3 Level 7 monsters
You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; roll a six-sided die twice and this card's ATK becomes the larger number rolled x 700, then if the total roll was exactly 7, you can apply 1 of these effects.
● Send all other cards on the field to the Graveyard.
● Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or either Graveyard.
● Draw 3 cards, then discard 2 cards.

Number 7: Lucky Straight, is a Rank 7 XYZ
Monster, who is a Fairy (and should totally be a
Spellcaster, look at the guy) of the Light
attribute, with 700 attack and defense, and of the
Light attribute. Lucky Straight is XYZ Summoned with
THREE Level 7 Monsters (which is almost enough for
me, and I assume several others to just discard this
to the binder.) Now, we talked about this last week,
there are several easy enough ways to manipulate
Monster Levels to make an XYZ Summon of this nature
much less difficult. So let's say you did, Lucky
Straight lets you roll a six-sided die twice (by
discarding an XYZ Material) and multiply its attack
by 700x the result of the higher roll. NOTE: I have
a Bachelor's Degree in Math, so anyone who doesn't
understand, or care about Math, skip this next
paragraph...
Obviously that raises the question of why not
just play something stronger, but let's look at this
for a moment...you have an equal chance of 16 and
2/3% chance for any outcome per roll. On the attack
spectrum, a 1 doubles the attack to 1400 while a 6
gives you 4900 total. (All your possible results
from 1-6 respectively are 1400, 2100, 2800, 3500,
4200, and 4900) for those of you who are
unintelligent and/or can't/won't do math. So I'm
thinking you're shooting for 3-6 which gives you a
2/3 shot of a great (or ridiculous) attack score.
Plus the second roll, so the odds are statistically
in your favor.
Now, if the TOTAL results of your rolls combined
are exactly 7 (possible result pairs 1 and 6, 2 and
5, and 3 and 4) which is 3 combinations out of 36
total combinations. Yes, for anyone who took the
time to figure that out, you have the same
combinations in each side of the die BUT you have to
count each number per die, which gives you the
total. So you can get either of the three outcomes
via either die, so that's 6 of 36 or 1/36 which is
statistically insignificant, which makes the latter
effect equally mundane. That equates to a .0276
(approximately of course) percent chance. BUT
assuming you were that fortunate, you can activate
one of the following effects.
Send ALL other cards on the Field to the
Graveyard. Special Summon a Monster from your Hand
OR either Graveyard. Just to take a moment, being
able to Special Summon an opponent's Monster is
almost always a great thing, but I think Monster
Reborn is legal in this Format, is it not? Finally,
you get a Graceful Charity, ala Drawing three cards,
and discarding two. Number 7 Lucky Straight would be
hella fun to use, but needs his own Deck I think,
and I fear wouldn't be competitive, he's just too
unreliable, he's chaotic, and depends on a die...and
the summoning just is too costly with not a big
enough payoff. He's like a crazy Neos or E-Hero
Fusion or Nomi or something.

We are going to review another secret rare from
Galactic Overlord today called Number 7: Lucky
Straight. All you have to do is have 3 level 7
monsters on the field to Xyz summon this monster.
Then all you have to do is roll a six sided die
twice and hope you role a high number or have the
total equal to 7. If you roll two low numbers or if
your opponent negates Number 7’s effects, then you
are left with a weenie monster at the cost of 3
powerful level 7 monsters. Now that is what I call
gambling and needing to be lucky to play this card.
Now all you have to do is find a deck that can
get 3 level 7 monsters to the field. The best combo
that I can think of that likes to Xyz summon large
ranked monsters is Gagaga Girl and Gagaga Magician.
You can do it in a number of ways. One way to do it
is to special summon Gagaga Girl with a card like
Limit Reverse and then activate Inferno Reckless
Summon to get some more. Then summon Gagaga Magician
and make 3 level 7 monsters.
Unfortunately, Number 7: Lucky Straight is too
hard and requires too many resources and requires
too much luck even with Dice Re-Roll, to make it a
good enough card for a spot in an extra deck.

Today we're reviewing Number 7: Lucky Straight,
our second card of Dark Paladin week. A Rank 7 Xyz
monster, needing 3 level 7 monsters to get out, that
is a bit of a tall order. One of the best ways is
the Gagaga trio, which is a Gagaga Magician and 2
Gagaga girls to get your level 7s. A few others are
Red Eyes Black Dragon, Gorz and Fusilier Dragon, the
Duel Mode Beast that can be brought out kinda easy.
Lucky has an effect that some duelist may look down
upon, which is the dice roll. After detaching a Xyz
material from Lucky, his attack is based of the
highest of two dice rolls, also if you manage to get
a 7 out of those two rolls, you get to do 1 of 3
different things. You can either: Send all other
cards from the field to the grave. Special summon 1
monster, from your hand or either duelist's
graveyard. Draw 3 cards and then discard 2. All 3
effects are really good and could win more than a a
few duels, especially is you roll a six and a one,
then clear the field. Lucky's strict and kinda hard
to meet summoning requirements may be hard to get
to, but if you do, there's a good chance it may pay
off.

Alright, it looks like we finally got a Joey
Wheeler-themed card. I've always referred to cards
with luck of the coinflip/dice roll effects as
'chance' cards, and Lucky 7 is the true embodiment
of that name.
First off, his stats are lousy. 700A for a Rank
7? I know they're sticking to the theme and the
effect can make him have up to 4200 ATK, but still,
that's really low. His effects are actually rather
nice, assuming you can roll any combination of 7 on
your two rolls, but again, I've never relied on the
luck of a die roll (mainly why I hate using an
Archfiend deck), as they can lose the roll very
easily.
Then there's his summoning requirements. Who is
ever going to have three Level 7 monsters in play at
the same time anyways? Getting all of them into play
will take monumental effort as it is, and all that
for a chance card? No thanks. There's way better
cards out there than this.

Hey, it's the Riddler! No, it's
Gumby. Hey Gumby, can we tie you in
a knot later?
Assembling and giving up three Level
7 monsters for something with less
stats than Destiny Hero - Malicious,
has random propertiers to give it
acceptable battle properties, and
then a 17% chance (1/6, actually
pretty high) to let loose one of its
"broken" effects? Crazy, right?
Well, just remember, Straight looks
at your higher result. There's
actually an exact 75% you'd get over
2100 ATK; 4200 ATK is your most
likely result at 31%. Don't forget
that you can alter Straight's ATK
more than once per turn, meaning if
you get an (unlikely) unacceptable
roll, just try again for another
chance to hit 7. As for actually
getting the 7 effect off, you'd
probably want to use up all of
Straight's Xyz Materials right away
(unless you have other plans with
them, such as Xyz Gift or Xyz Zone
or other situational cards like Oni-Gami
Combo. I recommend summoning
Straight to concentrate on its high
attack and not as much on trying to
get the 7 effect off. If you DO get
the effect off one or more times,
you usually want to use them in the
order presented: In a given
situation, you want the destruction
effect (to rampage with your
possibly 4200 ATK uninhibited) more
than the Special Summon effect (get
the Level 7 monster you just
discarded!), which you would usually
want more than the Graceful Charity
effect.
It's not impossible to summon this
monster; there's actually quite a
number of Level 7's that can swarm,
especially Fairies, Spellcasters,
and Dragons. The problem is that you
probably wouldn't want to sacrifice
field presence to play this guy, who
admittedly does have a dubious ATK
score and an iffy chance to activate
its main effect. If I wanted to
summon this card that badly, I have
several options that can help the
process. Fog King and Fusilier
Dragon are Level 7 that can be
summoned quickly without drawbacks.
I would also highly recommend using
Level-altering Spells such as "Star
Light, Star Bright," "Resonance
Device," and "Galaxy Queen's Light,"
although it does seem quite a
stretch to go out of your way to
include these cards.
I wouldn't want to base a Deck off
this card, but yeah, if your Deck by
itself has the capabilities to bring
this monster out and the situation
is not right to bring out Big Eye,
it shouldn't hurt to spare room for
a Lucky Straight. It's just one of
those times in which you have Gagaga
Magician with a pair of Gagaga
Girls. Another probable situation is
using Star Light, Star Bright, which
could be extremely volatile in a
Hieractic Deck, which is extremely
useful to play Xyz Monsters with
three materials (although Lucky
Straight wouldn't particularly be my
main choice).

Aesthetics: 5/5 I think it really
goes without saying how the number 7
is a universal symbol of good
fortune. That alone would yield only
an average score for aesthetics. I
think it is very wrong for this
monster to be NOT a Spellcaster,
although granted, "Fairy" is the
seventh Type in alphabetical order.
This guy also physically looks like
the number 7 (that pose, so simple
yet so posh, so much character in
the art). There are other allusions.
"Lucky Straight" is, of course, a
reference to poker's straight flush.
I much rather prefer, however, how
the original name Lucky Stripe is a
references to the triple 7's you get
with a jackpot on the "stripes" of a
slot machine. It also just so
happens that (on a standard die) the
opposite sides always add up to 7,
attributing to the actually
not-so-low rate to activate the 7
effect. It also has a cool storyline
in the anime.
That reminds me, my aesthetic
analysis for Trial and Tribulations
yesterday was incomplete. What I
meant to say was that Steelswarm
Hercules represents Evigishki Zeal
Gigas and that the red-haired woman
is Gishki Noellia, who then evolves
into Evigishki Psychelone.
