Number 25: Force Focus, for starters, is VERY
similar to Photon Strike Bounzer, as reviewed on
Friday. This is a Rank 6 XYZ Monster, with 2800
attack and 2400 defense, who is XYZ Summoned with
two Level 6 Monsters, and of the Light attribute, of
the Machine type. Now while PSB last week negated
effects and dealt Damage, Number 25 also negates
effects, but not just at the time, for an entire
turn, but not as versably as PSB, as Number 25 only
can use its effect on a Level 5 or higher effect
Monster. I think Photon Strike Bounzer being a more
general hitter plus the Damage is a better card, and
I don't think you have a qualm here over an extra
100 attack. I mean, Machines are well enough
supported, but so are Warriors, so go with what
works for you, if you're using either Monster, or
either Deck, or not.

Number 25: Force Focus is a Xyz monster that is
already seeing play in many extra decks. As a rank
6, it is one of the easiest of the high ranking
monsters to be special summoned, and with 2800
attack, one of the strongest. Throw in the ability
to negate your opponent’s level 5 monsters on yours
and their turn and you have a Xyz monster that will
be in the extra deck of any deck that gets level 6
monsters to the field.
Most of the new deck types that have come out this
year can special summon or make level 6 monsters.
Chaos, Dragon, Hieratic, Gagaga, Inzektor, and
Chaos/Dragon decks are some of the better decks that
can produce level 6 monsters at a good pace.
Number 25: Force Focus will not do much to stop
Inzektor, Wind-Up, and Dino Rabbit decks, but it is
awesome against Dragons, Lightsworn, and Chaos
decks. Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, Dark Armed
Dragon, Judgment Dragon, Chaos Sorcerer, Black
Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning, Stardust
Dragon, Celestia, Kristya, Brionic, and the list
goes on, all stopped dead in their tracks. All it
has to do now is to survive battle, spells, traps,
and low level monsters.

Force Focus is a card I am very iffy about. Im
good iffy because FF can negate some larger monsters
like Judgement Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, Stardust
Dragon, it can even stop continuous effect monsters
like Jinzo for a turn. Its ATK and DEF is pretty
huge for a Rank 6 Xyz, and it's a machine, which
means Limiter Removal will help FF over run anything
your opponent can throw at him ATK wise. Im iffy bad
because it is a Rank 6 Xyz, and it's effect is
pretty much Effect Veiler with bigger stats, that
can work on only level 5 monsters and higher for the
turn. Also this card doesn't work on Xyz monsters
either, and it could fall into Bottomless Trap Hole
or in a case of irony, get hit with Effect Veiler
itself. Again, great stats and can work with Limiter
Removal, so-so effect that works in certain
situations. Im middle of the road on this one.

Now we're talking! Being able to negate the
effects of any monster is huge, not to mention hard
to find by way of effects, and #25 does that very
well. Sadly the effect is limited to higher Level
monsters, but still, it's a great effect. Getting
out two Level 6 monsters can be tricky unless you're
running a Chaos deck that uses Lightpulsar Dragon
and/or Chaos Sorcerer, or perhaps running a Fortune
Lady deck and can get the Levels of your gals to
match up at 6, but still...
I wouldn't be surprised to see this card start to
pop up in tornament-level decks. Great stats,
wonderfully useful effect and not too difficult to
get out... A little tricky, but worth the effort.

If you've seen my review on Photon Streak Bounzer,
you'll see my disdain for Force Focus.
There is very little justification to have Force
Focus over Photon Bounzer, especially considering
they are equally just as hard to summon (or just as
easy, depending on whether you see half-full or
half-empty). Force Focus has 100 more ATK and 400
more DEF; these boosts are extremely negligible and
will very rarely ever make a difference. If you want
your bases covered with those extra points in
exchange for Photon Bounzer's burn rate, sure, but I
wouldn't recommend it. This damage is significant as
it causes something like Judgment Dragon to go
through a lot more trouble to exterminate the Xyz.
Otherwise, the advantage it has over Bounzer is that
the effect does not need to be chained to an effect
activation. Force Focus doesn't negate activations
(it can if you CHOOSE to chain), but simply negates
all of the target's effects. This means Force Focus
can slaughter Marshmallon, Spirit Reaper,
and Blackwing Armour Master, for starters. Here's
another example: I just summoned Force Focus and for
whatever reason I left your Leviathan Dragon alive
for the turn. You pull off Dimensional Prison,
Smashing Ground, or something else to end FF's fate,
but at least I can have the last laugh by chaining
FF to target Leviathan Dragon, ruining its ATK. This
is something Photon Bounzer cannot do. This does
mean, however, that Force Focus is not allowed to be
used in Damage Step, which is oftentimes important.
Now the other main difference...the name. Photon
Bounzer gets specific Photon and Bounzer support,
although it is all nothing special. There is only
one general Number support card: When Number 6 is
first summoned, it targets any other Number from
your Graveyard and acquires its ATK.
All in all, Force Focus is quite good. An effect-negator
on a 2800-ATK body takes effort to defeat. I just
happen to like Photon Bounzer more. Not to mention
(and I did mention this in the Photon Bounzer review
last Friday) that Force Focus' Type makes it
vulnerable to being fused into the opponent's
Chimeratech Fortress Dragon. Moreover, Force Focus
is extremely limited being unable to negate monsters
Levels 1-4, as well as any Xyz monster; this is a
disability Photon Bounzer enjoys not having.
Subsequently, Force Focus shall be extrenwlyv
limited by decks it can be utilized in.
Niche Decks: Machine, Number
Traditional: 1.8/5 (may be able to stop effects of
CED and Judgment Dragon, assuming you actually
summon Force Focus, but that won't prevent them from
destroying FF by battle)
Advanced: 2.75/5
Aesthetics: 5/5 As usual, Numbers score very high
based off their design development. I keep
mispronouncing this card as Focus Force though
(mostly because that was the original name), but it
makes sense, as the effect negation sorta forces the
negated monster to become focused so that Force
Focus can properly aim at the monster with all those
scary appendages. 25 squared is 625, which is pretty
cool. This card's design is based off the German
Leica Camera, first produced in 1925. Bit of a
stretch, but I appreciate the effort. I dislike how
they butchered the name when dubbing it in English.
