Closing out the week is Thunder Sea Horse, an
interesting little Monster in the often neglected
and forgotten Thunder family. Thunder Sea Horse is
a Level 4, Thunder Monster, with 1600 attack and
1200 defense. He's a simple Monster, who lets you
discard himself, to replace with two Level 4, Light
type, Thunder Monsters, with 1600 attack or less,
and of the same name from your Deck. You can't
Special Summon in the turn you use this effect, and
you can only activate it once per turn. The effect
is a +1, so I figure that makes him worthwhile,
especially in a Deck with the "Hunder" Monsters we
reviewed not too long ago.

Thunder Sea Horse is a monster that works well
with the Hunder monsters Ma, Pa, and Sis who we
reviewed a short time ago. The other theme that
Thunder Sea Horse works well with is the Watt
monsters. Using Photon Veil in these decks can net
you three Thunder Sea Horses and using their effects
will then net you a plus two after three turns and
allow you to search for the monsters you need. Deck
thinning and searching are always a good thing in
Yu-Gi-Oh.
You can also use some draw cards to help you get to
the cards you need, like Pot of Duality, Reckless
Greed, Cardcar D, and Pot of Avarice. Currently,
there are just a few monsters that meet Thunder Sea
Horse’s requirements as Light Thunder monsters are
sparse. Sense I do not see the above decks as being
very relevant in today’s game, my ratings will
reflect Thunder Sea Horse’s impact on the game. Have
a happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Our last card of this short holiday week is a
personal favorite of mine. Thunder Sea Horse is a
level 4 LIGHT/Thunder-type monster, with 1600 ATK
and 1200 DEF. This card gives almost any Thunder
deck a real good shot in the arm.
You can discard this card; add 2 level 4 LIGHT
Thunder-type monsters of the same name with 1600 ATK
or less from your deck to your hand. You can only
use the effect of Thunder Sea Horse once per turn.
You cannot special summon the turn you activate this
effect.
Thunder Sea Horse's stats are alright for a level 4,
but since it's a LIGHT monster, it can team with
Honest to make sure it wins a few more battles. Once
per turn you can discard Thunder Sea Horse to grab 2
LIGHT/Thunder monsters of the same name with 1600
ATK or less. It's like Thunder Dragon and Photon
Veil made sweet love. Here's where Sea Horse gets
good. You can grab cards like 2 Batteryman AAA, any
of the three Hunder monsters, Voltic, Vylon Prism, a
few Watt monsters or even 2 more Thunder Sea Horses.
The only place I can't see this card really doing
what it does well is in a Batteryman deck, as there
is only 1 level 4 Batteryman and it's AAA. In a
Hunder and Watt deck, this card will flourish as you
have plenty of targets to choose from. Thunder Sea
Horse is LIGHT and that is the halfway point for
Chaos monsters. This card (if you can get one, cause
I can't) is a great reason to build a Thunder deck,
I already started working on mine....just need 2-3
of these hard to freaking get cards.

Okay, let me start with restating the first part
of the effect: "You CAN discard this card." I kept
misreading that part at first. :P
Anyways, TSH is meant to be a deck thinning card
more than anything else. There's not a huge number
of cards that match the requirements for his search
effect, so you won't get a lot out of him. To be
honest, The only main use I can come up for him is
to thin out an Exodia deck to make drawing the
pieces that much easier. All-in-all. not the best
searcher because of the restrictions upon him, but
usefull in a low-power Thunder deck, such as a
Batteryman or Watt deck, I suppose. Thunder hasn't
ever been a monster-type I've paid much attention
to, to be truthful.
