this card is in
getting the combo we talked about yesterday going.
If you have ether Wind-Up Rat or Hunter in hand,
Wind-Up Honeybee will get you the other piece. You
have a number of ways to search for the Wind-Up you
need with Ninjitsu Art of Transformation, Wind-Up
Magician, Wind-Up Factory, Wind-Up Carrier Zenmaity,
and Sangan to name a few, Wind-Up Honeybee is just
another option to consider to make your deck
consistent. Cards that can search or special summon
multiple targets will make your deck more
consistent.
Wind-Up Honeybee is a level 1 Earth monster so you
can special summon it with One-For-One and Giant
Rat. Speaking of One-For-One, dump Hunter with it,
ram Honeybee into your opponents monster to get
Wind-Up Rat and then use the combo we talked about
yesterday to gain card advantage and field presence.
The one knock that I have one Honeybee is that it is
slow and normally requires at least a turn to be
useful. In today’s fast pace game where going first
could mean a victory, that is not good.

Tuesday here on Wind-Up week has us buzzing over
Wind-Up Honeybee! Bee is level 1 EARTH/Insect type
with 100 ATK and 300 DEF. Bee's effect is when it is
destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard, you
can special summon 1 level 4 or lower Wind-Up
monster from your deck. While many see Wind-Ups Rat
and Hunter as the workhorses of the deck, Honeybee
is/can be that first step to getting to that point.
If not either of those two, you can get Wind-Ups
Dog, Warrior, Magician or Soldier to fit your needs.
This card does what it does well, setting up for Xyz
summons or various other Wind-Up shenanigans.

"When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to
the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or
lower "Wind-Up" monster from your Deck."
W-U Honeybee is a rather useful search engine for
W-U decks, despite his limitation of having to be
destroyed by battle. Since his stats are so low, the
opponent will be reluctant to waste a monster
destroying effect if they don't have more than one
such effect to draw upon (say a Fissure in hand,
rather than a Master Hyperion on the field and
several fairies in the graveyard to RFP for the cost
of his effect), so it's highly likely he'll be
attacked.
Since all W-Us currently available are of Level 1
through 4, that means you can search out any W-U you
want, making him a key card in any W-U deck. Sadly,
though, that's the only place he's usable... Unless
you want multiples of him splashed into another
deck, I suppose.

Unless you plan on using a few Creature Swaps, I
don't see a great need to really maindeck Bee.
Wind-Ups are not very content to let their opponents
set things off for them; instead, the Wind-Ups'
mission statement is to bring out one of their four
Xyz monsters in order to screw up the opponent's
Hand. Wind-Ups have a lot more potential for
destruction than setting a Bee and saying "end
turn."
It's not even good for Xyzs unless you're planning
to use Goldrat or the like. Given its unique
searching ability, I suppose you can combo it with
Giant Rat for a 6-monster wall, although with 100
ATK, it will hurt to put Bee in ATK mode. Being an
Insect, it also has mass-search value when used with
Pinch Hopper/Howling Insect, but I'd like to
question anyone who'd use Howling in a Wind-Up Deck,
or Bee in an Insect Deck (Naturia + Wind-Up would
make an interesting hybrid Deck, though).
In a land of abused Hornets and Black Luster
Soldiers, Advanced is slowly turning into
Traditional. Bee's inability to summon Level 5 or
higher Wind-Ups is irrelevant because there ARE
none. Furthermore, the Wind-Ups are a rather frail
lot that find it difficult to hold their own in
battle, so if you're expecting an onslaught of
attacks, your main go-to option would be another
Bee, Wind-Up Knight, or Wind-Up Rabbit. If this card
had at least 5 times more ATK, it would at least
give some credence.
If I could change the effect:
"This card can attack your opponent directly. If
this card inflicts battle damage, you can reveal the
top card of your Deck. If it is a monster, take
damage equal to its Level x500 and add it to your
Hand. If it is a Trap or Spell Card, send it to the
Graveyard and Special Summon one 'Wind-Up Honeybee"
from your Deck. This effect can only be used once
while this card is face-up on the field."

Aesthetics: 4/5 Little pincer hands and those anime
eyes AND IT HAS CUTE LITTLE GOGGLES!!! I have five
copies of this guy...which is rather unfortunate
because it's the only Wind-Up monster I have. I
don't get how it's Earth, though.
