Queen Dragun Djinn...damn is she good in a Dragon
Deck or what? This is a Rank 4 XYZ Monster,
with 2200 attack and 1200 defense, of the Dark
attribute (despite all that Fire) who is
appropriately a Dragon. She is XYZ Summoned
with two Level 4 Monsters. Protection for a
type of Monsters is a good thing, and Djinn provides
that. She protects your Dragons (excluding
herself) from being destroyed by Battle. Her
2200 attack (while perhaps a bit low for a Rank 4)
still is solid enough to handle her own most of the
time, and Dragons have a ridiculous amount of
support as is, plus whatever else you're playing on
your own. Also, once per by detaching an XYZ
Mateiral, you can Special Summon a Level 5 or higher
Dragon from your Graveyard Said Monster
cannot attack this turn, and its effect(s) is(are)
negated, but who cares? This makes it that
much easier to Synchro or XYZ Summon a high Rank
Monster, like say Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon
Dragon...take Stardust, Galaxy-Eyes, Blue Eyes, I
mean I REALLY like this card. She's excellent
Dragon support.

Apparently we do not have enough support for
Dragon’s, so making Queen Dragun Djinn helps Dragons
go from extinct to current. By summoning this card
in a Dragon deck, you can then special summon a
Dragon from your graveyard with level 5 or higher
and even though it cannot attack and has no effects,
it can be used for Xyz monsters and still has an
effect that activates in the graveyard like
Lightpulsar Dragon. You can even bring out Darkflare
Dragon and activate its effect. Its effect is
negated buy you will still get a Dragon from your
hand and deck to the graveyard.
Hieratic decks love Queen Dragun Djinn as well sense
most of the monsters in the deck are level 5 or
more. Even though these monsters have no effects on
the field, you can still tribute them to get their
effects or Xyz summon with them. That gives us a lot
of targets for Hieratic decks, like Hieratic Dragon
of Asar, Teenuit, Eset, Nebthet, Su, and Seal of the
Sun Dragon Overlord. You can also use Lightray’s in
Hieratic decks like Lightray Diabolos and use them
for the target of Queen Dragun Djinn.
Summoning Queen Dragun is as easy as Rescue Rabbit.
You could also use this card with Golem Dragon to
create a lock. You can then use Debris Dragon to
special summon Golem Dragon in order to Xyz summon
the Queen. If you are playing Dragon’s with level 4
monsters in it, you will want to have Queen Dragun
Djinn in your extra deck.

Today's card is Queen Dragun Djinn. A Rank 4
Dragon type Xyz, needing 2 level 4 monsters. The
Queen is a rather interesting monster, other than
being good Dragon support in their various flavors.
I can also go into into another archtype, but i'll
get into that a little later. Need two level 4
monsters, easy to do in this day and age of Yugioh,
with cards like Rescue Rabbit, Summoner Monk and Red
Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, it makes getting out
Queen Dragun make it kinda easy. She has the ability
that all other Dragon-type monsters can't be
destroyed by battle, which means Golem Dragon could
serve a real purpose when teamed along side Dragun.
Once per turn, you can detach a Xyz material to
target and special summon 1 level 5 or higher Dragon
type monster from your grave. It can't attack that
turn and its effect is negated. That's where you can
use monsters like Vice Dragon to special summon
REDMD, or bring back a Hieratic monster, or just a
really big monster like Blue Eyes White Dragon. An
interesting side note about Queen Dragun is she is
also useful along side Yuma's musical Djinn monsters
from the recent starter deck. With Djinn in her
name, she falls in line with them and their effects.
Overall, The Queen of Dragons is pretty good at what
she does, provide protection, helps summon monsters
from your grave to get your bigger synchro or Xyz
monsters, and plays a mean flute along side the
musical Djinns.

Just looking at the card art
leaves me in awe, but the effect of this card is
something less spectacular. Most dragons are already
high level monsters, but this card works best in
Blue Eyes decks and Heiratics. Sure this card can be
used in Chaos Dragon, Disaster, and Hopeless Dragon
but those decks rely on the effects of their dragon
cards to go off.
The most odd part of this card
is because of “DJINN” in its title, it works very
well with the rest of the Djinn monsters found in
the XYZ Symphony Starter Deck.
Pros: Chaos food, generic
requirements, and recursion.
Cons: Subpar attack and
defense.

Philosophical
Psycho
I'll talk about her positive qualities first.
She makes any attack on any other Dragon a wasted
effort (except for herself and any other copies of
herself). (She can protect herself if she changes
her name, but the only such card to do so is the
forgettable Hero Mask.) She does relatively little
to protect Dragons larger than herself (such as
Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon), primarily because
monsters with really high ATK often come with
effects to destroy the larger Dragon then attack
Queen Dragun. Otherwise, Queen Dragun does well to
divert an attack from REDMD so you can perhaps game-breakingly
use REDMD's effect next turn. Queen Dragun can
protect smaller Dragons, but Queen Dragun is pretty
puny by dragonic standards.
Her main effect, while would've been better had it
been ANY Dragon, is not bad. Although they won't
have effects and can't attack until next turn, I
wouldn't say no to a free REDMD or (lol) Blue-Eyes
Ultimate Dragon. Five-Headed Dragon, for those who
don't know, cannot be re-summoned due to its own
effect. If you revive Lightpulsar Dragon, it WILL
get its effect when destroyed, so that's not bad.
Otherwise, you'll usually use up your Dragon right
away.
It's hard actually summoning this card in the proper
Deck. Sure, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon can
assemble materials quite quickly, but a Dragon Deck
has relatively few Level 4's, and those that are
used tend to be tributed quite quickly. If you
actually get around to summoning a pair of Eclipse
Wyverns, they can get their effects when used for
Queen Dragun's cost.
2200 ATK is a little on the low side for a Rank 4
Xyz. She gets a lot of support from the musical
Djinns, so if you're up to it, splash her into that
Deck if only to have a 4400 ATK with Muzurhythm's
boost.
Niche Decks: Dragon, Djinn
Traditional: 1/5
Advanced: 2.55/5 (some potency, and has "not bad"
effects, but overall "meh," but at least she sits in
the Extra Deck and won't be a bother)
Aesthetics: 4/5 In the same way Lord of D. goes into
King Dragun, Lady of D. goes into Queen Dragun. The
art and concept alone gets 5/5; she's very pretty.
I'm really disappointed with the way the naming
botched things up. I mean, yes, I guess the English
team could not have forseen the Djinn archetype way
back then, but there will be severe complications in
giving the Djinns further support.
This is also unrelated, but I never forgave the
dubbing team for not giving Lord and Lady of D.
their full names.
Philosophy Corner: I wonder if all the anti-Pokemon
and Harry Potter Christians out there also reject
Yu-Gi-Oh, Star Wars, and all other sci-fi and
fantasy out there.

Hello duelists,
Blackmarketyugioh back again after a long hiatus.
Ready to get to it?
Today, we have Queen Dragun Djinn.
A 4 Rank dragon, with 2200ATK, and 1200DEF. She
is not specific as the materials to summon
her, which is always a good thing.
Queen's 1st effect is that other dragons you control
cannot be destroyed by battle, except for herself.
Cool, if you have a way to protect her. Her ATK is a
little on the weak side for such a good effect. Her
other effect, is a little more interesting. Once per
turn, you can detach a material to special summon a
Lv 5 or higher dragon from your graveyard, and said
dragon loses it's effect, and cannot attack the turn
it is summoned.
Now, that lost effect is just like most things,
you flip it face down, and up again, and it will
regain it's effect. Use Queen's effect, bring a
Lightpulsar from the grave, when LPD hits the grave,
you can use his effect to bring another dragon out
via his effect.
All in all, I think that Queen Dragun is a good
card, but not useable in most dragon builds. Being a
4 rank, most dragon decks do not play many Lv 4
monsters other than REW and Eclipse Wyvern. And most
of the time, neither of those see the field of play.
I see the possibilities of this card, and wonder if
we may see a Hieratic build that plays the Lv 4 guys
a little more than I am seeing now.
Advanced: 3/5
Traditional :3/5
I put this right in the middle due to the fact that
I do see ways to use her, but just not in the
current meta. I think that if she had been given a
little higher ATK, we may see more duelists trying
to actually use her.

Oh come on, this card is absolutely awesome looking!
great job!
